A sweeping, second chance standalone romance!I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that’s been gnawing at me ever since—Presley. The woman I loved madly ten years ago. The woman I had to walk away from.At first, all I want is to sort out why I can’t get her out of my head. But … But as soon as I see Presley again, I know I have to win her back at any cost. Brilliant, captivating and utterly beautiful, she’s the one I want.Fate steps in when we’re asked to pair up to find a treasure in art and antiques. It’s an opportunity I can’t pass up—to uncover a path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making. Trouble is, Presley is tougher now, more wary, and she’s been hurt. By me. So it’s going to take a whole lot more than one hot kiss and a wild adventure together to convince her to give me a second chance.

Hunter and Presley have a great love story then just like that it is over. He has left and gone to the other side of the earth for glory and fame and left her heart broken. Years later when she had a perfect job opportunity will she be able to take it knowing Hunter will be part of the equation?
This is such a fun book with a treasure hunt in the midst but the treasure they are really on a journey to find is their lost love for one another. Their are clues along the way and they will have to work together to get the final reward but it is worth the journey.
I received an early copy to read and review with my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it. Great love story.
This was a charming and entertaining second chance romance. I enjoy it when couples who are meant to be are reunited. Hunter and Presley are thrown back together after 10 years apart. They embark on this adventure that has them traveling all across the city. And while on this adventure, they rediscover how much they mean to each other and the love they share. It was sweet watching them reconnect together. Hunter and Presley were a captivating couple. They meshed together perfectly and I loved their banter and interactions. I also immensely enjoyed the second part of this story which was the adventure. Discovering the treasured nuggets was amusing and also lovely. I was captivated throughout the story and I couldn’t wait to see how it plays out. Lauren always gives a good story and P.S. It’s Always Been You was no different. A heartfelt and fun story.
4.5 Stars for P.S It’s Always Been You
If you love second chance romances you will love Hunter and Presley’s story and I’m sure like me you will be captivated from the first page to the last line. This is book that has a lot going for it, a couple you can’t help falling for and a plot that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

Presley and Hunter had a secret whirlwind romance years ago, but Hunter’s work led him to a secret assignment and he didn’t think a long distance relationship would work with his plans. Over the last few months he has been rethinking his choices, wondering if he will regret that mistake for the rest of his life. Presley has tried to ignore news of Hunter, as she tries to pick up her flailing career. Her dreams have not taken off nearly as fast as Hunter’s, and it is hard for her to see his success knowing he is happy and she is struggling.
Presley’s work is starting to look positive, and her boss wants her to work a new assignment that could line up everything she’s always dreamed of. She is excited for the possibilities until she sees who she will have to work with. Hunter was on board the moment he heard who he would be working with, but Presley is more hesitant. She can’t afford to lose her heart now.
I loved the second chance aspect. Hunter knows what he wants now. His near-death experience has him focused in a way he never was before. But Presley is on guard after the way he left the last time. She isn’t willing to let herself get hurt again.
I also loved the hunt aspect of this story almost as much as watching Presley and Hunter rediscover what they had. Theirs is not the only love story unfolding on the pages, and I loved the story within the story almost as much as I loved the main story. The little clues in the present, the way the discoveries uncovered the story from the past, all the little details had me clinging to every moment.
This is a second chance story with a twist. As Presley and Hunter hunt through the city to find the answers to their questions, they also face the pain in their past and the friendly, flirty ease between them that seemed to slip back into place quickly. It has all the characteristics I’ve come to expect from Lauren and had me pulled into a book faster and more completely than I have been in some time.
P.S. It’s Always Been You by Lauren Blakely
This was a sweet and exciting second-chance romance. Hunter and Presley met and fell in love some years ago only for Hunter to take off on a mysterious dream job and not be heard from again. For ten whopping years! They’re thrown back together for the sake of their jobs and it doesn’t take them long to find themselves falling all over again but really, what’s changed? Hunter will still up and go on his next big adventure once it’s over, right?!
I feel like this book was a journey for both Hunter and Presley and also for me as a reader. All the discoveries they made created a huge element of a deeper romance which was wonderful and something I hugely enjoyed. I could understand Presley’s apprehension in letting Hunter back in on an emotional level and the way that aspect played out was perfect for them. I really felt like for most of the book I was waiting for Hunter to kind of grow up – I don’t know if that’s the right way to put it but I can’t articulate well at the moment – and it pleased me to no end when he finally did.
*I voluntarily read an early copy of this book.

A fun second chance at love storyline, scavenger hunt style. I really enjoyed Hunter and Presley’s chemistry and flirty banter. This read will keep you guessing and turning the pages for more. Another hit by Lauren Blakely.
I could not put this amazing book down! What’s better than an epic second chance love story? Another epic love story woven seamlessly within it of course! This story is sweet, heartwarming, adventurous, romantic and funny all wrapped up in that perfect delivery that is the writing of a Lauren Blakely. Ten years ago Hunter and Presley were madly in love. But when Hunter gets the opportunity to go on the adventure of a lifetime he chooses that over Presley. Now a decade later these two wonderful older and wiser people are paired together to work on a new adventure/mystery of sorts. Each clue they find and each day that passes brings them closer together. It’s a beautiful journey of rediscovery. But can Presley trust that Hunter will stay this time? Is his love for her more important than anything else? I was absolutely glued to the pages and mesmerized by the trail of the letters and Edward and Greta’s great love story. I felt like I was finding all the clues and letters with Hunter and Presley. This was such an incredibly romantic story, well both of them were. I loved it!
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a second chance romance that will take you on an adventure and make you forget the real world.
Hunter and Presley had a whirlwind romance. They were planning a future together. Until Presley is left heartbroken suddenly and Hunter is off on a new adventure. Ten years pass and they have the chance to work together. Will Hunter be able to win back the girl he never forgot about? Will Presley let Hunter in again?
I loved the chemistry between Hunter and Presley from the start. You could feel Presley’s pain and heartbreak over Hunter from the start. She wasn’t going to let him back into her heart just because they were forced to work together. I loved the adventure and the mystery this story brought. It was something fun and different. The banter and flirting between Hunter and Presley was great and you could still feel there is something between them, even if they didn’t want to give into it.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a MUST READ book that will take you on a wild adventure and steal your heart.
Hunter and Presley make the most of their second chance!
Second-chance romances start with a huge hurdle: how to explain their initial breakup in a way that doesn’t involve the kind of damage to either of the MC’s character that would preclude their eventual reconciliation. In this story, it was easy to see that their “ten years ago” separation was unavoidable and understandable, but his obligations were over within a year and we’re not really given much explanation for why it took him another nine years before deciding he couldn’t live without Presley. This left us to conclude that his career – which flourished during this time – really was more important to him than she was. Ouch.
However, overlooking that is easy once we’re drawn into the treasure hunt that, while somewhat reminiscent of another of this author’s recent books, still feels fresh and unique for this couple and gives them the framework necessary within which to explore their second chance.
This is Presley’s time to shine, and she practically glows with ambition and determination without letting either overshadow what her heart really wants. She’s a terrific character and I was rooting for her HEA right from the start.
The surprising conspiracy revealed at the end explained questions that I still had as well as some that I hadn’t even considered. By the HEA Hunter has redeemed himself quite nicely, and the epilogue was sweet and satisfying. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a fabulous second-chance romance that not will not only make you fall in love right along with the characters but it’ll take you on a trip back in time as the main characters set out to solve a fun mystery. Blakely added just the right amount of suspense to keep me turning pages throughout to find out how the story would pan out. Based in the present and using letters from the past, the story flows beautifully as Presley and Hunter discover an epic love story while rediscovering their own from years past.
I loved the characters in this story. Presley is strong, smart and driven. And she’s real. When faced with an ex that she can’t forget….she does exactly as I’d do! Hunter is the ultimate adventurer. He lives for extreme sports and is always searching for his next thrill. He’s a successful television star and author and just happens to be Presley’s ex. She’s his one greatest regret and a chance to work with her to find hidden “treasure” is something he can’t refuse. Their relationship is easy, fun and comfortable. Despite being apart for ten years, these two fall back in step quickly and I loved watching them reconnect and rebuild their relationship. Rounding out the story is a class of colorful characters that are eccentric and loveable. They each play an important role in bringing Presley and Hunter back together again unbeknownst to the couple. Blakely ties the story up perfectly with an ending that readers will adore. 4.5 stars
P.S. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU by Lauren Blakely is a contemporary, adult story line focusing on thirty seven year old extreme explorer Hunter Armstrong, and thirty-five year old historian / archivist Presley Turner.
NOTE: P.S. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU was originally released as a three part serial.
Told from dual first person perspectives ( Hunter and Presley) using present day and letters from the past, PS IT’S ALWAYS BEEN YOU follows the second chance romance between thirty seven year old extreme explorer Hunter Armstrong, and thirty-five year old historian / archivist Presley Turner. Ten years earlier Presley Turner had fallen in love with Hunter Armstrong but Hunter was about to leave to explore the world. An opportunity of a lifetime turns into ten years of silence leaving a heart broken Presley to mourn the loss of the man that she has never forgotten. Fast forward to present day wherein Hunter returns from his latest adventure, with the opportunity to work with the woman he has always loved. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Hunter and Presley as they begin a journey of a lifetime, reliving a life that could mirror their own.
Presley Turner and Hunter Armstrong have been commissioned to unravel the mystery surrounding the life and love between the Caribaldis and Valentinas, a treasure hunt of sorts, but as their journey of discovery unfolds, the letters reveal a deeper and more familiar story. All is not as it appears to be as our couple uncover the clues that will lead them to their own happily ever after.
The relationship between Presley and Hunter is a rekindling romance that was destroyed ten years earlier when Hunter left without looking back. An extreme explorer and sports enthusiast, Hunter was all about the next thrill but he never forgot about the woman he left behind. The $ex scenes are limited but passionate.
There is large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters, all of whom have a connection to our story line couple, and the journey between the past and the present.
P.S. IT’S ALWAYS BEEN you is a story of heart break and love; second chances and hope. The premise is sweet and intoxicating; the characters are energetic and dynamic; the romance is seductive.
This story was the perfect escape and reading it just made me happy. I’m pretty sure there is not a second chance romance story like this one out there. It was fun, sweet, beautiful and fascinating.
Another fun, flirty, sexy read from a tried and true rom com author. I loved Hunter and Presley’s steamy journey throughout this book and the interaction with the secondary characters that were as interesting and intriguing as the primary characters and storyline. Just another reason why I love this author’s writing so much. Definitely recommend!
A romantic story of second chance at love!
This was such a fun and entertaining story about Hunter and Presley’s second chance at love. It was so much fun to watch these two come together for a treasure hunt and to be pulled into a love story from a couple from a long time ago. I enjoyed the clues that they got and how they worked through everything. I loved the way that they both took a second look at their past together and what they wanted for the future from everything that they learned from this past couple’s love letters. It was a very entertaining story. I always enjoy reading Lauren Blakely’s stories and this one did not disappoint. Don’t miss out on reading this one.
Wow, just when your heart is full, Lauren adds more characters to it! 5 shiny stars for this one! You will absolutely fall in love with Hunter & Presley! Their second chance love story was written so well, and the way Lauren brings these two back together, is so much fun! I will also recommend you listen to the audible version of this book if you get a chance! So make sure you grab hold of this story when it releases, you don’t want to miss out on this adventure, fun filled story!
Presley and Hunter were young and in love. While on a little vacation, they thought a long distance relationship could work between them. Unfortunately, Hunter gets a call on a job he can’t possibly pass up and brakes up with Presley over the phone leaving her broken hearted.
Presley is an art historian trying to make a name for herself but unlucky for her, she just hasn’t been able to catch a break. Good thing for her her boss proposes the job of a lifetime to finally get her name out in the art world. The only downfall, working with her ex.
Hunter is an adventurer who has succeeded in his life. He has lived life to the fullest with no regrets or so he thinks. After one scary moment in his life does he reconsider if he really has lived the best life. Hunter finally gets to see Presley again while he gets to work on a project trying to find a hidden treasure. Once he apologizes and starts on this little adventure with Presley does he realize that his feelings for Presley never changed. But will Presley give him another chance and let their love take them on new adventures or will she simply love on after their job is done?
This second chance romance is one of the best I have read so far. You simply will not be disappointed and will want to uncover the treasure they find.

Hunter Armstrong is a man who tries not to have regrets. He lives his life to the fullest just as he was taught to do. He is an adventurer, survivalist, author, and documents his daring stunts on his own show and special. For all intents and purposes, he is living his dream…but when a stunt goes wrong, the one regret he tried to bury keeps coming to the forefront of his mind.
Presley Turner was the girl he loved and left ten years ago to set off on adventures. But now her face is who he keeps seeing and wondering about. Her life has not gone quite like she hoped and she is struggling in her career and love life. But she is smart, talented, sweet, and motivated
When an opportunity arises that would put them in close proximity of working together on a project, Hunter jumps at it while Presley is worried. She is afraid she will not be able to resist this successful, charismatic, charitable Hunter and will get her heart broken again. Especially when he seems to be on the pursuit despite the fact she is putting up resistance.
As they follow a mystery in their project, it stirs up feelings, and the secrets found illustrate how important true love can be.
These two are fun together and just fit. Hunter is that man that can do anything and succeed, but he has a hard time knowing when to stop and just relax. Presley’s life has been in a rut, but she is so motivated to succeed that she is always looking ahead to the future and what needs to be done. They have smoking chemistry and fun rapport. They have history, both good and bad. She has the ability to both keep him in check, but also support him. And he always believed in her talent and pushed her towards success. They are both so intelligent and analytical that they can see clues and angles and work together for answers. They make a great team.
But she might be misjudging his determination to have her back in his life. And the temptation, flirting, kisses, and desperation are hard to ignore. But she is not someone who wants to give up on her dreams or make someone give up theirs. So that will leave right back where they were before with choices or sacrifices to be made.
This is a fun, sexy, second-chance love story reignited while unraveling an unexpected mystery. It is also a love story within a love story and there are some fun twists I did not see coming. This is a stand-alone story, but Lauren Blakely fans will see familiar faces.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a wonderful second chance love story. I was very invested in this story from the outset. There was a bit of mystery and intrigue in it, which was refreshing and fit so well with the characters.
Over the last decade, Presley has never gotten over Hunter leaving her to go on a once-in-a-lifetime adventure. She’s now struggling with her career and things are not going as she had hoped that they would. When a project comes up at work, all of a sudden, Presley is brought face-to-face with the fact that she’s going to be working closely with Hunter. As the two embark on a journey to find a hidden treasure, they are led down a path that they weren’t expecting, but that ends up teaching them both a very valuable lesson. Will their previous connection lead them to pick up right where they left off 10 years ago, or has too much time past?
I did not want to put this book down. I enjoyed the air of mystery that their search provided and I loved all of the intricate clues and where that led them. Kudos to Lauren Blakely for this amazing idea and for bringing it to life. This is one of my favorite reads of the year so far!
Lauren Blakely not only gives us an amazing second chance romance, she gives us an incredible journey of love.
Hunter & Presley story begins ten years ago but when life pulls you in an direction you think you should take it and live that life, but sometimes there always will be a should I have done it differently moment.
We will watch this Amazing Couple reunite for a job that will benefit both of their careers, but just maybe it might reunite there relationship. Watching them go on this journey will have you swooning from page one right up until you see the words The End.
A standalone, second chance romance with a fun archaeologist expedition component mixed in. When you’ve lost the love of your life and she is, for lack of a better term, a treasure hunter what better way to win her back than to go on a treasure hunt. This is the heart of P.S. It’s Always Been You. Hunter and Presley solve a century old love story, while they piece their own hearts back together.
A decade ago Hunter and Presley were a couple, then Hunter took a job that was not only life altering for his career, but it took him away from Presley. She was not quite as fortunate on the career front and years later still just a little angry that he just up and left from their relationship. When he returns and wants another chance she’s not sure about giving him one. While he’s had a fantastic life for the past decade and did the leaving, with what appeared very little hardship, her heart couldn’t take him doing the same thing once again.
If it’s one thing that Lauren does really well in her writing, it is writing a heartfelt apology. Hunter realizes that Presley is hurt, even after all the years that have passed. Instead of giving a blanket “I’m sorry”, he delivers a sincere, heartfelt apology. Lauren digs deep to the pain or misunderstanding so that characters can get back to their romping good time. I think this is why her books are always so enjoyable.
Hunter and Presley search for clues to a century old love story, one that take them throughout New York City and reconnecting along the way. For Hunter it is an adventure, something that he craves. For Presley it touches the historian in her. Now if only they could continue this journey forever so their time would never end.
