But war with the vampires has thinned their ranks, so the Council has drafted Harry as … Council has drafted Harry as a Warden and assigned him to look into rumors of black magic in the Windy City.
As Harry adjusts to his new role, another problem arrives in the form of the tattooed and pierced daughter of an old friend—all grown up and already in trouble. As with every book on Dresden, this one is so fabulous I’ve read several times over. I’m so in love with this character and all the supporting characters in his life. The author does such a fabulous job brkng inng them all to life in each and every book in the series. Please keep them coming!
Love Jim Butcher. He is such a great world builder and the characters are three-dimensional. Hardy Dresden is a great character. I recommend starting from Storm Front and going from there. I also recommend his Furies series.
LOve the Dresden Files series
Loved it. I’m officially hooked on the series, completely immersed in Harry Dresden’s world. With Butcher’s fast-paced, engaging writing style, I’m on the edge of my seat in every chapter, eager to discover the new plot twists, new creatures, and the growth of these beloved characters.
Well done, sir. I’m already into the next one.
There’s nothing like the dry sarcasm of Harry Dresden, Chicago’s only professional wizard. In this installment, several competing groups of necromancers are each trying to take over (or possibly destroy) the world. Yes, there are zombies.
A Dresden novel carrying one from the previous vol. Great fun to follow Harry. Can’t wait for the next one. The short stories will have to do for now.
No such things as a bad Harry Dresden book
Great book
Love anything with Harry Dresden
Utterly exquisite. All the Dresden File books are!
Food story and interesting characters. I missed some of the intricacies because I haven’t read many of the early books in the series but still able to follow plot
I am a huge Dresden Fan so yes I love all of them!!
Jim Butcher takes me to an entirely new realm with his writing. I love his Dresden Files…THEY ARE THE BEST. The story line is GREAT, and could continue NOW, if he wanted it to…but all the books are FANTASTIC and have wonderful strong story lines, and characters you will love. Grab this book and dive in!
Another run in with the council for Dresden, and fair damsel to rescue fills Harry’s life as chaotic as usual. Never a dull moment for Harry.
I learned about this character when they made a T.V. Series out of it. That prompted me to get this book. Now I want to read the rest of the books. Great book and characters. Love this story.
Great book. I love the dresden books.
Love Jim Butcher books
I have read this whole series from the first to the last. It grows on you. Unpredictable in most ways, except that he always survives.
It’s a Jim Butcher / Harry book in the series. IMOA, nothing more needs said.
Not always happy, but I really enjoy this Wizard of Chicago. It reads a bit like reality in that he reacts and not everything happens for the better. I like the characters developed in this series and would like to meet many of them. That’s always a sign of a good story to me.
