Sweet romance of a first love. They were each other‘s first love. Rosalind finds out Nick has returned to town and has been hired at her school. Is it going to be awkward? He was her brothers best friend and her first. She has been in love with him since she was a teenager. Now that they are older and he is single again, will he return those feelings? This is a really sweet book about a teenage love that comes full circle and comes back together when they’re 30. Enjoyed it.
This was a good story. The characters were well written and the history given of the characters Nick and Rosa was enough that you could follow their present story thru the book. The ending was good too.

This book is a heartwarming love story. There are twists, turns and surprises that impact the happiness of Rosalinda and Nick. Most of the cause of all the problems can be laid in Rosalinda’s lap because she kept a secret from everyone and never thought about the consequences for her actions. Luckily Nick is just feels lucky when he gets his answers and they have a happy ending. This story was enjoyed.
Part of A Secret Teacher Romance series a well written story, about a one night stand that resulted in a son seven years ago for Rosalinda a physics professor and Nick the new chemistry professor at the school she teaches at. I enjoyed reading their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Professor Rosalinda Carlisle sat in her office, already tired from a long day which wasn’t over yet. She had papers to grade, a research project to work on, and students to see during office hours. Then she had to pick up her 7-year-old son, Dominic, and head home for dinner. She hadn’t seen the new “hot” professor her students told her about, but she wasn’t really interested. She hadn’t had anyone before or after her son’s father, and there wouldn’t be anyone else for her.
Nick MacRoberts looked at his tiny one-bedroom apartment with an air mattress and a couple of lawn chairs for furniture. His mom had come over to help him out since he was just moving here and had no idea what he needed. He was starting over, divorced after finding his wife with another man, and now a new job as a chemistry professor at the university. But even after the divorce, he was not vindictive against his ex-wife. He just wasn’t what she needed.
When the inevitable happens and Rosalinda finally meets the new professor, she finds that she is still in love with him. Will she tell him about their son? Or will she continue to keep the information a secret? And what will happen when his ex-wife comes back?
I really enjoyed this book. The most immediate theme that became apparent was the importance of family, the love that helps us get through anything. Nick is a good man who made a poor choice. Life doesn’t always give second chances. Will Rosalinda push aside her fears and offer them that second chance? Will Dominic finally get the father he never knew back in his life?

Gentle love story with a twist. Rosalinda’s innocence and inexperience was evident. Nick found his strength more as the story developed.

“All good things come to he who waits”. A quote from the English poet Lady Mary Montgomerie Currie (1843-1905).
That quote is especially true in this story. The book takes us on the journey through the eyes of Nick and Rosalinda, the main characters, as they get their second chance at a life together.
The story line is good, and all the characters are well thought out and interesting. The book was a one sitting read for me. The ending isn’t a given. I wasn’t sure that Nick and Rosalinda would find their way ‘home’ to each other. A few things stood in their way, as often happens in life. The book was a good read.
This story pulled me in from the very beginning and I could not put it down until the end. I cannot wait to read more from Jillian Riley.

Rosalinda has had a crush on her brother’s best friend since high school. They have one night together and then he was off to college. She attends his wedding with a secret she keeps to herself. He comes back home and reconnects with Rosalinda. They have a wild ride through the story. I see how not saying what is on your mind can cause a lot of hurt.

I gave it three stars because it was too contrived and lacked any real feelings. Both the H and h were unrealistic and her son was too accepting of everything, never questioning anything.

They had a short history of knowing each other. Yet, they never dated. I don’t find that strange at all especially when you know each others family. I thought they hid it well considering how they felt about each other. She may have helped their future together by telling him sooner. I think that if she had, it would have turned out better for both of them. The timing was off for them before. The space helped them mature enough to appreciate what they had together more.

Protective Professor is the story of Rosalinda and Nick who knew each other growing up in New Mexico. Nick has returned home after his marriage went south and his divorce was finalized. Both Nick and Rosalinda find themselves teaching at the same local college unexpectedly. Rosalinda is keeping a big secret from Nick, one that she feels sure will cause Nick to hate her. Misunderstandings and Nick’s ex-wife cause some ripples in their relationship on the way to the HEA ending.
This was an enjoyable book with no surprises. A mostly clean read that did not depend on sexual content to drive the plot.
Protective Professor by Jillian Riley is a sweet second-chance romance. It’s the story of Rosalinda, a physics professor at the local college…and her brother’s best friend, Nick….now a new chemistry professor there as well. They had a brief fling years ago, but nothing ever developed between them. He married and she is a single parent. But, both were hiding their true feelings….and then, there were the secrets.
Will they be able to get over the hurt from the past? Will they be able to trust one another again, after everything that happened? What about Dominic? Will he ever learn the truth? What about Janice?? Will she drive them apart??
This was a fun, sweet, tender, joyful story to read!!! I enjoyed it!!!
