I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK!
I loved this book so much. I’ve had these books in my library for awhile and now I’m kicking myself for waiting so long to read them. I feel as if I know these characters already. I’ve read the Devil’s Soul’s MC books first as a matter of fact I’ve read Torch 3 times so I guess I’m reading them alittle backwards. But oh well. I am madly in love with Kane. He has got to be THE perfect man. He definitely knows how to treat a woman. Sydney is a beautiful woman who when she loves you she loves with her whole heart. She’s so kind and caring and warm hearted you can’t help but love her too. When Sydney gets attacked my heart starts beating out of my chest. I’m so scared for her but I have to say, she’s one tough little thing. For only being 5’2″ she sure gives her attacker one hell of a fight. Then she practically runs straight into Kane’s arms and as they say the rest is history. The love that starts growing between these two was so beautiful. He is such a gentleman and he always called her sweetheart or baby or some kind of endearment made him that much more sexy. When Arabella comes into their life I couldn’t stop smiling. Talk about a cuteness overload. Wow! When they first get her I cried my eyes out for this adorable little sweetie. But watching her grow to trust Kane and Sydney and begin to love them was so touching. When Sydney and Arabella attack Kane with the squirt gun and powder I was laughing so freakin hard I could hardly breathe. Roflmao! Braelyn and Jessica were great friends to Sydney. They were a always there for each other. When things started getting really scary I was constantly on edge waiting for something to happen. Then when it did I caught myself holding my breath. The suspense just about killed me. When things were good they were freakin great and when they were bad the were frightening. Then along comes Carter and I was crying again. He was such a sweet sweet boy and the misunderstanding with the pussycat made me almost pee my pants. Lol. I EXTREMELY recommend this book to everyone. I’ve come to absolutely love LeAnn’s books and this series so far is most definitely not letting me down. Oh and before I forget, the sex is abso-freakin-lutely amazing. Lol.
This is the first book I ever read from LeAnn Ashers. I love Sydney & Kane and all they go through for their HEA. The love they show to their little ones warms my heart.

Protecting His Forever was the first book in the Forever series by LeAnn Ashers.
Kane and Sydney met when Sydney was in trouble and called her brother, Ethan. Ethan and Kane served in the military together. Kane saved the day, literally. It was an insta-love story.
Protecting His Forever was written with a dual POV. From the relationship perspective it was sappy sweet mixed in with a suspenseful plot. I loved that the drama was never about the relationship. There was drama but it was all from external factors which kept us guessing. I liked the suspenseful plot and it kept me hooked, but it was confusing at times. I preferred a deeper dive into the details of the conflicts.
Otherwise, it was a quick and enjoyable read. Loving His Forever is up next with Ethan’s story but there are so many other intriguing stories to tell as well.
Sydney never really dated, she saw no need to because she figured when she met the one she would know. While out shopping though she finds herself being attacked and when her brothers best friend Kane rescues her, she knows she has met the one. Kane will do anything to keep Sydney safe from a threat that keeps coming, he is building a life he never had and he knows Sydney is everything he ever dreamed of having.
This was good but it did have a couple head scratching moments that made me wonder. I liked it though and if you are looking for a insta love, alpha male type book to just put your feet up with this is it. Kane is fantastic and matches Sydney perfectly.
I really felt like I forced myself to finish this one. The story had so much potential, but I felt like it plodded along, taking forever to get to the point. And, the editing left a LOT to be desired. There are plenty of wrong tenses, incorrect pronouns, and incorrect wording to really interfere with the flow of the story. And, toward the end, Sydney has apparently been missing an hour, but Kane has been searching for her all day. Consistency and coherence in a story go a long way toward making it a joy to read instead of a chore.
The story revolved around Kane and Sydney. It begins with Kane rescuing Sydney from an attacker. Theoretically, this is the plot of the story – who is after Sydney and why? However, it takes a real back seat, only garnering a mention here and there. What we get is a drawn out courtship, and lots of questions. We know that Sydney is being stalked, so why do the super protective alpha males in her life ever let her go shopping or to a nightclub alone?! If the people after Sydney are so determined, why do they take so long to go after her? And while I am asking about odd things – if Kane has a gate that requires a security code, how does everyone from the pizza delivery guy to their friends just show up and ring the doorbell? And if Ethan is a cop, why isn’t he investigating the stalking more, and why does he act like murder is no big deal? Isn’t he sworn to uphold the law, regardless of how he feels about the criminal?
I wanted to like this, but the constant interruptions in the story from missed editing opportunities to inconsistencies in the story line were just a little too much.
My first book by this author and I really enjoyed it. Sydney is attacked in the parking lot of the mall and Kane saves her. Kane pretty much sticks close by her after that, despite what her brother, his good friend says. Quite a bit happens in this book, we get to find out more about her and her brothers dad (which is kinda scary), her best friend that went missing a few years back and surprise family members of his. There was a lot going on in this book, it was pretty busy. I really liked the couples relationship, they pretty much are never separated after her attack and are in total sync with each other.
Safe read, no om or ow drama, outside of the stalker and attack, but that doesn’t count in my opinion, cray cray is null and void in my world. A lot of story drama and suspense. Insta-family, baby batter, epilogues and hea.
