A sweeping, second chance standalone romance!I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that’s been gnawing at me ever since—Presley. The woman I loved madly ten years ago. The woman I had to walk away from.At first, all I want is to sort out why I can’t get her out of my head. But … But as soon as I see Presley again, I know I have to win her back at any cost. Brilliant, captivating and utterly beautiful, she’s the one I want.Fate steps in when we’re asked to pair up to find a treasure in art and antiques. It’s an opportunity I can’t pass up—to uncover a path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making. Trouble is, Presley is tougher now, more wary, and she’s been hurt. By me. So it’s going to take a whole lot more than one hot kiss and a wild adventure together to convince her to give me a second chance.

Second chance romances are one of my all time favorite tropes. There’s something just so satisfying about them to me-and P.S. It’s Always Been You definitely left me satisfied. This story was so sharp, smart and so intricate. I was sucked into this story and these characters from start to finish. P.S. It’s Always Been You left me sighing and smiling-and as always, wishing I lived in this little universe!
I love how this story is told. I enjoyed getting to know Hunter and Presley. Now, I’m not going to lie. There were moments here where Hunter just drove me crazy. It took a bit for him to grow on me. While I understood his outlook, I didn’t always agree with it. But he did grow on me, and I did absolutely root for him and for Presley. I think the way these characters came together was just right for them.
This isn’t the first Lauren Blakely book to feature a scavenger hunt, but I have to say how much I loved the hunt in this book. It was epic in and of itself and I appreciated how it was woven into this story. Definitely made me swoon!
This book flowed so well for me. It’s smart and fun, which I’ve come to expect from this Author, and there is some heat as well. I loved falling in love with these characters, and enjoyed their journey immensely.
A heroine that’s all about romance and a hero that finds himself wanting to give her everything her heart desires…yes, you have another Lauren Blakely story.
Once upon a time, Hunter and Presley thought they might have a fairytale ending. But alas, the Hero turned out to not be the Charming Prince. Hunter gave Presley hope only to dash it away, with a harsh goodbye.
The years have been good to Hunter. He’s reached success beyond his wildest dreams. But one turn of events has him re-evaluating his life and thinking about the woman he let go. Presley has moved on, not like she imagined or wanted, but she was happy.
All systems are go until an opportunity that neither of them can ignore presents itself. Hunter finds himself not only missing Presley but desperately wanting her back. Presley feels the draw but remembers the hurt. While trying to complete this adventure they’ve been presented, both realize they have unfinished business. But once again, opportunity knocks…will they answer or close another door?
I love this couple. Presley is a romantic at heart and Hunter, well, he is the Hero that kisses so good your toes curl and foot pops!
If Lauren Blakely’s other books, The Decadent Gift and One Night Stand-In had a baby, this would be it! The plot of the two previous works are somewhat similar to this one, but I’d say this one is deeper, more heartwarming, and has more drama and more twists. It’s much longer than most of her works too because this one already includes parts one, two, and three. Plus, there’s a story within the story. LOVE IT!
What’s not different, however, is the on-point chemistry and witty banter that I’ve come to expect from this author; and as usual, characters from previous novels are featured in this one, but it’s not necessary to read the previous books to enjoy this one.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a slow-burn, second chance contemporary romance written in dual first-person POV. It’s a standalone that ends with an HEA. No cliffhanger, no cheating.
I received this book at my request and have voluntarily left this unbiased review.
Lauren Blakely’s “P.S. It’s Always Been You” was a delightfully adventurous romantic comedy that I thoroughly enjoyed. This story features an art historian and an adventurer tasked with cataloging antiques from a famous explorer’s estate where he is rumored to have hidden a buried treasure. Unsurprisingly, they manage to fall in love in the process, but you’ll have to read the book for yourself to find out whether they discover the estate’s hidden treasure. 😉
This book gave me major Indiana Jones vibes, and I couldn’t help but picture the male lead character, Hunter, as a young Harrison Ford. I especially loved the adventure aspect of the story, with Hunter and his love interest, Presley, working together to figure out the clues left behind in letters from the original owners of the estate, Edward and Greta Valentina. I also enjoyed the way that Edward and Greta’s love story paralleled Hunter and Presley’s; there was an interesting dichotomy between the two couples’ experiences and plenty of lessons for Hunter and Presley to take away from the older couple’s journey.
In addition, I adored the slow burn of Presley and Hunter’s relationship development over the course of the story. There were real obstacles standing in the way of their relationship, but it was clear how much they cared about each other and wanted to find a way to make it work. Even after ten years apart, Hunter and Presley were very well matched. Hunter remained Presley’s biggest cheerleader and encouraged her to pursue her career goals, while Presley understood Hunter’s need for adventure and didn’t try to make him choose between exploring the world and building a life with her.
Overall, “P.S. It’s Always Been You” was a refreshing change from the other romantic comedies I’ve read lately, and is certainly a new favorite for me among Lauren Blakely’s works. I look forward to reading whatever she publishes next!

Presley Turner and Hunter Armstrong had a whirlwind romance 10 years ago. Then life happened, decisions were made and they parted to find their dreams.
Life was kind to him and he found so much more than he could ever imagine while she’s still struggling to make her mark, but then an opportunity that can change her career comes her way. The catch: she has to partner with the man that broke her heart long ago in order to make it happen.
This book is a second chance at love story with some seriously romantic undertone to it. Presley and Hunter were in love, but were at that point in life where they needed to chase their dreams. After 10 years, he has regrets and doubts and when the opportunity to be with her again presents itself, he’s not going to waste it, but she’s older and wiser and not ready to let hope and pretty promises get the best of her.
The hunt for a precious treasure will give them a new perspective on their lives and what they should do and, while chasing the explorer’s story, they’ll discover their path to their own HEA.
It’s no secret I think Ms. Blakely is an undisputed queen in the romance genre and I think this book is a solid proof of the reason. Only a first class author can manage to weave a story within a story and give us double the romance in one sweep.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a beautiful read, with the kind of old age romance and everlasting love that defies time and distance.
5 swooning stars
Another great story by Miss Blakely, I read it in one sitting because it was that amazing.
A great second chance romance with a touch of National Treasure mixed into the plot line! I tend to have a love/hate relationship with second chance romances… if the story doesn’t involve cheating then I love them, but I still catch myself holding grudges against the character who walked away in the past! Hunter is a sexy adventure seeker who walked away from Presley and their whirlwind romance 10 years ago to follow his dreams. It’s hard to fault him for following his dreams but I still side eyed him for the way he just walked out and didn’t look back until a near death experience 10 years later. Presley is in a rut, both in her professional and love life so even though Hunter is the last person she wants to see she can’t pass up the opportunity to work on a new project with him that can turn her career around. I absolutely loved the romance involved with the ‘hidden treasure’ of the Valentinas. The hunt for each letter and clue was great and exciting, the the letter themselves were so completely heartwarming… a romance story inside a romance story! And Lauren Blakely is the master of intertwining all of her previous characters into her new books so we get to see faces from the past!
PS It’s Always Been You is a second chance love story for Hunter and Presley. I was hooked by the storyline from the start! I love a second chance romance and tie it to treasure hunting? Done like dinner!!
In the past, Hunter and Presley were very much in love. But then Hunter left Presley to do some super secret, important job. Presley was heart-broken. It doesn’t make it any easier that years later, Hunter is a celebrity and his face is literally everywhere! Billboards, magazines, the TV! Then the unthinkable happens. She is paired up with Hunter for a work project! Now she has to SEE him in person and WORK with him too! Shoot me now! She has no choice though. Her job is on the line. What she wasn’t expecting was the emotional havoc he brings into her life!
I really enjoyed getting into the world of Hunter and Presley. This is part one, so it goes pretty quick! I felt their chemistry right off the bat! Presley had an awful time when Hunter left her, so those bitter feelings do reignite-but so do the underlying feelings she’d rather not indulge. We can also plainly see that Hunter still has feelings for Presley too. It seems he understands now what he gave up so many years before. It’s not going to be an easy road back. There is still a lot of baggage to sort through.
PS It’s Always Been You is part one of a three book series. If you are not a fan of series, you may wish to wait till all three parts are out to read them in it’s entirety! It’s a sexy and interesting read! I can not wait to see what happens in the next two books!!
I enjoyed this story so much. I love the adventure that Hunter and Presley get sent on together. Their tension and chemistry is high and trying to do the job while fighting their attraction added another level to the story. Second chance romances are usually my favorite and this story didn’t disappoint.
Great second chance romance for Hunter and Presley. They spent 6 romantic months together and she thought they would be together forever but that was not the case. Fast forward 10 years and they are brought back together on an amazing scavenger hunt. You will get two romances in this story and fall in love with both couples, old and new. Loved this read. I highly recommend this fun read to find an escape.
I read an early review copy of this book and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
PS It’s Always Been You is a swoony, angsty second chance romance by one of my top authors, Lauren Blakely.
Presley Turner and Hunter Armstrong had a short, steamy romance ten years ago, but separately to pursue their careers. Now, ten years later, fate has brought them back together. Hunter is keen to get their va-va-voom going again, but Presley knows she’d never survive the heartache she suffered the first time around. But, Hunter has his ways. There’s a mystery to be solved and only he and Presley can uncover the answers. All too soon she finds herself alone with him and it’s like they’d never parted.
Unfortunately, she was right about the heartbreak awaiting her and it’s all down to Mr Armstrong. He’s got his work cut out for him to make things right with the girl he never forgot.
Hunter was a sexy, hot guy, but he was a bit of an idiot too. He made some questionable decisions and Presley should have stuck to her guns a bit longer than she did. I loved how it all ended though. Love does redeem us.
Adorable! Lauren Blakely is one of my favorite authors and I adore this book! Hunter and Presely’s story was amazing! I love this fun, flirty, and, sexy story! HUGE FIVE STARS!!!
I was pleasantly surprised by this story, utterly charmed. Presley and Hunter had shared something strong for six months meeting on the road, and turning probably into something more until the moment Hunter broke her heart.
Then, ten years later, the man she couldn’t forget came back into her life. The successful tv star, adventurer and survival expert was more sexy and charming for her own good.
Presley is an enthusiastic curator, who loves to find the story behind found items, passionate about working in auction houses and museums.
I totally felt their passion for discovering and travelling, to feel and discover the extensive range
of what life and history have to offer.
I adored their natural chemistry and their journey through chasing down a love story in the making who made them realize what they were actually missing.
There was some angst due to their history but damn Hunter and his charming ways, reading her perfectly and making her feel things again. I appreciated how they were trying to be honest about their feelings and their aspirations. We might have thought the gap was widening between them but they were so aware of each other’s passion and career, respectful about it and so supportive of the other. I adored that.
Throughout this chase, the main characters found step by step their way to each other, as they discovered love letters written so many years ago, they learnt how to see things from another perspective.
The author wrote such a beautiful story that melted my heart. Presley and Hunter captivated me with this treasure hunt, finding the one that really mattered. Lauren Blakely developed a storyline that has an interesting twist along with a right dose of conflict and emotion.
It was engaging, delightfully sweet, incredibly romantic and swoony! Just swept off my feet!
Love these books!
All are standalones, but have interconnected characters that are fun to see again.
This one features Hunter and Presley who had a brief, but intense romance until life/career took them in different directions. Now fate has brought them back together, but Presley is understandably gun shy since Hunter broke her heart before.
The premise of this one is so interesting – a scavenger hunt of sorts in the art auction world. So unique, fun and lots of witty banter.
Less steam than many of Lauren’s books, but a delight nonetheless. LOVED IT!
I voluntarily requested and read an advance reader copy.
Another winner by Lauren Blakely!! A second chance for Hunter and Presley comes 10 years after their whirlwind romance. Can Hunter make Presley see that he wants her now and always after she has been badly hurt by him in the past? A great story!!
If the stars aligned and gave you a 2nd chance at true love would you take? Need a little help maybe? Hunter and Presley were madly in love 10yrs ago. Circumstances caused a turbulent break up. As the years progressed each moved on to other dreams hoping to find the “One”. Hunter is rugged, handsome, swoonworthy, smart, family oriented, and most definitely has a huge heart. After a near death experience during one of his adventures Hunter begins “rethinking” his life and certain choices over the years. Presley was devastated by the way Hunter broke off their relationship 10yrs ago. As a result she really has not found another man to make her heart beat the way it did while she was with Hunter. It seems the universe has decided to help these two lovers reunite, possibly. But first will these two allow the hurts of the past to stay in the past, be in the moment now, and give their hearts permission to love again? I love the writing style of Lauren Blakely. Her characters are so real with depth and complexity and such beauty, inside and out. The story within the story is just as beautiful. Thoroughly enjoyed PS, It’s Always Been You. Easy to rate 5stars.
P.S. It’s Always Been You!
This is a wonderful second chance romance with a mystery that the two main characters resolve together. Presley and Hunter had a relationship years ago, but Hunter left to follow a once in a lifetime opportunity, leaving Presley behind. Although they were apart, both still harboured unresolved feelings. Together again, the two follow clues to a treasure hunt and learn that their love is as much of a treasure.
Hunter is a TV star, author, and a man always looking for the next thrill via extreme sports. However, he always regretted what could have been with Presley. Presley is generally a strong woman, although she seems to forgive or let things go with little confrontation.
However, their relationship is fun and they quickly become comfortable with being together once more. I appreciated that Blakely spent more time on the relationship and character development than she normally does. This book is still hot, but not quite as sizzling as her other books (a point I actually enjoyed).
I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily reviewing it. All opinions expressed in this review are my own and given freely.
Caution: When reading have a box of tissues at the ready.
Hunter, a successful T.V adventure star, and Presley, an art enthusiast, took us on an adventure with them as they solved the mystery of the letters. Finding the letters helped them both to realize that love can conquer all. With some plotting behind their back, we see a chemistry between the two characters is off the charts. Sweet, romantic, and an honest to goodness treat to read. Lauren Blakley has brought some sunshine into my house with her romance filled book.
P.S. It’s Always Been You was fantastic. I fell in love with Hunter and Presley from the beginning in this wonderful second chance romance. These two were melting the pages, hoping to make a long distance relationship work, and then Hunter had the chance of a lifetime. He made a hard choice that left him with regrets and Presley with a broken heart. Fast forward ten years and things are about to change. These two rediscover themselves following a love story in a mysterious treasure hunting adventure. They soon find out what’s the biggest treasure of all. I fell in love with Hunter and Presley more and more with every exciting turn their story takes. I have one word to sum it up…SWOON! My romance loving heart is full!
Hunter and Presley have been falling in love with each other in the six months they have been together. Till Hunter gets a once in a lifetime opportunity to do an adventure that he has always wanted to do. He LIVES for adventure. So he leaves Presley with just a note.
Ten years later, by fate, they are matched up on a project in NYC and are set on a scavenger hunt to find love letters and clues.
They fall in love again, just like the love letters they are finding.
Was not my cup of tea, and I love Lauren’s books. Not funny as her books are normally and the plot kinda dragged.
