Not enough story and way too much profanity
This book started me reading all her books, I highly recommend all her books
I enjoyed it very much. Liked the way all the characters were pulled into the story. Romantic, and sexy
Really enjoyed reading about survival of the fittest…….and how evil does exist….Good novel to breeze through without stopping, because you can’t….
Loved this book, the 4th in the series by this author. Loved the character who were broken and who found love.
Mozart is a Navy SEAL and has been looking for the man that kidnapped and killed his little sister nineteen years ago. He travels to Big Bear Lake in California and stays at some run down cabins.
Summer is divorced, lost her job and homeless. She gets a job
at the motel cleaning the cabins and sleeps in a little shed. When some drunk women show up and start discussing the scars on Mozart’s face, Summer acts like she’s his lover and puts them women in their place. He takes her out to eat but has to go back but promises he’ll be back.
When he returns, he finds her freezing in that shack and takes her to his room. But he can’t stay long but he gets the room for her for as long as she wants it. He stocks up on food, clothes, and a microwave and mini fridge for her. While gone, Summer is taken and when Mozart finds out, nothing will stop him from finding her.
Romantic, suspense, action packed, and so very good. What drove me crazy was how it switched from character to another without any space between them. Like a couple of lines between them to know when another person was starting their dialogue. Otherwise I read this within a couple of hours.
Oh my goodness. Sam (Mozart) is freaking intense (in the best way possible), and Summer isn’t sure how to take him (is he REALLY serious?). I loved these characters, I wept for Sam when he talks about his little sister Avery. The bad guy is truly a horrible human being. The SEAL’s ROCK hard though. A fantastic story-line with more than a little darkness at the 80-85% mark. Fabulous writing. Great story Susan Stoker!
Sam “Mozart” Reed’s life changed when he was a young man, his little sister had been found, she had been abused and murdered, and Mozart spent his entire life searching for her killer, that was one of the reasons he joined the Navy and became a Seal, and now retribution was so close, he had tracked the killer to Big Bear Lake CA.
Summer Pack is working in a very run down motel at Big Bear Lake until she hopes she can find something better or until she can save some money. While living in a very strange way she meets a man who is everything she ever wanted from a man and he helps her see that there are some people that actually keep their promises.
But there is a killer waiting to strike and he does go for Summer, will Mozart be able to save her and rescue her from the predicament she is in now.
Read the story to find out, its a fast pace and lovely story, characters are super fantastic too.
I think this is one of my favorites in this series!! I just LOVE Sam/Mozart!! He is such a wonderfully complex character. He is such an asset to this team, and his story with this woman is so fun and just…WOW! My favorite part is when she comes to his rescue! I thought it was so fun!!
This story moves at a good pace, and twists and turns as it goes. The ending is pretty good and was just shocked at how it ended. Susan Stoker just lives to surprise us (I think). LOL
I started the series yesterday morning with Protecting Caroline…and finished the series last night by 11p with the ending of Protecting Summer. Can we say emotional roller coaster ALL DAY?!? I loved this one as much as the previous 4! (Including Marrying Caroline) First, Mozart meets Summer by chance while he’s trying to locate the man who killed his sister when he was a teenager. He has to leave her pretty quickly due to a mission, but has already figured out that she’s something special and that scares him enough that he tries to stay away. Yet after a chat with a team mate, he realizes he’s got to go after her. After finally admitting their feelings for each other, a bonding with the other Seal’s women, an attempted murder, and a LOT of hard work on Mozarts part, he finally gets his woman. And NOW I have to wait 2 months for the next one!!! I’m loving the series!
