Sam “Mozart” Reed’s life changed the day his little sister was found abused and murdered when he was fifteen. He’s spent the past nineteen years looking for the serial killer who took his sister from him and ruined his family. Using his connections, and SEAL training, Mozart believes he’s finally tracked the killer to the town of Big Bear, California.
Summer Pack is working in a crappy motel up … crappy motel up at Big Bear Lake until she can find something better, more meaningful, more real. Living in an unhealthy situation, she meets a man who is everything she’s ever dreamed about and who helps her see that there are some people in the world who will actually do what they say they will.
But somewhere in Big Bear a killer is waiting to strike again. Watching for the perfect victim.

Intresting
Terrific book as are all of Susan Stoker’s Seal of Protection series (and her Badge of Honor and Delta Force Heroes series).
Weak story. Unbelievable characters. Too much spent summarizing earlier books in the series even though description said you don’t need to read in order.
Really enjoyed this book!
DNF Overuse of the H name, like multiple times in a paragragh, it got old so fast. Lots of telling and not much showing; I got to page 20 and gave up due to the juvenile level of writing. This writer needs to keep working at it before publishing.
Another Great
Summer’s husband said she was boring and divorced her after 10 years and then there were cutbacks and she lost her job. She made it to Big Bear and got a job in housekeeping in a run down motel. Mozart was looking for the man who raped and murdered his little sister when he was younger. He was traced to Big Bear. They met and she stood up for him not knowing he was a SEAL.
Great book it’s one that once you start reading you can’t put it down until it’s finished atleast it was for me can’t wait to read another book from the series
***4.25***
For those of you who are quite concerned about the safety of a book I will tell you it ended up being a safe book. The H and h had been apart for two months. He had promised her he would return for her but had not. He was trying to convince himself his feelings were all in his head…that he imagined them. He has been a huge man-whore, the worst of the SEAL team. It was never more than a night but we don’t have to listen to any of that except…there was a night he went to the bar which is where they go to pick up women for sex. He is thinking of having sex with another woman to get Summer off his mind. It doesn’t say how far they got but there was definitely intent. The hero, Mozart, has a bad scar on his face and while he was revved up and ready to procede with the woman she was staring at his scar. He lost his erection and told her to get out. He then knows what he needs to do…go to Summer and there was no more talk of other women except he was honest with Summer and told her how big of a man-whore he was and had been.
The rest of the book is quite good.
I love to read about these macho men discovering a true love and desire to protect that one special person. Overcoming a horrible experience in their life and making them into a better person. The same could be said for the heroine of this story as well.
This was a great book. Post divorce, Summer’s life hit rock bottom and she was reduced to cleaning cabins and living in a shed. Mozart is scarred by the murder of his sister and by facial injuries. She defends him and he is drawn to her. This is a beautiful love story in which you cheerlead for a happy ending.
Loved it
love the charters
The female was so disappointing. She had a Masters degree, I guess I just expected more from someone who worked that long to attain a goal!
Predictable
Love to read about heroes finding true love who have a life bond with their friends, especially guys and women in uniform.
I give this book four out of five stars.
I thought the characters were believable and interesting. I didn’t understand why the villain wasn’t recognized when he was first seen, but maybe our hero was just too distracted by the pretty face.
Loved the story and the characters, Susan Stoker is always engaging! Just be mindful there is some content involving physical and sexual abuse some readers may find distressing.
Susan Stoker never disappoints. I like stories with action and likable characters. Easy and pleasant read you won’t want to put down.
Love this series. Will read over and over
I absolutely love this series and author. This book, like the other books in the series, are hard to put down because it draws you in.
