Hero’s
Each book in this book set brought Hero’s to the front, but each did it for different reasons, but never stood up and said look at me. Each showed strength & determination.
Rescuing Rayne – Delta Force Heroes – Book 1
Susan Stoker
I love military heroes, and this one has them in full force. A brand new series with the crossover beginning in the last Seals of Protection book Protecting the Future. I absolutely loved the beginning of this book, the cancelled flight and then the tour of London. I swear I felt like I was touring with them.
The circumstances of their next meeting holds some very intense moments. I found myself holding my breath, and crying. I did get frustrated with Ghost’s alpha male attitude at times, but then men can really be dumb asses sometimes.
I couldn’t put this book down, it kept me on my toes with every page turn. I did quite a bit of crying, both happy and sad. Better get some tissues.
Black Dawn -Titan Book 8
Cristin Harber
This book may contain triggers for anyone who has dealt with abuse specifically alcoholism, mental and physical.
That said, I loved the realism of this book. The very real trauma both mental and physical, and the way Lexi finally deals with it.
Parker is a dream come true, he’s always felt something for Lexi and when he stumbles on what is really going on with her, well he’s more than angry.
Unfortunately, Lexi doesn’t get away until a bit later.
What these two don’t know about each other only adds to the suspense and drama. The attraction intense and I give Parker a lot of credit for holding back and giving them time.
A page-turning read that had me up half the night to finish. I just had to know if everything worked out. I have also added the rest of this series to my wishlist.
Issued to the Bride One Navy SEAL – Brides of Chance Creek Book 1
Cora Seton
I have to admit when I read this title I was a little more than intrigued. After reading the blurb I was hooked. I’ve heard of manipulating fathers, but the General really takes the prize. Although he has his reasons for doing it and the timing is just about perfect.
Now the General’s five daughters are not happy with him and this latest ‘stunt’ by him has them all fuming.
His initial meeting with Cass is not a very auspicious beginning, but right in line with what he was expecting. Now he has figure out some way to win her over.
Of course there has to be more than just fixing up the house, there are men involved with the other girls and they are trouble. Unfortunately they don’t realize it and things get interesting really fast.
Fun, flirty, sexy and plenty of drama to keep you turning the pages. I have read the others in this series and I am waiting patiently for the next one coming in July.
HOT Rebel – Hostile Operations Team Book 6
Lynn Raye Harris
Again it seem I am starting series far away from the beginning, and loving it.
When Victoria shoots someone other than Nick’s target, she sets off a series of events. Not all of which make her look good.
Then the powers that be decide it’s a good idea if they all work together.
Suspense is rampant as they try to figure out who they can trust. Working together isn’t easy and the attraction is intense.
A page turning read that has plenty of action, suspense and sizzle.
Wyatt’s Stand – Colebrook Siblings Trilogy Book 2
Kaylea Cross
This book has so many things I love in it and of course it’s not the first book in this series.
First we have the rescued dog, Grits. He was kind of thrown at Wyatt by his friend Piper who decided he needed to have a dog. Not to replace Raider the Military Working Dog he lost, but to keep him company.
Then there’s Austen, she and her late husband had renovated old houses to flip. Now with her husband gone, Austin needed a change so she went big. She left Pennsylvania and found a property she loves in Sugar Hollow. A Victorian desperately in need of work, she purchased it outright.
Wyatt had been waiting for the Miller place to go on the market and he is devastated and angry when he finds it’s been sold.
Renovating was hard work and Austen couldn’t do everything. As she searched for contractors she got more and more frustrated. Finally she did what she needed to do and called Wyatt.
I loved the dynamic between these two and the heat that developed the more they worked together. However, there was a threat looming from messages Wyatt was getting.
I fell in love with Grits and did a bit of sniffling as I read about Raider his MWD. There is plenty of suspense and a twist I didn’t see coming as well.
I will definitely be getting the rest of this series.
Sweetest Surrender – The Serafina: Sin City Series Book 3
Katie Reus
Sigh, yet another middle of the series, but I do appreciate it’s a stand alone. I don’t have to go back to follow the story but I probably will, since I am now hooked on these characters.
Angel is a waitress at a Casino in Los Vegas. Liking that ‘What happens in Vegas, Stays in Vegas’ is conducive to hiding. Something she’s been doing for the last two years.
After sort of being busted for stealing food, she is confronted by Vadim one of the Casino’s computer specialists, Vadim. Now Vadim didn’t just call her, he broke into her apartment while she was in it. He convinces her she hadn’t lost her job, and he came to ask a favor. Housesit and take care of his dog Charlie while he’s away on business.
After a soul searing kiss interrupted by Charlie, Vadim turns cold, leaving her bewildered. While he is gone the reason she is hiding rears it’s ugly head.
A lot of hot and cold, but I loved the way she stood up to Vadim’s alpha high handedness. Although at times I thought she was quite naïve as to how things work in the world. When things got hotter, I was sure these two would melt my kindle.
I will definitely be getting the rest of this series, as I am very curious about all the others I met in this one.
A Hero’s Honor: Resolution Ranch – Flint Hills Military Heroes Book 1
Tessa Layne
Woot, a first in series to hook me! Prairie, Kansas is rebuilding from a EF4 tornado. So much destruction and yet the town has come together to start the arduous process.
Dottie’s Diner now a pile of rubble has morphed into a food truck across from it’s original location. A place for folks to gather and share news it’s where we meet the main characters in this tale.
Chief Travis has a thing for Elaine, Dottie’s waitress. Of course he’ll never admit it, he has relationship rules, rules that his friend and deputy chief Weston thinks need to be broken. Weston also thinks Travis should run for sheriff which he eventually agrees to do.
Of course the way Travis announces he’s running to his opponent Lawson, he pisses off Elaine in the process.
Even as Travis battles his feelings the sparks fly between him and Elaine. Her son Dex wins his heart as well as they work closely on the campaign.
Elaine does have a secret she’s keeping from him though and it’s one that could ruin his chances of winning.
Lots of fun, plenty of drama and a finish that has me wanting more of all these characters.
Several stories with a military theme. All have an HEA. There wasn’t bad story in the bundle. Several of the stories were from series.
