**Protecting Melody is the 7th book in the SEAL of Protection Series. It can be read as a stand-alone, but it’s recommended you read the books in order to get maximum enjoyment out of the series.

I’ll admit it…. Baby is what makes this a 5 star for me! Don’t get me wrong, I love Tex and have in every single book he’s been a part of, SEALs and Deltas. And Melody is fantastic! She’s not quite like the other women in Susan’s stories. And, of course, Tex and Mel together, well… sizzling! But, that hound, I swear. She tugged at my heart and pulled me in!
Tex has served his country and lost a leg in the process. So he helps his team mates and his country behind the compter where he’s good at. He’s lonely and wants a family for himself. He meets online a woman who captures his attention. She’s in trouble but he doesn’t know it yet. When she disappears online and he can’t contact her, he uses his skills to try and locate her and help if he can. A great story.
I love this entire series and the personal obstacles that people overcome and lovers don’t see as a problem.
I loved this book so much. The hero, Tex, is inspiring to say the least. This is a man who never gives up. The way this book was written was so incredibly special too. Timeless, and the characterization. Love it hard!
Awesome!! This is Tex’s happily ever after and it was AWESOME!! This story was my favorite kind of romantic suspense! It kept me guessing and on the edge of my seat throughout the book. There were also some funny spots that had me laughing out loud. Tex and Melody’s relationship was exciting, complicated and sexy and I fell in love with Baby! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!
I loved this book Tex and Melody were amazing characters!!!
Tex is the computer genius we meet in every book. For six months he’s been chatting to this interesting, funny woman online. One day she deletes her account without a word to Tex. Being the go-to guy when someone disappears, Tex decided he should go looking for Melody. There is no one he couldn’t find, and he needed to find Melody.
Melody was on the run from a stalker. She chatted with Tex to escape her reality, never thinking that she would have feelings for the guy. After texting Tex in a moment of weakness, she finds herself and her dog on the road back home.
Tex wants to help Mel. Going back to where it all started could help them figure out who the stalker is quickly so they get to move on.
After many threats and warning messages, the stalker makes an appearance.
I loved the relationship the two of them had. They both lifted each other up. Encouraging each other, making the other see just how much they mean to them. It was perfect.
Short & sweet review. I’ve been wanting to read Tex’s story, and this one was everything I wanted in a military romantic suspense. I loved it! He was the hero I knew he would be. Melody was the heroine he needed. And the dog saved the day. Even though I figured out the stalker early on, I was not disappointed in the climactic scene at all.
To be honest I was a little disappointed in the story. I had looked forward to Texas story. I guess I expected a tech savvy seal. But what we got was just an average story. I was disappointed in how he protected her. For how he protected the other women in previous books and the information he could gather on them, I just didn’t feel like he was in this book. Am I glad he got his happy ending yes. Do I like the ending not really.
I love all,of Susan stokers books. They’re all very good with lots fb great characters
I’ve really loved this series. I’ve read a lot of Ms Stoker’s books, not necessarily in order so I’ve gone back to reread and fill in the gaps. I was looking forward to Tex’s story and the author didn’t disappoint. Tex and Mel ‘met’ online, after 6 months he knew something was wrong and he was determined to track her down. A stalker and so much danger waiting to happen made for a very entertaining story. The anticipation built up through the story and in the meantime these two fell in love. The ending though, I’ve just lost my dog and I was in tears thinking evil thoughts of this author “don’t you do it!” I’m not going to tell you what happened.
Great story, now what’s next in this author’s world for me to read?
“Protecting Melody” is the seventh book in the SEAL of Protection series and it is one of my favorites. John Keegan also known as “Tex” might not be able to go on missions with his SEAL mates but he can still protect them from behind the scenes. An IED took away part of his leg and his career but he will still do anything possible, legal or not to protect his friends and their partners. Tex has played a very valuable part in all of the SEAL of Protection books but this time it might be that Tex needs help from his friends. Behind his lonely computer screen Tex has been talking online to a woman named Melody, who is secretive and mysterious but now it seems that she has just disappeared, without a word. Tex knows that he has to do something to find her so this time he uses his mad computer skills to help find the woman that he doesn’t want to lose, a woman who has become very important to him.
I am glad that Tex finally got his book and it was well worth the wait. I cannot help but say that I loved meeting Baby and I think that you will too!!

This was one story I never thought we’d see but so very glad we did. Tex was amazing when forced to overcome his injury and accept himself as he was. All it took was the love of the terrified but lovely Melody.
I normally don’t write reviews unless I really love a book or there’s something I feel should be put in reviews to warn other readers. Minor spoiler alert for animal lovers ahead:

Baby is a wonderful dog at the beginning of the book….Baby is a still a wonderful dog at the end of the book. At one point I was literally screaming at my kindle that Susan Stoker better not be pulling a stunt like some authors (I’m looking at you Sharon Sala and The Healer) where the dog makes the ultimate sacrifice. As a dog lover I need to know that in fantasy land dogs are always okay.
Such a nice story. It’s almost a little scary what you can do with just a little electronic device. And that’s what makes Tex a little unique. Great story – and you always get to re-meet the characters from previous books. Awesome.
It is so good that Tex has finally gotten his HEA. Melody is a kind, generous woman who loves deeply. She is honest and up front when asked how she is doing and doesn’t even try to be stoic. I loved how she reacted to her friend when a disparaging remark was made about Tex’s leg.
I did have a hard time listening to the climax. The negative bullying and just plain crap, it was just to much for me. Of course the stalker wouldn’t be polite but well, that’s on me.
With this story, all the main characters of the SEAL team are paired off and a handful married. I’m said to let them all pretty much go. There are a couple other stories so we’ll see.
Stella Bloom did an outstanding job here as narrator through the series, I could see a marked improvement over all.
John “Tex” Keegan has been instrumental in all the Team’s lives. Now he gets his own story and it’s fabulous! While he’s had purpose before now he has a goal….finding and protecting his internet friend Melody. Melody Grace is vulnerable, frightened and on the run. What she doesn’t know is that when she finally reaches out to Tex is that it’s the beginning of the end of her torment. Mel’s complete acceptance of Tex was so moving. She gave him back his dignity. He gave her a safe haven. They gave each other love.
Love this series
Protecting Melody is the 7th book in the Seal of Protection series. We’ve met Tex in each of the previous books. He’s had a hand in helping to find and save each of the girls from the SEAL team and now he’s on the search for Melody. He met Melody online 6 months ago, they have built a close relationship and are able to trust in each other. But suddenly Melody stops logging in, and then deletes her account and Tex knows that the time to get to know each other is over, if he wants to chance to ever get to know her in real life its time to take action.
These characters so great, and the series has a way of giving you just enough action/adventure without making it seem over-the-top and out of the realm of possibility.
