Wolf and his fellow SEAL team members have saved many lives, and been in even more harrowing situations, but their latest mission might prove the most difficult of all. Charged with rescuing American soldier, Sergeant Penelope Turner, from the clutches of ISIS, the men infiltrate the refugee camp where she’s believed to be held. The conditions are horrific, the search nearly impossible, but … Penelope herself could prove the key to their success…if the SEALs can interpret her clues.
An unforgiving desert, perilous mountain terrain, a rising body count and insurgents on the hunt…all of this and more stands between the SEALs completing their mission and returning home to their women, left to bravely deal with fears of their own stateside.
Sometimes a mission is more than one team can handle. With a little help from newfound friends, the SEALS won’t stop until they’ve won the day. Failure is not an option.
** Protecting the Future is the 8th and final book in the Seal of Protection Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.

A thrill a minute read from start to finish
Well I’m utterly exhausted after reading this emotionally draining story that wraps up the Seal of Protection series.
It’s a testament to how much of an amazing author SS is that I kept reading this story despite her almost giving me a heart attack at so many points in this story.
You don’t have to but trust me when I say you will be much more emotionally invested in this story if you read the rest of the books in the series before this one. Downside being, you’ll be emotionally invested in this book…
No spoiler but be prepared to want to un-read some parts at times as you will feel so worried. But of course this is SS, and whilst she will always take it to the line, our heroes will always save the day and come home to their true loves.
Baddies, baddass war fighters, babies and kick ass heroines are the order of the day here
What an emotional journey. A fitting ending to the series. (And it clearly sets up a future series.)
Just filling in some gaps in this author’s series and I found that I hadn’t read this one. I procrastinated at the start as it sounded ominous. Would the author kill off some characters as we come to the end of the series?
I shed tears during this read, are they happy or sad…read it and find out for yourself.
All the guys are in dangerous territory to secretly rescue a female soldier. ISIS have had her for months, is her time running out? The mission wasn’t smooth sailing at all, injuries and enemies everywhere, my heart was pounding.
All these guys, their loves and children badly need a HEA and you’ll be reading with your heart in your throat wondering if they will get it.
Great story. So much info and from so many different perspectives. Loved that it flashed between all the guys and their women back home because it’s definitely never a dull moment with them. Loved reading this story. I actually read Penelope’s story and loved the rest of that series before I got to this. So it was cool getting the back story about her rescue mission and everything that happened after I got her missing pieces from that story too. Loved all the guys and seeing them again and all the delta guys as well.
I love everything by Susan Stoker!!
I liked how this story links characters between different series, with some of my favourites popping up on the pages. I also wanted to read Penelope’s back story before starting her story. The story has angst and this underlying threat of an enemy that knows how to hide. Was happy they finally went in to save Penelope.
“Protecting the Future” is the final book in the Seal of Protection series and it is oh so hard to say goodbye to this lovable group of men and women. The team have to go on another mission to rescue Sergeant Penelope Turner, an American soldier being held by ISIS. Wolf, Abe, Cookie, Mozart, Dude and Benny all have to leave their women and children at home and rely on their skills and their friend Tex to get them through this. Sometimes even the best need help and some newfound friends supply just that.
I loved that we got to see the team and their families as a group but we also got to see them as individual couples. I loved the way the women all bond together when they are apart from their men. This book was loaded with action, drama, angst, family and friends. I couldn’t read it fast enough, I think I wanted the guys home as much as their wives did.
What an awesome way to end a fantastic series!!
(Finally we found out how Benny got his nickname, loved it)
Spoiler alert!!!!!
Read the start of Penelope’s story again today… Just had to, and so glad I did. Reading it again I just realized she had so little going for her, and with what happened to her, to turn out like she did, she really did not have it easy. Fell in love with all the guys and their woman again and I am so glad I read Susan’s books. Susan you really do have a way with words and telling a story. Well done!!!
For those of you who are only starting with the different series, keep reading. It just keeps getting better and better. Can’t wait for the new series and for the new books of the other ongoing series.
U go!!! “Fight like a girl..” (less) [edit]
O my. Seems like the most emotional book in the series. The first chapters read as if the guys are saying goodbye to their wives as they all have a gut feeling that this mission is going to be a bit different. Very amazing story that leads you to another series such as the Delta Force Guys or the Badge of Honor series. As it is quite suspensful I read through this one within a day because I needed to know whether everything would be good in the end.
Excellent story. Great to revisit Wolf & Caroline, with the rest of th ed SEAL team and families. They seem like family I had to stop for awhile when all the men were saying they had a bad feeling about this mission. I really liked Penelope. She is a firecracker or tiger as her nickname indicated.
Protecting The Future was extraordinary. It has it all: classified mission, hostage rescue, highly charged situation, hard hitting action, birth, death, and joyous homecomings. We are intoduces to new characters from another series too. I admit I shed a few reading the poignant last chapter. I LOVED this series!
Dangerous SEAL mission
The SEAL team and their women that we have grown to love, are about to be separated for an indeterminate amount of time due to a new mission they have been ordered to undertake. Each team member is feeling conflicted about leaving their women and kids behind, but each know they need to find and get the female Army hostage away from ISIS and back to the US where she belongs.
However, as SEALs they know nothing goes according to plan and the only easy day was yesterday But thankfully Tex has their backs and calls in all the help he can get to help this SEAL team get out of dodge.
Loved seeing how far this team and their women have come and also the new additions
Oh my goodness, I loved this story the first time I read it, and the second and the third time as well. It’s still totally fabulous on the fourth read, Penelope is a wonderful character that does whatever it takes to stay alive while being held by ISIS. I’m holding my figurative breath waiting for her story, not literally because it’s a little over a year out and that would just leave me blacked out over and over. So many things to love in this story, catching up with the SEAL’s (including their women and CHILDREN), meeting a new SEAL team, meeting a Delta team, throw in the introduction of the guys (at least their names) from Station 7 in San Antonio. There are so many teasers for upcoming series and books, some of which are already out and available to read. I would have to say my favorite part was all of the women banding together to get through a deployment that from the start seemed to be rougher than others that the guys have gone on. Fantastic story-line and writing. Absolutely wonderful story Susan Stoker!
Blown Away!! I feel like that a lot when it comes to this series. Everytime I finished a book in this series I was blown away but this particular story is book hangover material! This story is the PERFECT ending to an awesome series. It has all the elements of the rest of the stories in this series but it brings everything full circle. It gives you a very satisfied feeling that life for the SEALs will continue to be exciting and filled with love in the future.
I really wish I could give this book more then 5 stars. This book encompassed everything one could and would want, it made me laugh, made me sad, made me cry and kept me on the edge of my seat as if I was watching a movie. And I honestly would watch it if it ever made into a movie.
Wolf and his fellow SEAL team members have saved many lives, and been in even more harrowing situations, and yes I borrowed this, yet now on their latest mission and one that could prove to me more difficult of all, their mission is to rescue an American Soldier Sergeant Penelope Turner from the ISIS.
The place she is, is terrible, the stench of death and despair is there, their lives are in danger, but it all depends on her.
Here we also see the love and pain they go upon telling their wives that they are going on a mission, not an easy thing for them, because for the 1st time they are worried about the outcome of their mission.
Will they rescue the Soldier held by ISIS, will they all return home to their Families, read the book, its well worth the read, characters are fantastic even as new ones are introduced to the mix.
I know I will read it again and again.
I loved this book. It is the PERFECT way…the ONLY way this series could have ended. Susan Stoker DID NOT disappoint with this book!! I was crying through this book and rooting the characters on. At one point, she had me so on the edge of my seat that I had to jump ahead and see how it turned out or I’d never get to sleep!! I am just awed at how well it all flowed together!! Now…where are my Delta’s woman?? Now I can’t wait to see how you get their stories out and with the Seals and Tex!!!! Wooohooooo!! It’s been a wild ride with the series but know our Seals are never truly gone for good!!
I loved this book! I loved finding out what happened to all of my favorite characters after the “happily ever after”. The suspense was really good.
My only complaint was having had the time jump, and not meeting each of the kids as they were born, sometimes it got a little confusing as to which kid went with which parent and it sort of brought me out of the story.
I would highly recommend this book!
The 8th and final book of the Protecting series and I’m amazed by the story even further. The writing was like you were there with them. I cried and laughed through the whole story as I read of Penelope’s trials, the men’s mission to rescue her, and the women’s trials on the home/family front! Penelope’s strength reminds me a lot of Caroline in how she handles herself and the situation she finds herself in. Mrs Stoker doesn’t disappoint in her ability to tell 8 different story’s views in 1 perfect tale. I loved how everyone had a voice in the story, it wasn’t about 1 couple, it was about the whole family! I’m sorry to see the series end, but I know that it won’t be the last we’ll see of everyone. And the ending, oh my, the last scene of the book had me literally with tears streaming down my face. I can’t say enough how much I really loved this book and it was worth the wait.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review, and I’ve pre-ordered it for my collection!
