Everyone has their place.Or they should. Twenty-year-old Aviana isn’t so lucky. Born to a clan that lost their way long before her time, she is the product of a pairing that should be celebrated. Instead, she hid in the shadows for her own protection and watched her family’s reputation crumble. However, there is one being of great power and importance to her clan who has always believed in her, … always believed in her, telling her she is destined for greatness. And now that she is to undergo her coming-of-age test—a test so grueling most never finish it on their first try—Aviana must prove herself worthy.
But as the clock ticks, and lives hang in the balance, will she live up to her family name and the expectations placed on her?
Readers who enjoy a strong heroine, who takes risks and defies all odds, will love this story.

PROPHECY TESTED is a prequel to the ORACLE’S PATH series. While it is set BEFORE prequel story PROPHECY CHOSEN it can be read as a stand alone in any order.

Note: Like all of Shannon Pemrick’s work, the Oracle’s Path series contains strong language, violence, substance use, love scenes(including LGBTQ pairings), and difficult situations.

To watch your family name dissolve and hide because of it, she still has people that believe in her. This is the story before the story. On her 20th birthday she has a crazy dangerous test to do. Not many people are able to pass. This is my first book from this author, I will like to read more.

Our heroine is an outcast, but sometimes you have to do the right thing in spite of the situation.
I am a little confused as to where this fits in with the author’s other stories because I have not read most of them. So I treated this as a standalone and it worked just fine in that regard. It did successfully whet my appetite for more.
The story is well written and sports a rather detailed setting for such a short story. The characters are also well developed, particularly our heroine whom I really enjoyed. The story was fun and easy to read, making for a pleasant evening’s entertainment. And as I said, now I want to explore more of the author’s world.
Highly recommended.

I loved Aviana’s story in Prophecy Tested (Aecis Chronicles: Oracle’s Path, A Short). It’s Shannon Pemrick at her best and that’s a pretty darn wonderful thing. Destined Fate vs the ability to make one’s own fate. Violence and live, action and adventure, another perfect prequel to the author’s fantastic Oracle’s Path series and yet a perfect stand-alone novel in itself that’s a truly fun read and easy to highly recommend.

As a prequel this story is top notch. I just never expected to read a series in reverse order. Not bad storytelling though.

I don’t normally read short stories but this one caught my eye and I’m glad I did. I loved this story, the Owlcats are endearing, I didn’t realise their size until she rode on one. A must read for any lover of fantasy books

Great story. Draws you in to Aviana’s world. Short novella about Aviana. A potential oracle who is shunned by many in her clan. But a god has spoken to her an told her she is special. Now she must pass a test upon her twentieth birthday. I loved this story. Can’t wait to find out what will happen with her. Prophecy Tested: An Oracle’s Path Short by Shannon Pemrick is well written and has great character development for such a short book. Shannon Pemrick’s prose draws you into the story and keeps you turning pages until the end. This is a tale about a young girl responsible for a huge undertaking. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am anxious for more in this series. Received an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review.
