Matthew “Wolf” Steel hated flying commercial. Luckily his job as a Navy SEAL meant he didn’t have to do it very often. He’d been unlucky enough to be assigned a middle seat on the cramped jet, but fortunately for him, the woman next to him was willing to switch seats with him. Hoping for a relaxing flight, Wolf was pleasantly surprised at the good conversation and sense of humor the woman had as … as they flew 36,000 feet over the countryside.
When Caroline boarded the plane to Virginia to move across the country for her new job she never expected to be seated next to the hottest guy she’d ever seen. She also never expected he’d be so easy to talk to. She knew he’d never be interested in talking to her if he hadn’t been trapped in the seat next to her, but it was a nice way to spend a long plane ride.
Neither Wolf nor Caroline were prepared for a terrorist hijacking of their plane, but if Caroline thought that would be the last time she’d see, or need, Wolf, she’d be sorely mistaken.
Protecting Caroline is a stand-alone love story. It’s Book 1 in the SEAL of Protection Series.

**This is a re-read for me, and was the first Susan Stoker book I read**
I love Caroline, her character is so relatable for so many woman these days. She may come off as shy, but when push comes to shove, she is willing to take the punch to save more lives.
I really enjoyed the plot and how easy it flowed, it wasn’t overly complicated or filled …
This was a great book. I loved the story line for the Seals, and felt so bad for Mozart, I’m glad Matthew (Wolf) saved Ice. It was a bad scene but turned out good in the end. would love to read Abe’s book.
4 stars
Caroline is a chemist and is moving from California to Virginia. She feels she’s plain and ordinary, people just look through her. On the plane she is seated beside a huge, sexy man. Matthew/ Wolf is leader of his SEAL team and he and three buddies are heading to Virginia to visit a friend. The stewardess brings them drinks and Caroline …
This book was a fun ride. It’s part of a series, that while very predictable, is worth the time. Like good bad t.v. What would kick this up a notch is if the writer spent more time making the male characters less one dimensional.
I’m new to reading about Military books.. I have enjoyed this book… Matthew and Caroline ( Wolf & Ice ) are like the prefect couple.. They complament each other so well … It was so amazing how Ice and Wolf were able to talk to each other so easly and how they worked together when the poeple tried to take over the plain… How she handle the …
Many times the people who look the most plain, can be the most interesting and intriguing people you could ever encounter. Caroline is one of those people who seam insignificant at first glance but once you get to know her she gets under your skin and you never want her to get out because she makes you want to be everything for her, be your best …
This book made me want to get the next book in the series. It was a pager turner and I just could not put it down. I kept wanting to know more about all the characters, it pulled at your heart string. Thanks for writing such a wonderful book.
Caroline is a nerdy chemist. She is traveling to the east coast for a new job. She is plain and invisible to most people. She is sitting next to Navy SEAL Matthew, “Wolf”. Wolf and his teammates Abe and Mozart were on that flight to visit their friend Tex. Caroline helps stop a terrorist group by smelling something off with the ice.
This …
Why did I wait so long to start this series. I love the way we met the entire team right from the start. The way they rallied around, no questions asked was inspiring. The strength Caroline had was remarkable and Wolf just WOW. Time for the next book.
I read this book a couple of years ago and decided to take another gander. I loved it then and still love it now! I have followed and I am engrossed in the story (world) that Susan Stoker has built. If you like military romance, action packed and of course romance, this is the book for you! But don’t stop at Protecting Caroline, you need to read …

This was not what I was expecting from the synopsis. I’ve read this author before and liked the books. I don’t know what happened with this one. I can’t recommend it.
An excellent story with lots of excitement, tension and danger. Caroline is a smart strong woman who does what it takes to humbly protect those around her. Matthew is a strong usually decisive SEAL who finds himself liking this wonderful woman. Hearing their story has been a pleasure.
I’ve read many of Susan Stoker books, but this one I read over and over again.
I find myself a bit surprised with how much I liked that the heroine was described as being an unassuming woman. She is not described as ugly, just as average and easily overlooked. Some of the scenes where she was ignored over the overly pretty women is something I have actually seen happen.
What I liked most was the way the author focused on …
Okay, I’ve found a great new author to follow! I’m pretty sure everyone but me has read her books! Navy SEAL, Matthew aka “Wolf” meets the “ordinary” Caroline on a flight to Virginia. They have an immediate connection, but terrorists & missions get in the way. This book ran the gamut for me, I laughed, I cried, I worried for their safety & was …
Always some intrigue in these stories. Caroline is a wallflower who ends up helping a SEAL team on an unexpected mission. She is so strong and brave!
Protecting Caroline was my second foray into Susan Stoker’s world of military romance.
Here, Caroline, a chemist, gets to meet Mathew “Wolf” Steel when she boarded a plane on her way to Virginia. Seat mates during the flight, both of them were unprepared when the plane they were on was hijacked by a terrorist, an it would take both their help, …
Protecting Caroline was an extremely exciting story with danger and definitely some love. Susan Stoker take you on one emotional journey with some incredible characters that will capture your heart and hold on to it till the end. Caroline is on her way to her new home and job in Virginia when she is seated on the plane the passenger beside her …
Caroline and Wolf’s story is full of action and suspense with just a touch of sweet romance. The SEAL team are great at protecting those they love and Caroline very quickly becomes a part of the team. There are lots of emotions in this story and I look forward to more of the team finding mates for them to protect.
