Very good read.
Great Story!! Mozart and Summer’s story is moving and heartfelt! I loved how Mozart didn’t hesitate to come to Summer’s rescue even though she tried to fight him and stand on her own. It touched my heart the way Mozart just knew how Summer was going to feel and tried to find ways to persuade her to let him help without making her feel like a lowlife.
Mozart wanted revenge for his little sister and a lead took him to Big Bear. He was looking for the man who ruined his life and ended up finding the best thing to ever happen to him.
Summer lost everything she had and now she’s cleaning room for a living and sleeping with cleaning supplies in a freezing room.
Summer stands up to Mozart when three women made fun of his scarred face. Mozart took one look at her and decided that he wanted to know more about her. But he lived somewhere else and he needed to go back. Promising Summer that he’ll come back soon he leaves and disappears for two months.
Summer thinking that she’ll never see him again thought that he lied. One day he finally comes knocking.
The two of them never knew that the man Mozart was hunting has eyes on them and he’s ready to bounce.
This, like any other Stoker book, was amazing.
I liked the relationships between the teammates, the women, the couples. I simply liked everything about it.
Sam or Mozart as his SEAL team calls him, was hurting down the man that had rapped and killed his sister. Summer is a divorcee who was trying to rebuild her life after her divoce. She couldn’t find any kinda work in her field. So, Summer got a job as a maid in a little crappy motel up in Big Bear. Tech had tracked serial killer who had killed Sam’s sister to Big Bear. Mozart had the week off because one of his teammates ha dgotten married, so he spent the week in Big Bear. With no luck on find the guy that killed his sister, one night a group of women came to the motel. They were making fun of Mozart’s scare on his face that’s when Summer stepped in and put them in their place.
The story only gets better from there. Can’t wait to see what comes next
I love Summer & Mozart’s story. Beginning with Mozart going I’m hunt of a serial killer and learning the backstory of why he joined the teams and how he meets Summer, and how she has his back before they ever have a real conversation, to how they fall in love and she is rescued, Susan Stoker is a master storyteller. This is one of my favorites I’m the SEAL of Protection series. If you haven’t yet, you really should read this book.
Not the best of the series. But they still have great chemistry. And the luck of these women. Man.. rough. On to the next one.
This author’s books are always so easy to read, the story just flows and you forget where you are.
Even through the heart racing moments of this story I knew it would all work out for them. Mozart and Summer are a great couple, she is deserving of a second chance in life and for Mozart it’s time to stop being man-whore. Great sweet romance, action, suspense and love will keep you entertained, I loved it.
Felt like a re-read 2 years later, still just as good.
“Protecting Summer” is the fourth book in the SEAL of Protection series and it is the story of Sam “Mozart” Reed and Summer. Mozart has been looking for a serial killer for years, the killer who raped, tortured and murdered his sister, destroying his family in the process. Using his connections, he believes the man is in Big Bear Lake, so that is where Mozart needs to be too. At a run-down motel he starts his search and soon encounters Summer who works there. Mozart doesn’t know what to think of Summer, I mean they are strangers but that does not stop Summer from standing up for him when needed. Mozart feels the attraction between him and Summer but he doesn’t act on it and heads back home, promising to come back. Summer has a hard time with people saying they will do something and not doing it, she just cannot believe Mozart is that type of person. With a serial killer on the loose, he has no choice but to go back to Big Bear and the woman that has somehow crawled into his heart. That is when the action really starts.
Oh my, Mozart is just as Alpha as all the others. As soon as his path crosses Summer’s he only has eyes for her. Although he got his closure it was not the way he planned it. This series is just so easy to devour.
Such a sweet story. Summer fits Mozart perfectly. Though neither of them knows how the other one seems to want them. Summer reached the bottom of life, though she thankfully has a job, even if it’s a shitty one that pays nearly nothing. Mozart’s in a privat mission an literally stumbles across Summer. But when his past catches up with him and everything could be lost, he has to rely on his team to rescue the woman he loves. Wonderful story.
I really like these characters. I like how Ms. Stoker brings in difficult issues. Issues that are real life for some people. Summer once had a excellent job, a home and money enough to provide for herself & more. It didn’t take long before it was all gone. She was lucky enough to find a job and a roof over her head, not everyone is. It is a real issue and needs all the attention it can get.
There are serial killers. More than we want to acknowledge. But even if it happens only once that is once too many.
Another protective alpha, a pretty but down on her luck heroine and a bad guy who brings danger to the story. I liked Sam and Summer. This was a bit of a shorty so there wasn’t a whole lot that happened but when the bad guy did show up, there were some pretty uncomfortable scenes. I struggle a bit when the bad stuff happens detail by detail in a book. Thankfully it wasn’t as bad as it could have been, and didn’t last as long as it could have.
Sam “Mozart” Reed’s lifetime quest for vengeance is sidetracked by his need to take care of Summer Pack. Summer has learned through experience that people mean well but out of sight means out of mind. She can’t understand why this gorgeous man would care what happens to her. Findng true friends and true love was something she never imagined would happen to her. Living the same nightmare not once but twice in a lifetime is more than anyone can handle but loving Summer and protecting her becomes Mozart’s primary focus in life over all else.
Another Susan Stoker masterpiece! Loved it!
I am quite addicted to this combination of author and narrator. Definitely a win-win situation for me! Some parts were a tad bit graphic and could be triggers for some listeners. But I definitely can’t wait for more stories from this SEAL team.
-4 1/2 Stars-
I absolutely love Susan’s books! I’ve read most of them and I’m hoping she will start a new series!!!! You will love her books – the heros are amazing and the women they fall for are just as strong as they are in different ways. Read them in the right order since she introduces the women in each book and the way they become friends and stronger is wonderful to read! she is great! you won’t regret reading her books!
Another winner for Stocker! Great characters, great story line, and excruciatingly exciting ending!! A must read!!
I just love this author’s writing. The story is intense; the characters have depth; the subject matter is interesting; and, there is plenty of perfect romance. The harsh life of a SEAL is one thing but the life of the women they love, is something totally different. I love that the guys wait upstairs for the gals to party, laugh and talk together in the basement as problems are solved, stories are told and lives are discussed. It’s all good! Vengeance is the taskmaster when Summer is kidnapped, held hostage, beaten and awaits her own death. Enter the SEALS. Excellent book.
Mozart finds what he’s looking for
After Caroline and Wolf’s wedding, they were each given a week off to have some down time. Mozart heads out after Tex sends him a lead about the last known location of a serial killer. Mozart’s sister was kidnapped and killed almost two decades before and he is still searching for her killer. When Mozart reserves a room on the mountain, he never in his wildest dreams thought he’d meet the woman of his dreams. Summer is everything he wants in a woman…but unfortunately this has put her in the cross hairs of someone dangerous! Will Mozart be able to save Summer and have a future together?
Such a good story and each book I read, I fall more in love with these SEALs and their women
I did enjoy reading this story even with the insta – love, it was believable thanks to the well written characters. The intrique portion came out of left field, in a good way. I like to be be surprised and not know what’s going to happen. A standalone but I really want to know more about Mozart and Summer so will continue on with this captivating series and hope they’ll be mentioned in another book!
