Enjoyed the characters and fast pace to read.
I was really looking forward to reading this story. Faulkner “Dude” Cooper is an explosives specialist, he had a run down with a bomb that left him wounded and scarred on his left hand. He’s watched most of his teammates fall in love with amazing and strong women and wants the same for himself. However, he doesn’t feel like there’s a woman near the vicinity who’ll be able to look past his injuries. Here comes Cheyenne, who is at the wrong place at the wrong time: Grocery shopping turns into a hostage situation and life threatening moment. Dude is called to assist on the situation after word gets out that there are explosives involved.
Both Cheyenne and Dude are thrown into a situation where they have to work together to get out, and learn to rely on each other’s skills.
There’s the romance that we want to see in Susan’s books, the steamy and sweet moments, those characters that make you grind your teeth and those who make you fall in love with them. We’ve got to see the SEALs again, their women and how their relationships are evolving after their previous ordeals. Although there were times where Dude just was too bossy and Cheyenne was entering in a low self esteem spiral (and couldn’t get out by herself), all in all, it was a great read, and I can’t wait to read Benny’s story.
Loved the whole series.
Cheyenne & Faulkner “Dude” meet when she’s held at gunpoint & shows how brave & selfless she is. I loved out she just talks without any filter when the hospital gives her drugs for the pain after the incident.
Dude makes a few negative comments here about BDSM (about weakness showing here, for example), despite how he claims to likes dabbling in it himself, so the negative comments about it doesn’t seem logical.
Despite this, the story was nice to read. I liked Cheyenne & how she sometimes talks too much, this added some lighthearted humor into the book.
I couldn’t put this one down!
It was a very interesting read
Enjoy this author’s stories of military men finding their women.
All Ms Stoker’s books are great
I love all this authors’ books. This was no different. Great Navy Seal story.
Susan Stoker is exceptional! I love her plots and her characters. The books just flow.
It’s Susan Stoker — what more can I say??
Always fun to read this series.
I love Cheyenne and Dude. Dude is cool. He doesn’t take crazy from people. He loves Cheyenne and his daughter so deeply.
I think this is my favorite from the series
I love this series. I’m reading out of order and the individual stories are awesome. Feels like I’m visiting friends!
Loved dudes book (Faulkner). He is the tight lipped one. And to get a glimpse into the life he leads is hot. Cheyenne was awesome. She totally blossomed under the love and affection of Faulkner and his group and their significant others. Wow just wow. Her family is horrible and I’m so glad both she and dude put them in their place. Unbelievable. Loved the story. So good. Loved the steamy slight bdsm touches was super hot. Can’t wait to read next book.
I just wanna say to all of the people that answer 911 calls THANK YOU FOR ALL THAT YOU DO, YOU TRUELY DON”T KNOW HOW IMPORTANT YOU REALLY ARE!!!
Chey is a 911 operator, she doesn’t really know how important she is. Chey liked a men in uniform. Not just because she lived close to a military base, but that didn’t hurt either. One day in the grocery Chey seen Faulkner ” Dude Cooper. Chey had follow he around the store one day that they both go to for food. Dude even gotten something off the top shelf for her. Dude is a SEAL and is a bomb tech. One day on Chey’s day off she went to the grocery store to get her some food the next couple of weeks. There was only a few people in the store that day. When 5 guys came in to rob the pharmacy, but they had no luck with that. The manger and the cashiers were able to get out, but the 3 women that were in store wasn’t so lucky. The robbery’s had asked the ladies about who wanted to do a job for them. The women had to choice which one of them that got to do the job. That’s when they found out that the job was to carry a bomb. Two of the women were saying that they had family’s and they didn’t want to died. So, Chey said that she would do it. Wolf got the call that the police needed Dude to disarm the bomb. While the guys where leading Chey to the back to get the bomb and she started a fuss and that let the other 2 women to get a way. Once the snipers killed all 5 of the robbers, Dude and the police went into store to see if they could disarm the bomb. Dude was able to disarm the bomb and saved Chey’s life. Their story only gets better from there.
This is such a action packed story and it is such an AMAZING story. Can’t wait to see what happens next.
Really loved this book. It’s another great book in a fabulous series. The thing I love so much is how completely they fall in love and how the friends make them family right away.
If you love corny, over the top heroes then you’re in the right place… here with me loving every moment.
Cheyenne is a 911 operator, totally downtrodden and not believing she’s worth anything thanks to her horrid family.
A situation has ‘Dude’ to the rescue…more than once. I really enjoyed their connection. Dude is intense, she’s kinda skittish and yet still has a lot of spunk.
She’s in danger throughout this story without even knowing it. This tense filled read as we wait for danger to strike kept me glued to my kindle
Once again all the other characters make an appearance and it’s great to see how their lives are going.
Brilliant storyline and wonderful characters, another winner and I loved it.
“Protecting Cheyenne” is the fifth book in the SEAL of Protection series and it is an amazing read. It is the story of Faulkner “Dude” Cooper who is an explosive expert on the SEAL team, he has also been disfigured from a bomb but that doesn’t seem to slow him down at all. Cheyenne “Shy” Cotton is just a plain woman who works hard and cannot please her mother and sister no matter what she does. Poor Cheyenne had no idea that a simple trip to a local supermarket would find her in an explosive situation, but the local police call for Dude to help. Dude cannot believe how calm and selfless Cheyenne is and that raises his respect for her and his determination to get her out of this mess.
This will not be the only time that Dude has to come to Cheyenne’s rescue but by the next time she holds a piece of his heart and that makes things more complicated.
If you love romantic suspense with sexy, bossy, and confident men, you have to read this series. I have really enjoyed all of these books and have grown to love the characters as well.
