Miller “Buck” Butterson has been banging his way through life ever since a puck to the face fixed his messed up front teeth. After five years in the NHL, deflecting goals on the ice and scoring them with puck bunnies, Miller has decided he’s ready for a girlfriend. A real, non-bunny girlfriend to take on dates, and not jump into bed with after five seconds of conversation.
Miller thinks he’s … thinks he’s found that woman in his teammate’s sister. Except, unlike team captain and all-around nice guy Alex Waters—who happens to date his stepsister, Miller’s media reputation as a manwhore is well earned. Beyond that minor detail, Miller doesn’t know the first thing about relationships or the time and effort they require.
Miller learns—eventually—that if he wants to make Sunshine “Sunny” Waters fall for him, he’s going to have to do a whole lot more than show her his stick skills in the bedroom.

While I didn’t enjoy this one quite as much as the first, I still read it in one day. Well written with lots of humour.
The Story of Buck and Sunny Sunshine. These characters are really good. This author and series launched my obsession with Hockey Romances. I love them all.
NO SPOILERS!
Pucked Up was a funny, sexy, and entertaining standalone sports romantic comedy in the Pucked series, and I really enjoyed it. The storyline and characters were extremely fun and likable, and Helena Hunting’s sense of humor was freaking hilarious, especially with a few of the secondary characters. I really liked Miller and Sunny, and enjoyed reading their story. There were a few aspects that I didn’t care for, namely the same problem(s) that kept arising, and it got frustrating and annoying after a while. However, I was happy with how everything turned out in the end for Miler and Sunny, and I can’t wait to read the rest of the Pucked series.
The continuation of this great MF modern romance set around the ice hockey world. I listened to the audiobook. This book is from Buck Butterson’s POV and his pursuit of Sunny Waters, sister to Alex from book 1. The banter is great from Buck/Miller. Off to listen to book 3.
POOR MILLER…CAN’T CATCH A BREAK
Pro NHL player, Buck/Miller is a player on the ice and off….Sunny/Sunshine is a sweet, vegan, hippie child…..Miller wants Sunny, but, after all the Internet pics she’s seen, (and the media captures everything he does in pics)…and trusting doesn’t come easy for Sunny, anyway…It seems like there’s no way a relationship can work for them…But, I thought they had plenty of chemistry…This book is hot and funny..
Second book in the Pucked series brought us back to the world of professional hockey players, how they dealt with scandals, social media, private matters, personal relationships, etc. Pucked Up featured Miller and Sunny, who were Violet’s stepbrother and Alex’s sister, respectively, from the first book Pucked.
Miller was famous for being a playboy, but has been taking a serious interest in a real relationship with his teammate’s sister Sunny. Despite his player vibes and what social media had painted his image, Miller was a considerate, sweet, caring, kind-hearted man who loved to do volunteering and charity works without fanfares. With Miller’s bad reputation with women, Sunny was cautious with their relationship despite his constant reassurance. At some point, I was a bit frustrated with her insecurities and her indecisiveness when dealing with their issues. Lots of misunderstandings and unexpected events happened to threaten their relationship, but eventually Sunny grew out of it, seeing Miller for who he really was and following her own intuition.
I would recommend reading book 1 before this one. I LOVE the close relationship between Miller and his stepsister Violet, who was still as quirky and awkward as ever Miller’s POV was hilarious and the sex was hot, will make you laugh out loud and fan yourself
A 4- read, it’s fun, entertaining, and enjoyable.
*5 Stars*
Ok, let me start off by saying that even though I was keen to continue this series, I wasn’t a fan of Miller in the first book, so I wasn’t too sure if I would like him or not. That immediately changed for me. I loved this book!
Miller was actually a really fun character, and I loved getting to know him. And oh my gosh, his scenes with Vi were hilarious! Those two together were amazing. I quite liked Sunny as well, but there were a few times I got quite frustrated with her.
Even though he find’s himself dealing with situations that were not the best for Sunny and others around him, Miller has a really huge heart, and the camp and other things he does in this book were awesome. He was my favourite character in this book, and there was way more depth to him than I thought.
Our secondary characters were quite interesting too, and I believe there was set up in this book for at least two more. I’m really keen for Randy’s book because I think thats gonna be an interesting one.
I can’t wait to continue this series when I get the chance, this world is really fun!
3.5 Not as good as Pucked, but still pretty good and quite funny. I like Buck, but not as much as Alex, although Alex did make me mad a few times in this one actually. It can be quite entertaining being in Buck’s head at times. I felt bad for him for a good chunk of the book, he really couldn’t catch a break. I like Sunny a lot, she’s really a sweetheart. I wish that we got some of her perspectives as well though. I was so-so on the storyline. I liked some parts and didn’t like others.
How good part 2 can be!
Helena Hunting does it again with the second book in her Pucked series. Pucked Up centers around Violet’s brother, Miller “Buck” Butterson, a talent NHL-er and fellow team mate to Alex Waters (Violet’s boyfriend). Even with a reputation that proceeds itself, Buck manages to snag the interest and affection of Alex’s sister (Sunny) and it’s here that the fireworks truly happen! Between Sunny and Buck, which are smoldering and sweet and often misinterpreted as their relationship develops and also the tension between Buck and Alex, who wants him no where near his sister. Things definitely go to another level when Violet enters the mix and puts her two cents in – you can’t stop the tears of laughter that result.
This is another fantastic read by a truly fantastic author. Her characters are entertaining, engaging and endearing and one cannot wait for the next book in the series.
We have another fabulously funny couple on our hands! Buck and Sunny are sweet cute and have the sizzle. Buck has had his share of puck bunnies but now he is looking for a bot more substance in his relationship and that could be the lovely Sunny . She truly brings the light into his world but soon the media portrays him in a bad light and his teammate Waters ….Sunny’s brother only wants the best for her and to protect her. Buck must now fight for the light in his life and prove he is the man she deserves and the man that he knows that he is when he is with her !!
I loved their story!!

This book is laugh out loud, hilarious. I woke my daughter up in the middle of the night from laughing out loud. It has one of my most favorite, memorable scenes ever. Miller is really trying to be on his best behavior to impress Sunny. He loves hockey and his life but the puck bunnies have not helped with him image. He has a lot of work to do to show Sunny he really has changed and has her best interests at heart. This book is full of laughs and love. Such an enjoyable read. Love Helena and the Pucked series. Enjoy!!!
This was another great book by Helena, but I didn’t love it as much as Alex and Violet’s story. I think the reason is that Violet got into my mind and I am envisioning this overly hairy, bear of a man. Miller also comes across as a “dumb, no body’s home” jock. I like my heroine’s feisty and Sunny is just too sweet. However, I will say Miller and Sunny do make the perfect couple. Somehow their own intricacies balance each other out. It was still a cute story, but not as funny as the first.
This story features our Hero, Miller, aka Buck, Violet’s step-brother and Alex’s teammate, who we met in the first book. I didn’t love his character in the first book since he was painted more as a “step-bother” to Violet. But in this second book, we hear everything from his POV which really provides some depth to his character. He happens to fall for Alex’s younger sister, Sunny, which makes their relationship a bit taboo because of the future in-law status. The author does a good job providing more depth to Buck to make him a likeable Hero. We also see a different, better version of him as Violet’s brother.
It took me a while to warm to his and Sunny’s relationship, but he eventually won me over the same way he did Sunny!
I love Miller! He is the most awkward hero in this series because Sunny knocks him on his rear! The dynamic between these characters and Violet & Alex are awesome. Sunny is Alex’s sister, & Miller is Violet’s stepbrother. Alex does not like the idea of Miller & Sunny together. No matter how much Alex protests their relationship, Miller & Sunny seem drawn together.
As usual, Helena keeps the comedy great. She leaves you wanting more of the story. She gives enough story of the outside characters to make you anticipate the next in the series. And if course. Violet is forever entertaining!
I am working my way through this series in audio and *warning* this series is NOT suitable for mixed company. I laughed my way through this and was delighted with it. I swear, I wish Violet was my best friend because she is hilarious! Her book was the first one and she shows up quite often since this one is about her step-brother Miller “Buck” Butterson who is on the same NHL team as her fiance and his sister Sunshine “Sunny” Waters. Miller has the worst luck and even though he has tried to mend his ways and stay away from the puck bunnies, he seems to be a beacon for them and social media backlash.
I kept saying to myself “poor Miller” and then “wise up” but really he needs an intervention!
Definitely a “tongue-in-cheek” series and not for everyone but lighthearted and FUN read/listen!
I think these books are great. Such wonderful characters. Even better sub-plots.
My only frustration with them in general is the quick and excessive overreactions to known social media exaggerations and falsehoods. At this point they make for awful plot ebbs because … come on … we all know that you can’t believe what you see about people on social media is total truth!
On that note, the changes the Hero in this book works on and the way the Heroine drives those changes by just being herself are sweet and sassy all at once. Looking forward to book 3.
Pucked up follows Miller “Buck” Butterson, Violet’s step-brother from Pucked who, I will admit, I didn’t like at all in the first book in the series.
Well slap me around the head with a bat because Buck was FABULOUS! And brave, especially when he sets his sights on Sunny Waters, the sister of Alex Waters from Pucked. I mean, Buck’s quite attached to his balls… but if Alex gets his way, he might not have them much longer.
There were so many hilarious as well as one or two touching moments in this book. The spider scene…. hahahahahaha. One of the funniest things I’ve ever read.
Seriously, if you need books that make you laugh so much, water spews from your nose, look no further.
Pucked Up is the second book in the Pucked series and it’s the story of Violet’s stepbrother Miller and Alex’s sister Sonny. We met these two in book 1 and I was very much interested in their story.
I loved Miller. He was sweet yet totally clueless. Although I liked Sonny at first, there were times I did not like how she treated Miller as the story progressed. The secondary characters added great balance and support to the MC and I liked them all. The story was fast paced and hilarious and I could not stop laughing.
I listened to the audible version of this novel which was narrated by Joe Arden. He did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. I absolutely loved his portrayal of Miller.
This was a great continuation to the series and I would highly recommend it to all lovers of Romantic comedies.
I really enjoyed this book. Miller was fantastic; all his faults and idiosyncrasies made him seem all the more real, and his big heart warmed my own. I loved seeing his progression through the story, going from a manwhore who doesn’t understand the effects his actions have to realizing how much of an impact he can have by opening up. I couldn’t help but find a place in my heart for him. I also loved Sunny and Violet, and I’m dying to jump into Randy’s story next.
Pucked Up is laugh out loud funny with a story that pulls you right in. The characters are real and flawed. I loved and hated them in turns, but always felt for them and can’t wait to read more in this series.
“There are no refunds and no exchanges with love. It comes with flaws and imperfections. It’s raw, unfiltered, and sometimes it isn’t easy. But I’ve found the best things in this life are the ones I’ve had to work hardest for.”
I loved watching the growth and development of the characters throughout this story.
4.5 Stars!
