Twelve years ago, I gave up the love of my life because my family made the relationship impossible. Now that Ali has come back to me, I’m not going to give her up again. It’s been years since I’ve seen her, and I know she’s hated me all this time. I never expected to see her working as an event planner for one of my father’s business partners. But here she is, always snooping around and getting … around and getting into trouble. I’m supposed to be providing security, but I can’t stop thinking about her.
She’s up to something, and it might put her in danger. She sees me as the enemy now. Maybe I am, but I’m not going to lose her again. I might be hired to protect the man she’s working against, but my heart only wants to protect her.
Protecting the Enemy was originally published as Honor Bound. It has since been expanded, revised, and re-edited.

I loved everything about this book. Seb had such a messed up family, this explains everything. We got a glimpse of it in the first book, but this one goes way more in depth. His father, ugh! You couldn’t help but feel bad for Seb and Ali both. They were both affected by the Maxwell Family.
OH! MY! FREAKING! GOSH!!! (Sorry, Catholic upbringing…lol) SPECTACULAR!!!!!! I am soooooo loving this series!!!!
As I have stated in the past, I LOVE a good military romance. Now, you add in a “second chance at love” romance into the mix. LOOOOOOVE it. The capper, it is by two of my favorite authors, Samantha Chase and Noelle Adams. PHENOMENAL!!!!
OK, why are some men sooooo stupid??? I get why Sebastian gave Ali up 12 years ago. Yes, he loved her, and he was being noble and giving her up because….. STOP, no spoilers, sorry ladies. But why could he not tell her!?!? Now, it will be twice as hard to win her back, and Sebastian is determined to do so.
But then, there are Ali’s plans regarding her father. Those may put a wrench in the works….
Oh, how I loved watching them building the trust back up, despite their fears. I loved watching them rekindle their love for each other. Each still a bit afraid to love the other.
Protecting the Enemy was also previously published under the old title of Honor Bound, and has been revised and expanded under new title.
I cannot wait for the rest of the series to be re-released at the end of August. I have loved EVERY word!
Thank you for reading my review.
The one that got away has become the woman he can’t live without. Sebastian and Ali have history. Complicated, heartbreaking, bitter history. Ali is determined not to repeat it. Seb is determined to make it right. Now he’s caught up in a web of secrets, that is spiraling out of control and at the center lies his greatest regret. Ali is a fighter. Disappointments and betrayals have made her the woman she is. Independent, fearless and untrusting. When a past she’d rather forget invades her present, her world will never be the same. Protecting the Enemy is a story of redemption that thrives on an abundance of twists along the way. Drama and danger collide when the past meets the present. A hint of danger packs a ton of heat.
The premise behind the Protector series is a group of friends that came out of the military together & are forming a security business. Sebastian is from a wealthy family that wants him in a suit running the family business. While that isn’t what he wants, he is not above using those connections to drum up some business for the security company. The first job is protecting a friend of his father’s at the gala the family business throws every year. Ali is the assistant to an event planner in charge of putting on the gala. However, Sebastian’s dad and friend also fired her father & screwed all the employees out of their pensions when they shut down one of the businesses they owned. Ali is snooping around trying to get evidence that the shut down was not on the up and up but Sebastian keeps catching her.
Ali & Sebastian don’t seem like the perfect couple but it works. The authors do a good job of showing chemistry between them and making the relationship believable. The scenes are well set & the plot twists and kept me interested. An enjoyable read.
