A sweeping, second chance standalone romance!I was pretty good at living without regrets until a way too close call during a skydive. Instead of my life flashing before my eyes, I saw one face, one regret that’s been gnawing at me ever since—Presley. The woman I loved madly ten years ago. The woman I had to walk away from.At first, all I want is to sort out why I can’t get her out of my head. But … But as soon as I see Presley again, I know I have to win her back at any cost. Brilliant, captivating and utterly beautiful, she’s the one I want.Fate steps in when we’re asked to pair up to find a treasure in art and antiques. It’s an opportunity I can’t pass up—to uncover a path back to the woman I let get away while we chase down a love story a hundred years in the making. Trouble is, Presley is tougher now, more wary, and she’s been hurt. By me. So it’s going to take a whole lot more than one hot kiss and a wild adventure together to convince her to give me a second chance.

I started P.S. Its Always Been You by Lauren Blakely with the Part 1 audio and loved it. Scott Eastwood as a narrator was everything. I hope he continues to narrate, because he is amazing at it. Anyway, then life got in the way and I was never able to finish the other two audible parts. So when I saw the eBook was releasing I was very excited to finish the story and I am so glad I did. I absolutely loved it. Just loved it.
Hunter and Presley met and quickly fell in love. Their chemistry and connection was undeniable. But they were young and still had many plans. They wanted to be together, but life had other plans and Hunter made a choice that changed everything. Now then years later they are brought back together by a project that can change things for Presley. She just has to keep her heart protected.
I have to say I cold not stop reading. I loved not only Hunter and Presley’s journey, but the adventures they followed as well. I think I just needed a story like this to get lost in. A great read!
Happy reading!
Loved this Second Chance
4.5 stars!
P.S It’s Always Been You Part 1
I really enjoyed Presley and Hunter. I didn’t realize how emotional parts of this would be, have tissues. I can’t wait for part 2
P.S It’s Always Been You is Lauren Blakely’s newest standalone full of adventure, romance, and fun. I have read every word Lauren has written and loved them all. The woman really can write anything. If you are a Lauren fan then you know she loves connecting her characters and that in itself is a puzzle I love putting together. The synopsis is perfect so I will make this fast. Maybe.
Ten years ago Hunter followed his dreams while leaving a piece of his heart behind. Presley believed the words he said and then he was gone. One phone call and their future disappeared. Now, he was back and she was ready for him. She was ready to work like the bad ass Art Historian she was. He was there in hopes of finding hidden treasure in the home of a famous explorer. She was there to find treasures within the home she would catalogue for a family auction. What they didn’t expect was to discover a love letter. A love letter of the beginning of a beautiful love story for the ages. A story to take them around the city. In a city where they first fell in love. Will the city and letters make them fall once again? Can Presley believe his words?
Omg! I absolutely loved and adored this story. I am seriously crazy about homes full of history. So much so that my favorite place to visit is The Winchester Mystery House. I would love to have Presley’s career. I just love the history of homes and the people in them. I visit cemeteries! The best is the one in Virginia City, NV. The history of it all is just amazing. So, this story was just for me. It had a love story within a love story. It was a hunt for the best treasures.
P.S I love he calls her Honey! It’s a classic and perfect for her.
P.P.S. This makes me want to go back to “The Box” that has been in my closet for 13 years. A box of memories from a stranger. A box of photos, articles of his death. A box of letters. I have written my own to try to find a family member. It’s time to get back to it!
Overall…It’s story full of adventures, treasures, kisses, moon pies, laughter, and love. It has it all. I didn’t want it to end and I am so happy that there is another story coming.
Quotes:
He kisses me like I imagine he’d climb a mountain—with passion and complete devotion to the task. His lips slide over mine and he explores my mouth, devouring me like I’m a treasure.
“This is one hell of an adventure, and I’m glad I’m exploring with you.”
“As if I need his Yoda-isms.”
“If I wanted affirmations, I’d get on a Pinterest board,” I say.
Hunter and Presley’s story made me feel like a teenager in love. From the hilarious banter to the swoony romance, and the off the charts hot chemistry between these two, I loved everything about it.
While learning about their past and reading about them working together, I couldn’t help but fall in love with these two. They are so right for each other. There is no denying the bits of angst my heart went through but it’s all worthy. Hunter had me swooning all the time.
A sweet sweet romance.
It did take me a little bit to get into it, but the scavenger hunt of sorts keep pulling me back in. Hunter and Presley have a history and are thrown back together. They have solid chemistry and really just have to overcome their past. I did listen to the audibles before the kindle came out.
Presley and Hunter 10 years ago were spending time together before it had to end. They had a great time together and shared all their imaginary dreams. Hunter got the opportunity of a lifetime and he left. Presley was broken, and has tried over the past 10 years to get over him.
Hunter is a star and an adventurist. After a near death experience he has someone on his mind he’s tried to get over for the past 10 years…Presley.
Karma throws these to together and oh what a journey they had! Riddles, clues, mystery and a lot of help makes for an unusual story. Gotta admit, I loved Greta and Edward’s story as much as I loved Presley and Hunter.
I just finished and it’s PERFECT! It pairs a second chance with a romantic mystery, and I can’t gush enough! I adored the fun adventure that Presley and Hunter went on together, and I especially loved how it all tied up so well at the end in such a happy little bow. Presley and Hunter had fantastic chemistry and make such a great team. Author Lauren Blakely never disappoints with her inventive and original storylines. Another winner from one of my favorite authors!
I listened to all three parts of P.S. It’s Always Been You in January and February of this year, and this had been one of my most awaited audiobooks because Lauren Blakely is a go-to author of mine. I’ll be honest, I was underwhelmed by the experience, due in large part to the male main narrator and the male main character of the book. So, when the opportunity to read the book came along, I wondered if not having Scott Eastwood’s voice would make this second go-around better. Well, it did, but not by a whole lot. I still wasn’t a fan of the hero’s, with Hunter never having done all that much between the time he chose the career he loved over the woman he was already in love with and the time they saw each other again. Add to that the way he actually ended things with her before, and Hunter winning me over was going to be a monumental feat. He never quite got there, unfortunately, but I will say that I liked the mystery element in the story, which led him and Presley to work together to uncover clues regarding a different–and more intriguing and endearing–love story. P.S. It’s Always Been You gets 3.5 stars.
This book was such a refreshing read! The plot is unique and very well-written. It is a sweet, sexy, swoony second-chance adventurous romance with a lot of adventure.
I am so taken with this love story. This book wasn’t just a romance, it took me on a suspenseful adventure/hunt with Hunter and Presley. This wasn’t your average romance. It is about taking chances, making mistakes, and then realizing said mistakes and doing whatever it takes to make up for them. It also isn’t just about one romance. It’s a romance within a romance! The twist at the end is the icing on the cake. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend reading it! I did not read the first book but I don’t find that I needed to in order to enjoy their love story. This definitely makes me want to go back and read the first book.
****ARC generously provided in exchange for an honest review.****
I really liked this second chance romance by Ms. Blakely. I am not sure how she does it, because every time I read one of her books I don’t think she can top it, but I am proven wrong. Hunter and Presley will take you on a ride you won’t want to get off.
They dated for six months and were in love, unfortunately they had a deadline and he walked away. He felt he was doing what was best for both of them. Ten years later he finally goes home and they are tasked with looking for a treasure together. She is trying to keep her job and he wants to spend time with her.
She doesn’t want to open her heart again and that is all he wants. He had a near death experience, and even though he’s a little slow as to what it all means, he does feel a pull towards her. I loved the added storyline of the scavenger hunt of love letters. It felt like we were watching them fall in love again as they were searching. Will they emerge together or farther apart?
I loved how he didn’t give up and how jealous he acted even though he didn’t have a right to. I appreciated how he realized something (no spoilers) and acted before she had to make an important decision. Their friendship and relationship was wonderful and I wish I could read more about them.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, voluntary review.
3.5 stars
P.S. It’s Always Been You is a sweet, passionate and charming second chance romance with an added fun treasure hunt element. As always, Lauren Blakely’s writing is fantastic. I love her unique way of telling a story (and in this case, a story in a story). The banter is on point and I live for the flirtiness of it all.
Presley and Hunter had an intense and brief love until a chance of a lifetime for Hunter caused him to end the relationship. 10 years later they’re reunited when they’re assigned to work on a project for her work and his adventure show. Even after all the years apart they still have chemistry between them.
While I did enjoy the story, I have to admit it wasn’t my favorite from Lauren Blakely. I just had a tough time connecting to these characters, Hunter especially. I am usually quick to fall for a Blakely hero. Unfortunately, in this case, I just couldn’t get over how abruptly Hunter left Presley. He was able to melt my heart slightly as the story went on but it was just not enough.
That being said, please don’t let this deter you from reading. Because, as I said above, overall, it was an enjoyable, fun adventure read.
Hunter and Presley were together years ago but Hunters dreams took him away from her. Now he’s back for work and he can discover why he can’t stop thinking about her. This was a fun book with a treasure hunt for love letters and plenty of laughs. I reccomend this book.
I’m a sucker for second chance romances and this story just sucked me right in! Hunter and Presley’s story was one with witty banter and great chemistry. Throw in a mystery that has them working together and this swoony romance will captivate you throughout the entire book! It’s a standalone romance that will have you smiling from start to finish!
This is a fabulous second chance at forever. Presley has she’s been hurt and one day she is reunited with the person who broke her heart Hunter. He is tall, sexy, famous and he walked away years ago. Hunter has many regrets and the most important one being, letting Presley go. When he was contacted to do this research with Presley, he saw this as his second chance to get her back and make her fall for him all over again. Witty, crazy amazing characters and the wild goose chase of this story makes this a must read . I honestly volunteered to review this story.
I am a big Lauren Blakely fan, and I tend to buy all of her books as soon as they are released. Hunter and Presley’s story was so much fun. It was an action packed adventure across New York City, and a treasure hunt that lead them both to rekindle a romance that started years earlier.
I loved the premise of the story – lovers reunited to solve a mystery by deciphering clues. The enthusiasm that both Hunter and Presley had for the hunt was infectious, and it really made for a fun read. The conversations that they had were full of humor, passion and joy.
Well written witty banter, great plot, depth of character and expressive emotions. What’s not to like?
Sweet second chance romance that will have you devouring every word within one sitting.
Hunter has to be one of Lauren Blakely’s sweetest and most definitely swoon worthiest hero’s to date. Living life to its fullest until one moment that has him thinking about the one he let go years ago.
Presley is sweet, quirky and maybe a little nerdy. Her life hasn’t turned out as she planned and now working with the one man who broke her heart. Can she avoid another heartache?
These two are sooooo cute!! Sweet and romantic read! Cannot wait for Cammi and Trevor’s story!
PS It’s Always Been You: A Second Chance Romance is the story of Hunter and Presley .
The prologue gave how this couple broke up due to Hunter taking a job on a expeditions to Alaska and breaking up with Presley over the phone. Hunter in their present day knew that his one regret was letting Presley go so when he got the second chance to be with her he went for it.
I enjoyed their second chance at love story.
Fantastic second-chance romance! This grabbed me right from the start with the terrific characters and the backdrop of a mystery and intrigue in the art history world. The hunky adventurer and the beautiful art historian are a divine pair. But will they be brave enough to take a second chance on love after ten years apart? Hunter has nothing to lose but he broke Presley’s heart the last time. The backdrop of the Valentina estate cataloging and the possibility of hidden treasure from the famed explorer’s home is a dream job for Presley and an adventure for Hunter. But the treasure is not what they thought and an exciting hunt begins for the two that takes them to an unlikely end and a wonderful second beginning for the two unless a new job offer gets in the way. I loved these two lovers right from the beginning. Their chemistry was fun and sexy and just wonderful. I wasn’t sold on the shenanigans revealed at the end but the ending and the epilogues were fabulous much like Hunter’s resolution for keeping the lovers together. This was an engaging read with an outstanding couple in Hunter and Presley and great secondary characters. It looks like Hunter’s assistant, Cammi and his colleague, Trevor are next on the adventure trail to love. Can’t wait! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
Art history and adventures oh my!
The story between Presley and Hunter has to be one of my favorite stories. The connection they had is something that you could almost touch. This is the story of your “what if” person coming back around and showing you what could have been. There is no second guessing the love and attraction that Hunter and Presley have for each other. The added bonus of them being on an adventure was lovely and thrilling in the same.
Every time I think that Lauren Blakely has made my favorite characters, she comes out with an even better couple.
Received ARC for honest review.
4 “You and me” stars!
Presley and Hunter were madly in love and willing to try to tackle a New York to Alaska long distance relationship. However, when Hunter gets a job offer that will take him halfway around the world with little access to phones and internet, he doesn’t think they can make it work. He ends up breaking both their hearts.
Ten years later, they find themselves face to face again and working together. The more time they spend with each other, the more they realize what they shared years before may not have been over after all, and what follows is is a sweet, heartwarming, second-chance romance that is sure to put a smile on your face.
P.S. It’s Always Been You is such a fun story, and I loved watching Presley and Hunter reconnect after the years. From heartbreak and anger to regret and forgiveness to finally hope, the emotion they go through is real and I felt it all.
Presley and Hunter go on a sort of adventure together and they have so much fun. They have great chemistry and there is a spark between them that they can’t deny. It was there when they first met and it is still there. They are great together and I can’t stop from smiling when these two are together.
Presley and Hunter are not the same people they were ten years earlier. I like how much they’ve grown and that they learn what is truly important to them. The realization of the mistakes that were made and what they are willing to do to make it work the second time around is well written and believable, and I loved how things come together.
The “adventure” they go on is entertaining and such a great addition of the story. The letters are one of my favorite parts, and I fell in love with Edward and Greta and the mystery of their love story. Totally swoony! I love that we get two romances in one, and I loved how everything played out. Including the twist!!
