There’s been a shifter murder, and I’ve been assigned as the key witness’s bodyguard.
But that witness just so happens to be my ex-fiancée.
Sabrina is my mate—or at least she was until I took off, leaving her with nothing but her wedding dress and a broken heart.
Her future as a surgeon was bright.
But being in the Army really messed with my head, and I knew I’d only get in her way.
I … the Army really messed with my head, and I knew I’d only get in her way.
I would’ve rather seen her hate me than be responsible for crushing her dreams.
But the tiger within me knows that when I left her, I made the biggest mistake of my life.
Now I’m being deployed on a mission to protect the prime witness of a shifter murder trial.
But all the training in the world couldn’t prepare me for this.
Just my luck, that witness is Sabrina.
It takes every ounce of willpower to keep my tiger’s demands in check, and he knows fate has brought us back together for a reason.
But after everything I’ve put her through, will Sabrina give me a second chance?
Either way, she’s in danger.
And the big cat inside me won’t rest until she’s safe.
Steamy shifter scenes inside! Readers 18+.

Part of the Shifter Nation: Special Ops Shifters: Dallas Force series a well written story that kept me turning pages. This is Special Ops Shifter Force’s Max and Dallas’s top cosmetic surgeon Sabrina’s story. There is suspense, drama, danger, and a second chance, I enjoyed reading. Three and a half stars. I have not read any of the previous books in the series and it wasn’t necessary to enjoy this book. This is a good shifter story. This is one of those stories the author keeps you wanting to know how they work out their differences even if you know it has an HEA. I thought Max was more relatable than Sabrina but she was still likeable as a character. They both have their share of emotional problems including why their original relationship ended the way it did. They are finally mature enough to work it out.
The end of the book has a tease for the next installment which sounded pretty good.

**Spoilers**
Sabrina was an eye witness for a murder in the shifter community and was now receiving a special forces bodyguard. She hated having someone follow her around while at work and standing guard while she was at home. Now even more so since Max her ex-fiancé was now her bodyguard. They built walls long ago and they were still there. As time went Sabrina had a conference at a different location for an extended wing to help more of the lower classes and when they parked the chopper in the park, Max sensed someone else there and pushed Sabrina out the way and shifted into his tiger while a wolf was descending on them. The fight was short but Max killed him and then they were again to the conference. At the trail Sabrina was called and from there everything erupted into chaos and she was fighting for her life against a bear. Max finally got to her and saved her and killing the bear. From then on they bared there souls and a life together was sent into place.

Loved every bit. It started off a little slow, but soon picked up. I’m a fan of a good shifter story, so I recommend this one. Max is assigned to protect a witness to a murder, but little did he know who the witness was. Sabrina and Max have a history. Grab your copy and dive in.

This is a good story in the Special Ops Shifters: Dallas Force series, it is well-written, I did find it to be more on the slower side but did pick up towards the ending. Max and Sabrina have a complicated past of being young and in love but not communicating, now Max is thrust back into her life to protect her until she can give testimony in a shifter murder trial. As they navigate their way back together, realizing that their love is still as strong as always. The storyline is interesting and the characters are likable.
Paperback. Max has a certain skill set that made him perfect for his job u TIL one mission went awry and he has to live with his own guilt of the men who died. Now out of the army and doing what he loves best, flying choppers, he is living his life between ferrying the rich around for sight seeing tours and the special shifter ops in Dallas. Until his past comes back to haunt him. Sabrina is now a plastic surgeon and is in the top flight but wants to do what she can do for shifters. Until she witness a murder or rather an Alpha bear dead at the bottom of the stairs. Now it’s a race against time to keep her safe until the trial but will she be safe from Max. Another great book in this series with some great characters. I love the shifter ops as it’s so different from other books I have read.
Sabrina is a witness to a shifter murder. While waiting to testify her life is threatened. Max and his team are sent in to protect but she and Mac have a past that has yet to be settled. This adventurous story is about protecting a witness and coming to terms with their past. The characters are well done and it end with a HEA.

Max and Sabrina met again in unusual circumstances. He is to be her bodyguard because she walked into a murder scene and saw a wolf standing over the body. Only thing, Max is her ex-fiancé who walked away from her. How will this work out. He is now a helicopter pilot and she is a cosmetic surgeon. Life goes on. The storyline is very good and the characters are so good. This is a very good read and must be read to know the ending. I recommend this book.

The claws come out
What happens when Max is hired as a bodyguard to protect a witness? Well if that witness happens to be his ex who he left with no word, you can be assured the claws will come out. Since both Max and Sabrina are shifters, those claws are literal.

Max Jennings was engaged to Sabrina Barrett, both tiger shifters. He walked out on her without a word and left her devastated.
Sabrina Barrett, now a top plastic surgeon and attending a medical convention, walks into a situation where a wolf shifter is standing over the dead body of an Alpha bear. She is supposed to testify at the murder trial, but with the many death threats now coming at her, the shifter conclave hires the Dallas Force to provide her a bodyguard for protection until the trial finishes.
Max is assigned to Sabrina’s protection team and both felt the pain of running into each other again. Yet their original attraction was still strong. Would it be Sabrina’s turn to walk away this time? Or would they both try again to find their HEA?
I enjoy this author’s books very much, and this one was no exception. The story line was good, well-paced, and the characters flawed enough to make the reader care about things working out for them. Grab your copy and enjoy a well-written love story.
This book is absolutely fantastic and I loved it! The story of Max and Sabrina is full of love, second chances and a bit of mystery. Max and Sabrina had been engaged once but her medical career took too much time and one night, after an argument, Max leaves without saying goodbye. Years later, he is now charged with helping guard and protect her and a local shifter conclave has asked for help as she is a witness to the murder of a bear Alpha. At first, things are tense between Max and Sabrina. The two are constantly at each other and it’s a bit stressful for her. Max is determined to look further into the case. One night, she needs to go to a meeting at another building. Having no place to land on the building itself, he lands his helicopter in a park. When they return after the meeting, Max hears something and before they know it, a wolf is coming at them. He pushes Sabrina aside and is forced to kill the wolf. Sabrina is angry he didn’t let her defend herself. Shortly after, as he is taking her home, they make a pit stop in a remote area and he gets her to let her inner tiger out for a run. The evening ends with the two of them in each other’s arms again. He admits that he still loves her and she confesses the same. Soon it’s time for the trial and after giving her testimony, the real culprit comes out and attacks her. She defends herself but Max steps in when her attacker gets the better of her. This cements the bond between them. Soon she’s finally getting the reconstructive surgery wing and shifter hospital open and they are putting their lives back together and moving forward to their happily ever after.

I read all the previous books in this series and I have to say that this is my least favorite one. Max left Sabrina a while back and never looked back. They are trust together and all those unresolved feelings came rushing back. I could not find any chemistry between the characters but the story line was pretty promising.
