I’ve never been in love.I’ve never had an orgasm, but I’ve faked plenty.I want to experience love. Real, passionate love.I don’t want to die. It’s funny what blurts out of your mouth when the plane you’re on is going down, and I didn’t hold back with my seat mate when my plane decided to crash. My hysterical confessions didn’t faze the muscular stranger that sat beside me. In fact, he promised if … me. In fact, he promised if we survived, he’d give me my first orgasm.
We survived.
I came.
And then he left without telling me who he was.
On the first day of my job, I stood in front of the Vancouver Wolves hockey team and called out a number. #33.
Imagine my shock when he skated forward.
Max is an incredible hockey player, whose wild, out-of-control antics have almost derailed his career. So many secrets shroud his past and continue to threaten his future.
Now he’s my secret. And that secret could ruin everything.

This is Max and Rory’s story which begins with them surviving a plane crash together! Nope never read that storyline before so was happy for something a little different. There was hilarious word vomit from Rory as the plane went down and some tender care and support from Max. They part ways but are brought back together by work. Secrets galore and plenty of steamy sneaking around to eventually find their happy.
The narrator was a little slow for my liking but that was easily solved with a smidge of a speed up. She did a good job of giving us all the emotions and funny moments. A decent audiobook worth listening to.
There is plenty of balance in this story, funnies, feels and heat.
I really enjoyed this book. it wasn’t your typical rich girl meets rich guy, it showcased a strong female that was relatable. It was a love story and they had some issues to overcome but it wasn’t your typical pregnancy scare.
Keep me hooked from the beginning!
One of the most entertaining books I’ve read in a while. Her books always give that something extra while still being romantic.
I thought the book was well-written and would read other books written by this author.
Why hadn’t I read this book sooner? This was an adorably sweet and sensual story. Rory and Max are perfectly matched, it may have been a slow burn between them but their connection was undeniable, their chemistry was palpable, and their friendship was beautiful. I adored every single second of this book.
Fun!
Loved!!!!!
Loved everything about this book. Fast pace, likable characters, a roller coaster of emotions. Max and Rory first experience was their bond. Beautifully written. My only negative is, I wanted to hear his POV, but still an awesome read.
This top tier sports romance contains a workplace trope with a strong female lead and is told in first person. Rory Ashford returns home to fulfill a family obligation: an internship at her father’s beloved NHL franchise. It’s the last thing Rory wants, until Max Logan becomes her first professional assignment.
Unknown to anyone, Max and Rory previously bonded during a near death experience. Keeping their connection a secret with so much at stake for both them is an entertaining high wire act to watch.
The setting is firmly entrenched in the world of professional hockey with an authenticity that’s not bogged down with too much detail. But perhaps the best part of the author’s craft is the introduction of suspenseful elements without displacing the romance. Despite all that happens, Rory and Max’s feelings for each other remain their primary motivation. Very well done.
I scored a winning goal when I discovered this new author that writes my favorite sports genre. This first book of the series give me more than what I normally expect in a romance read. Likable characters, a well written storyline and a chemistry that sizzles from first contact. I loved Max’s character, he was your normal hot alpha male but he had integrity and heart. You won’t be able to help but love Rory and Max together, so unexpected but so well match. A lastly the many surprise and twist that I was pleasantly enjoyed made the story more entertaining. I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series that doesn’t disappoint.
This was my first book by Odette and I am a fan. I love hockey romances and Puck Me Secretly delivered! It was the first book in the Vancouver Wolves Hockey Series and was a fun and flirty read.
Rory and Max met in one of the worst ways possible; a plane crash. Luckily everyone walked away including Max after they had an amazing night together.
Rory assumed she would never see him again but to her surprise he was the newest hockey player on her team. Would they be able to keep a relationship or would his past ruin everything?
I loved Max!! Who doesn’t like a big, sexy, hunk? He may have been misunderstood but Rory took the time to get to know him and boy, did she score! They made such a cute couple!! I can’t wait to see what will be up next for the Vancouver Wolves!
I loved these characters. Great story.
SO I was in the mood for a sports romance but I have read most of the usual suspects. After a lot of searching I came across this one on KU and it sounded like the perfect read for my mood. Odette being a new to me author meant I went into it with some apprehension.
It wasn’t long before I was completely sucked in. There were a few moments where I thought the drama was getting to be a little much but I was so invested I quickly got over that and held my breath waiting to see how it was going to play out.
I loved Max and Rory. They had such great chemistry from their first meeting. And I loved that with everything going on they both acted with maturity. And watching Max go all protective alpha, while trying to maintain the secrecy of their relationship was awesome.
I am so happy that this is a KU series so I can head on over to binge the rest of the books.
KU. This book surprised me (in a good way). The title felt like this was going to be more sex, less plot ~ but while the sex scenes were amazing, there was a solid story here. I tend to prefer dual POV, and this book was completely Rory’s POV, but it absolutely worked for me.
Max and Rory have a crazy start. Then they decide because of work circumstances to keep things purely professional. Slow burn reminding me of Mariana Zapata’s books. There’s angst, but it’s more external than internal so it doesn’t feel tedious. There’s several factors, and it gets slightly OTT toward the end, but not to the point of ridiculous.
I really enjoyed this and am looking forward to the next book.
Loved all three books
I loved everything about this book.
this is book is a stunner – funny witty. didnt put it down till the end
Loved, Loved, Loved this series so far…..you cant just read the 1st book!!
I loved this story – the romance, the mystery, the redemption. Highly recommended.
