With his competing days behind him, Wyatt Marshall has settled into ranching life in Marietta, Montana. But with the Copper Mountain Rodeo, his only exception, just around the corner, the last thing he needs is a distraction – especially one in the form of a pretty, yet vaguely familiar country singer. For Claire Miller, it’s been almost a year since she fled Las Vegas with only her purse and the … purse and the clothes on her back, and she’s been laying low in Montana with a new image. When she and her country band travel to perform in the small town of Marietta, she doesn’t plan on getting stranded there for several days. Or for an innocent offer to stay at a nearby ranch to turn out to be more than she bargained for: she recognizes its owner to be the same sexy cowboy she got hot and heavy with – then stood up – in Vegas.
With the passion flaring between them and Wyatt getting closer to putting the pieces together, Claire is ready to run again, not knowing the danger that sent her fleeing in the first place is close on her heels.

great read
A nice story about a girl on the run who meets someone who forces her to stay put. Sexual situations, minimal foul language. Good characters. Happily-ever-after.
A good cowboy romance
A fun quick read.
This book was agreat read
This was an easy reding book – a little predictable but enjoyed the characters.
Good escapist romance.
This is a great Marietta Montana story. I think I have read others in the series. I really enjoyed this one. Very happy for the couple. I loved the Cow named Karma. I loved the play on words that black haired was Sin and Light blonde was Claire (Clear?) Several times made me really smile and others really laugh… and definitely cheering them on.
Protect Me, Cowboy is a contemporary romance with a western twist by Shelli Stevens. Ms. Stevens has provided readers with a well-written book populated with a phenomenal cast of characters. Sinclair is on the run from her old boss, doing any work she can and singing for extra pay. Wyatt has retired from the national rodeo circuit and is concentrating on his family ranch. Wyatt and Sin/Clair’s story is loaded with drama, humor, sizzle, action and suspense. I enjoyed every page of this book and look forward to reading more from Shelli Stevens in the future. Protect Me, Cowboy is book 1 of the Marshall Ranch Series and book 2 of The 78th Cooper Mountain Rodeo Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
Wish there was more of it.
Story line was cute. However, with the amount of typos, grammatical errors, time line mistakes & other errors, I found it to be very distracting.
it was interesting though a little bit predictable
I really liked this book and will try to read more books by this author.
Loved this book…. great read!!!
Loved It
Great writing. When you run into the girl who disappeared on your big win in Vegas show up in Marietta. There is s story behind it. Second changes at first times.
Interesting plot with a bit of action and a lot of passion mixed in. Likeable characters, small town rodeo festivities, a wanna-be mobster and beautifully descriptive writing make this a page turner.
Protect Me, Cowboy, the 2nd book in the 78th Copper Mountain Rodeo series was an okay read for me. It had a good plot and a likable main couple but something was missing for me. And I can’t put my finger on what that something is. I liked Wyatt. Thought he was sexy and sweet, but he didn’t really stand out to me. The same with Claire. I thought she was sweet with a little bit of sass but again not something that really stuck out for me. The story kept a nice pace and had some action. I felt the ending was rushed and the bad guy was taken care of way too easily. Also I was really disappointed that there was no epilogue. I was really looking forward to that peek into their HEA and I didn’t get it. Overall an enjoyable, quick read.
Yes, it’s predictable, but a quick, charming read.
Great Story!
Slow start but good.
