First Janice needs to grow up even to she added to the story. This was a really good second chance story. I like how the connection really never left.

This was a great book by Jillian Riley ,,,
Rosalinda Carlisle was a low level professor who had just finished her PhD 4 years b4 , she could’ve gone into research in Physics but had decided against because the school offered her research prospects in a situation she was comfortable with ,,,,this was her school where she had gotten her degree and had worked in the private sector b4 coming back ,,,, She has a son named Dominic who is 7 years old ,,,, she has always told Dom that he didn’t have a father ,,, choosing to not tell him about his real father ,,,, she will never see Nick MacRoberts again anyway ,,,,, last time she saw Nick was at his wedding to Janice and Rosalinda was 6 weeks pregnant ,,,,
Nick MacRoberts has an ex wife named Janice ,,,, he caught her in bed with another man , they literally went from college to being married ,,,, he was a New Mexico born and raised boy,,, he took a job on the west coast , had a job in L/A ,,,, he had a best friend named Oscar Carlisle ,,,, he was so in love with Oscar’s sister ,,,, but he really screwed up and let her go,,,, and now she is in the same school as he is ,,,, and who is that blonde little boy that she has out at the park,,,, he looks just like Nick’s baby picture ,,,, how long has it been since she’s seen him last ,,,, ???
Thus was another great read from Jillian Riley ,,, she has an awesome way of telling a story ,,, I really do enjoy her writing and I’m sure you would too,,,, go out and grab the latest book,,,, it has action, adventure and some very steamy scenes that only Jillian Riley can write ,,,, I would so totally recommend this book to anyone,,,,, I have gotten this ARC voluntarily to leave a voluntary review,,,,,

I’m a sucker for second chance romances and this one was a doozy. Rosalinda and Nick’s history is complicated, made more so by the secret that Rosalinda kept from Nick as a result of their time together so when he comes back into her life and dredges up all those old feelings life gets very interesting indeed. Will Rosalinda continue to hang onto her secret, if she tries will she even be able to and if/when Nick finds out how forgiving will he be for being kept int he dark for so long and missing out on so much in his child’s life? The characters are wonderful and the story is emotionally complex and hugely entertaining.

I could not put this book down! It pulled me in from the first pages and would not let me out. You are going to Love this book! It is sweet, poignant, sexy, has just a little angst, and an adorable boy. Oh, and secrets. And of course HEA.
This is Rosalinda and Nick’s story. Nick is back home after a divorce. First time teaching. Rosalinda was his forever crush, but she was his best friend’s sister. Rosalinda teaches at the same college. Nick was her forever crush. But then life happened.
Rosalinda has a precocious 7 year old son, Dominick. When Nick rekindles the fires, he comes to love Dom, as well as Rosa. An ex who can’t let go complicates things. So does Rosa’s secret. Don’t worry, HEA is assured. Though the road is a bit bumpy at times.

WOW this story sure turned out differently from how I thought it would. I liked the challenges that Nick and Rosalinda had to work through and believe me every way you turned a new one popped up in there path, but through perseverance and the will to be together they just might get their hea. It’s exciting, dramatic, compelling and very steamy.

Love Lost and Found
In her new contemporary romance, Protective Professor, Jillian Riley entices the reader to explore several favorite motifs of romance—second chances, big brother’s best friend and single mom—weaving them into a sweet story of love and sacrifice culminating in HEA. Rosalinda Carlisle crushed for years on her older brother, Oscar’s best friend, Nick MacRoberts, never dreaming that he could possibly be interested in her.
Fate provides Rosa and Nick the opportunity to act on their unspoken feelings when their vehicle gets a flat in the desert at night, and they have time and opportunity. But, after that night, neither seems to have the nerve to give voice to their feelings and before newly graduated Nick leaves to conquer the world. Within weeks of his departure, Rosa knows that Nick may not have verbalized his affections, but he has left her with a special part of himself—she is pregnant. Nick, alone and dealing with what he thinks are unreturned affections, quickly meets and marries beautiful Janice, seeking the soulmate he had briefly found, but had left behind. Seven years later, blond haired, blue eye Nick returns home to Las Cruces, New Mexico, newly divorced and seeking to start over as a chemistry professor at the University of New Mexico. Learning his way around campus, he runs into Rosa, the girl he left behind, who has become the beauty she promised to become. She also has recently become a physics professor with a newly minted PhD. And, the spark that was ignited 7 years ago rekindles. But, dark-haired, green-eyed Rosa has kept a secret for seven years—she has a seven-year-old son with blond hair and blue eyes named Dominick. Unfortunately, the wife, Janice, who sensed that she was never fully loved by Nick, who had taken a lover and sought her freedom, now wants to start over.
Riley offers her readers a touching story that is easily embraced and cheered, seeking the HEA ending. However, there are moments that our heroine and especially hero, who are truly drawn to each other, seem to become stereotypical bumbling scientists who are emotionally unable to verbalize and act on their feelings. Nick especially seems to spend an inordinate amount of time in his head or in conversation with his younger TA or his own mom, trying to figure things out. Rosa is a sweet, loving mother who is willing to sacrifice her own love to protect her son. The sweet story of a family finding itself is an endearing read well worth exploring.

This just wasn’t good. It wasn’t written poorly it just fell flat. I didn’t like the fact that Rosa felt like a back up plan. They had zero chemistry and this just wasn’t sexy or romantic.

A well written book telling the story of two people coming together after several years apart, a mis-judged marriage and a secret baby. Enjoyable characters include a charming little scamp of a son and a protective but really cool older brother.

Does Jillian Riley EVER write a bad book? Not a chance. Loved this book, just like I loved each and every one of her other ones. And I can’t wait for the next one.
A tad irritating at times but isn’t that a true reflection of just how life & relationships are?
Yes it was frustrating but how would you act under similar circumstances & I felt their reconnection was destiny. I too might have experienced a child like extreme pleasure had my dad come to care after he left when I was a babe in arms, the hero actually didn’t even know he had a child so for me that’s acceptable. It took a leap of faith & trust to get their second chance & there were obstacles but the heart knows what it wants & needs. Flawlessly written as we’ve come to expect from this prolific author. I received an arc & this is my honest & voluntary review.
This is a second chance romance with a secret baby. Rosalinda and nick have a second chance after 7 yrs but will the secrets be to much? Have to read to find out.
