Lily LeBlanc isn’t versed in the art of casual sex, but after seven years in an on-again, off-again relationship, she’s definitely willing to give it a shot. And who better to try it with than her best friend’s boyfriend’s best friend? What could possibly go wrong?
NHL player, Randy Ballistic, lives up to his last name on the ice and in the bedroom. His best friend and teammate has recently … recently given up the puck bunnies and traded them in for a real girlfriend. And she just happens to have a seriously feisty, extra-hot best friend on the rebound. Randy’s more than happy to be Lily’s spring board back into the dating scene.
But casual sex is only casual until those pesky things called emotions get involved. Once that happens, someone’s bound to get pucked over.

If you’re fond of bathroom sex scenes, get this book NOW! Bathrooms are kind of this couple’s thing as Randy and Lily first meet in a bathroom and from there on out they find plenty of bathrooms to get frisky in! These two have amazing chemistry and an uncontrollable lust for one another which makes for a lot of hot scenes with biting, hair pulling and possibly the breaking of a bathroom counter! The steam from this book had me feeling like I was on fire!
Randy is definitely being added to my book boyfriends list! Tattoos, a beard, hair long enough to pull on, and fuck me sideways, he’s a dirty talker! Oh and he loves to use his mouth for things other than talking and then there’s the sweet gestures like going out of his way to spend extra time with Lily! He’s the perfect mixture of caring, flirtatious and passionate!
I really enjoyed the amount of sports in this book! Quite a few sports romance books I’ve read don’t have that much sports content, but with Randy being a NHL player and Lily teaching figure skating, there was a few scenes where we get to see these two on the ice!
I’m so incredibly sad this book ended as fast as it did after the conflict resolution! I LOVED these two together and I couldn’t be happier that they were able to work things out but I’m hoping we get to see plenty more of them in upcoming books in the series cause I was not ready to let these two go!
P.S.- From here on out, every time I hear the word marble my mind is gonna go in a not PG direction
Favorite Quotes:
”I have things that need stroking more than my ego. -Randy
”Keep your eyes on mine, baby.” -Randy
” I don’t do spankings.”
“What if I do?” He slides it ominously along his palm.
“Then you can pass that over, and I’ll do my best not to feel bad about smacking you around with it.” -Lily
”I just wanna be with you.” His entire body is shaking. “I just wanna be in you.” -Randy
“I like that she’s my kind of crazy”
Lily and Randy’s story finally.
I don’t even know where to begin.
I’m on a rollercoaster of emotions of epic proportions, and I don’t think I wan’t it to stop.
I laugh , I cry and I feel in love all over again with each of Helena Hunting’s story, and this one was no exception at all.
Lily just got out of a toxic seven years relationship, that left her with insecurities and no self love.
Randy a player, on and off the ice, who doesn’t believe in love and in long lasting relationship.
“I thought I was just gonna be your rebound. I didn’t expect it to turn into something else.”
Since they met, it was attraction at first sign , undeniable . They both agreed to see each other casually , nothing serious . Just for fun.
But there’s no way to avoid feelings , no matter how much you fight them.
“You’re the most beautiful thing in my life.”
The chemistry and the sexual tension between them was like fireworks . They just made sense together . They were just too blind by stubbornness to realize it sooner .
It was a real journey , and I loved every second of it.
One of the best hockey romance hands down.
I gave it 5 stars
I hope you’ll enjoy it like I did!
Gah! I’ve been loving all of the Pucked books now that I’ve finally read beyond Pucked…but this one, this one is most definitely my top favourite! Alex and Miller are amazing…but hollllyyyy vow to do I ever love Randy. And Lily was hilarious! I loved them apart, absolutely adored them together, and I loved seeing them interact with all of the other Pucked couples! Amazing!!!!
If you love rom-coms, sports romances, or sexy romances at all and you haven’t started this series yet, you seriously NEED to!
‘Pucked Over’ is the third book of the ‘Pucked’ series. However, Randy and Lily’s story actually starts in ‘Pucked Up’ when Buck decides to crash Sunny’s camping trip. Do you also see what I see? In ‘Pucked’ Violet and Alex is meeting because of Buck too, so for me Buck is like a Yeti-Cupid without knowing it
Randy Ballistic, a.k.a. ‘Balls’, is Buck’s (Hero of ‘Pucked Up’) best friend since childhood and they both play hockey for Hawks. He is a true player and lives up to his player status. Lily LeBlac is Sunny’s best friend (Heroine of ‘Pucked Up’) and they grew up together in Canada. She is a figure skater but because of financial problems, she stops competing. She works at two different jobs in order to support herself and help her mother.
In ‘Pucked Up’ Randy hooks up with Lily during the camping trip after she breaks up with her on-again, off-again boyfriend for 7 years. The hook up is just a quick, hot and heavy hook up session after she breaks up with her long time boyfriend. She is not casual sex kind of girl but after 7 years of relationship, she doesn’t want something serious and she decides that using Randy for a rebound is a good idea. Randy is all in for being Lily’s rebound because she is hot, fun and feisty. After their hot hook-up session, Lily cannot stop thinking about Randy. As for Randy, he is all about hooking up with Lily again. However, everything becomes more complicated when their emotions get involve with their causal hook-up sessions. They both don’t want to get hurt so instead of talking about the shift in their relationship, they decide to ignore it.
I love that the book was written in dual POV. It really helps you to see their inner struggles and how their relationship develops. The way they work on getting over their insecurities and try to build a relationship was sweet and heartbreaking. I love how passionate, sexy, romantic and somewhat silly their relationship was. If you enjoyed the ‘Pucked’ series, I am pretty sure that this will be your favorite book of the series.
Would I recommend this book: Yes
Would I re-read this book: Already did
Would I read future books by this author: Yes
This is easily my favorite Helena Hunting book. And the reason for that is Randy Ballistic. Best book boyfriend ever. This is also one of my favorite audiobooks ever. Randy and Lily are everything. This book was funny, sweet, romantic, and sexy. Jacob and Rose did a stellar job with the narration. Loved every second of it.
Another fun and entertaining story in this series. Randy and Lily have a love/hate relationship with loads of chemistry which lead to hot and sultry moments. I loved this book.
My favorite hockey book yet by Helena Hunting. Lily and Randy are pure perfection! Their banter and Lily’s wit and snark, I love it all. I read the book in a day because I couldn’t get enough of these two.
We got a glimpse of Randy and Lily from Pucked Up and we got the reasonings and full story in Pucked Over. What starts out as fun, ends up as something serious and intense. They’re not sure how to navigate these feelings due to past feelings.
I love it when a big tough guy who is so against feelings gets them. When a girl can bring them to their knees, it’s one of my favorite story lines.
I cannot talk enough about this book. So happy, do great, so fantastic… I may go re read now!
FABULOUS
I ABSOLUTELY ADORED THIS BOOK !!!!!..the third installment in this Phenomenal Hockey series.
I bloody Love Randy,I just had to get that out there before I try to get a review together.
Because honestly I have no idea what to say,the basic facts are I Loved every single second of this story between Randy and Lily. From their first unconvential meeting to their sexathons,What first just starts as a bit of fun develops into something more than both of them expected, especially for Randy.
Randy Ballistic like his team mates has a reputation with the ladies…yes he’s a manwhore and avoids any kind of commitment. Before things can get serious with a woman he removes himself from the situation and cuts them out of his life.
Lily on the other hand is getting out of a seven year relationship with a douche bag Benji, who used to ridicule and humiliate her all the time…
So it seems like a perfect arrangement for them both to just a have some sexy fun..there will be no commitment for Randy and it will be some rebound fun for Lily.
This is a fantastic book with so much more to it than two people having lots of sexy times,Randy is as Hot as Hades…with insecurities that he hides well..Lily is his ideal match their connection was instant and chemistry crazy electric.
Helena Hunting has written yet another addictive book, page after page I was just enthralled and so wrapped up in the whirlwind that is Randy and Lily.
I LOVED it so much a sensational read that I highly recommend.
An EXCELLENT 5 Stars.
OMG! I absolutely fell in love with Lily and Randy. I knew they were going to be a great couple when we met them the first time in Pucked Up. Actually how they first met. They are funny and sweet and oh so sexy together. I love how this series keeps the other couple’s stories alive. Like how Violet is still struggling with all her engagement anxiety. And how sweet Miller and Sunny are. These hockey players are some fantastic boyfriends when they find the right girl. My heart just swoons. On to find out if Violet and Alex make it to forever.
The third book in this Pucked world delivers another incredible couple that’s a perfect match in every possible way. However I don’t think it fully reached its potential. Within the lines there lies a sensitive topic which I would have loved to be explored a little more and deeper. Because it made this story so much more real and relatable.
Nevertheless, Pucked Over is definitely an entertaining and enthralling read and a great addition to the series.
Randy and Lily’s set up came from the previous book. Their best friends are Miller and Sunny so they’ve already met and uh…have gotten acquainted after an act of chivalry (which was damn sexy in my opinion!) But Randy’s a player and only wants to have fun. He doesn’t do relationships. Lily’s coming off a break-up after a 7-year relationship and wants a rebound. When feelings start getting in the way, they both have no idea what they’re going to do.
I think these two are my favorite couple and if I had to choose, I’m 100% Team Randy! I enjoyed watching them try to keep things casual all the while knowing that they were both falling for each other. This couple was clearly meant to be together even if it took them a while to figure it out.
The backstories for these characters was one of the things I liked best about this book. We learn why Randy’s only been known as a player and why Lily spent 7 years in a crappy relationship. The acceptance they both show each other is beautiful and what eventually keeps them together. They learn how to love and trust in the other.
These books have all been laugh-out-loud funny and seriously HOT! But they’re also super sweet and it makes the perfect mix.
Randy and lily are just good for the soul and exactly what you need. They are like the warm bowl of soup on a cold day. Randy is so charming and funny and dirty. All the best things in life. Lily is tough, sweet, and hilarious. Add in all the characters we already love and these books just keep getting better.
My favorite after the original couple of the series. Can’t get over Randy!
I’m not sure if this will be the end of this series or if we get weddings or engagements or Lance’s book but holy crap I loved these books. They are so filled with humor and emotions, and drama and heartbreak. This book was no exception.
You get the beginning of Lily and Randy in Pucked Up, but not necessarily the gist of their issues. In this book, you get why Randy can be a douche, but really find out he’s far from it. He’s just scared of being one just like his dad. I really liked him a lot. And even though casual was the main recipe in this book, you could tell there was a lot more to it.
Lily’s true colors came out at the end of Pucked Up, so I liked her at the beginning of this book. She has problems just like anyone else, but she makes the most of them and doesn’t wallow in her sorrow. Thankfully she has Sunny to lean on, which is seriously the best thing for her. Her feelings for Randy are stronger than she allows herself to realize far sooner than she admits to herself. Which is one of the things in this book that made me cry (just a little).
I loved how they were together even when they were just friends with benefits. I truly hope there is more to come in this series. !! Truly deserving of the 5*****.
This was an enjoyable read for me. Dual POV helped the reader connect to both characters. Randy turns out to be a pretty likable guy who has used frequent shallow sexual relationships to avoid attachment and the possibility of pain. Lily and Randy have both had some childhood drama that has shaped who they are. For example, Lily really struggles with change. They are young, the physical side of their relationship is super hot, and they think they can prevent their hearts from being involved. I loved how Randy opens up to Lily from almost the beginning without even realizing he is doing it. I love that Lily takes such good care of Randy when she realizes the insecurity his scars have caused, and that Randy constantly affirms Lily to counter all of the crap her ex told her to tear her down. I loved seeing the characters we have come to know from other books and the friendship the ladies are building as a group. I appreciated the continuing development of the friendship between the men as well. Overall, I enjoyed this book. Due to the continuing series, this book ends with more of a HFN instead of a HEA.
I really enjoyed this one , randy and lily are cute together and have some seriously crazy chemistry between them – so there’s lots of lovin’ throughout this book as well as themes of people’s insecurities and learning to trust others as well as themselves Despite them.
There’s a good dose of violet and her manic mouth, as well as enough of the other characters in the series to make everyone familiar and an enjoyable continuation of the series .
I read this book in 1 day. It was that good. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Randy. Lily is great. I will probably plow through the rest of this series too fast. Funny thing, I read A Lie for a Lie first where I met some of these guys later on. I think I will go back and reread it when I’m done the Pucked series.
I listened to the audio version of this book. I liked it less than book one, but more than book two. When I started reading this series, I didn’t realize how much of it would fall into the YA category. Lily was just 21. I think Randy was somewhere between 24 & 26.
I liked both Randy and Lily. Their relationship developed over time, which was so much better than instalove. Admittedly, there is a LOT of sex in this book. At least Randy and Lily realized at some point they didn’t know much about each other beyond their sexual preferences.
The whole issue with Randy and his situation below the belt was interesting. Something I never would have thought of. I can say that I could understand both sides of the argument; to discuss the situation, and also be reluctant to talk about it.
A couple of things I didn’t like. One was how Violet was portrayed in this book. Yes, she was a bit over the top in Pucked and in Pucked Up, but she seemed to be ridiculously outrageous and out of control to the point of being obnoxious. I am guessing we are supposed to chalk it up to her being stressed out about the wedding planning. It seemed to me like Alex spent all his time being her babysitter and trying to keep her from being a complete embarrassment. I know this was not their story, but I didn’t like what was done to her character in this book.
Another thing was the automatic assumption that as the child you are going to take on your parents had behavior. The fact that you get to make the decision about the person you want to be completely separate from your parents was not mentioned until almost the end of the book.
Lastly, I wished Randy had been a little more forceful with the “puck bunny” he drove home. I really wished he had just paid for an Uber for her if he was being gentlemanly.
That being said, there were sweet moments, romantic moments, sexy moments, and 13 yo boy humor moments among the ladies. I think they beat out the hockey players with their raunchy conversations. And to top all of that off, there were quite a few funny moments.
Randy and Lily sort of reached their HEA. If nothing else, they reached their HFN.
The narration was ok, but the female narrator spoke so much, I forgot there was a male narrator. When he would start to read his scenes, it was often startling to hear a male voice. I would give this book 3.5 stars.
I have to check and see if Lance and Tash get their story. I may keep listening just to see if Violet’s character goes back to the way it was in book one, and to see if Alex and Violet ever get married. Luckily I can listen via Audible Escapes.
‘Pucked Over’ might be my favorite Helena Hunting novels of all of the Helena Hunting novels. Lily LeBlanc has been in a dead-end relationship for a long time, and she can’t help but be drawn to the charismatic hockey player, Randy Ballistic. Their off-the-charts chemistry and easy friendship draw them into a casual fling. But as feelings develop and deepen, it becomes obvious that what they’re doing is far from casual.
This novel exudes sexiness. I don’t think I’ve ever read a romance novel where there was more palpable chemistry between the two protagonists. Lily and Randy draw you in, and you’re there for the fun, sexy, and unpredictable romp. We also see the other supporting cast of characters that we’ve seen in the previous Pucked novels, and I’m totally here for it. This series is addicting, and I can already tell this book is going to be my favorite of them all.
4.5 STARS
NO SPOILERS!
Pucked Over was a fun, sexy, and hilarious standalone sports romantic comedy in the Pucked series, and I really enjoyed Randy and Lily’s story.
Helena Hunting did a fantastic job with the storyline and characters, and I loved her writing style and freaking awesome sense of humor. I thoroughly enjoyed Randy and Lily’s story from beginning to end, and was very happy with the conclusion. I also loved getting to see so many familiar faces again, especially Violet. She and most of the other secondary characters were an absolute riot, and they made me laugh so many times I lost count.
Helena continues to write sexy, entertaining, and unputdownable standalones with tons of playful, witty, and hilarious dialogue, and characters you can’t help but love. Pucked Over was definitely another MUST READ from this author. I am shamelessly addicted to the Pucked series and can’t wait to read the rest!
