A dragon’s trust. A clan divided. A god’s command.Half-elf Oracle Aviana must complete an impossible task—unify her broken clan. Fractured during conflicts centuries before her time, they’ve lost their ways, causing Aviana’s existence, once seen as sacred, to be a living hell. At twenty years of age, and now an adult according to their customs, all she wants now is for them to see her as worth … them to see her as worth more than what’s in her blood—and the dragon god, Akorith, has just the plan.
Connected since birth to the mighty entity, his whispers have followed her dreams, speaking of an era long forgotten—one he needs her to revive, or a great darkness will consume them all. To do so, she’ll have to complete a task her mother started before her disappearance: gain the trust of two dragons who now see her as the enemy.
The only problem? She’s not permitted to leave the clan’s territory. If she dares to make any movement outside of town, she’s instantly monitored. And such a task, even from a god, would be seen as treasonous. To make her task even harder, her mixed-blood nature begins altering her physical appearance, ensuring she’ll gain more enemies than allies if she doesn’t learn to conceal or control it.
And when she finally meets these two dragons, whom her mother had come to care for greatly, Aviana must make the most difficult choice of her life…

PROPHECY CHOSEN is a prequel to the ORACLE’S PATH series. While it is set AFTER prequel story PROPHECY TESTED it can be read as a stand alone in any order.

Note: Like all of Shannon Pemrick’s work, the Oracle’s Path series contains strong language, violence, substance use, love scenes(including LGBTQ pairings), and difficult situations.
Prophecy Chosen was previously available in the Rogue Skies anthology set.

Recipe for success: take 2 feisty dragons, 1 strong half-elf Oracle heroine (important!: use an odds-defying type), 1 dragon god, and 1 divided clan; mix in dissension and a mission that must be (impossibly, of course) accomplished to prevent an all-consuming great darkness. Season with talented writing, a superb plot and fantastic cast of characters. Stir thoroughly. The result will surely be Shannon Pemrick’s Prophecy Chosen. This “Oracle’s Path” novella is frankly superb. I simply adore Aviana (the afire-mentioned half-elf Oracle) and loved her story. Easy to highly recommend.
As a half-breed, our heroine is an outcast viewed with suspicion. When she is given a quest by a god, she won’t be able to please everyone. So what is the right thing to do?
This is a novella side story in this fantasy series. The story is well written and easy to read with a well developed setting that has a lot of depth to it. I have previously read book one of the series, so this one fit in nicely for me. Folks that have not read the first book will take a little longer to catch on to the setting, but it comes quickly. The characters are also well developed and very nicely rounded out with unique personalities that add spice to the story. I particularly like our heroine who struggles to find the right path in spite of all the obstacles. Overall, it was a very enjoyable read and a nice filler for the series.
Highly recommended.

Oracle Aviana has a difficult task ahead of her . She has a clan to unite and find her place in the world. But things aren’t as they are . She can’t leave the clan’s territory she is monitored where ever she goes . Then she meets two dragons who her mother has grown fond of . Will Aviana make the choose that will help her or will the choice be the most difficult of her life .
Aviana is a very strong character , she has had a hard time of it but she comes out fighting and kicking , She is half elf and half dragon. She is trying to fit in but she is meant for more . She is destined to be more . The characters are well written and complex. You will love them all as you meet them in the book . The owl cats are my favourite they are so cute . You will love them .
This is a quick novella that will take you on an adventure . The author introduces us to these characters to us and we get invested in them from the beginning . You will care for them and want Aviana to succeed . You will want to jump into the first book after you finish this prequel which I suggest so you can understand what is going on. I did get a little confused in a couple of areas where I had to reread so I could figure out what was going on . Over all I did enjoy this book and I am going to get the first book in the series to see how things go and read further into their story . So if you want a good dragon book with cool characters and a good story line this is the book for you
This book picks up a day or two after the end of Prophecy Tested and continues to follow Aviana’s story. Learn a bit more of the reason Aviana is an outcast among her people and what happened to her mother. Follow Aviana as she learns more about what her mother was doing in the time leading up to her disappearance and picks up the work started by her mother.

I enjoyed this story, though I feel like I definitely need to read more of the series to really get it. Aviana, the half-breed, is a great character you want to root for and it was interesting watching her story unfold and watching her persevere, despite all the odds against her. The writing was solid, the pace was good, and the story was entertaining with high enough stakes to keep me invested. I’m looking forward to reading the first book in the series, so I can learn more about Aviana’s world.

Aviana is a gentle soul but is persecuted for being a half-breed. But she has powers. Aviana has been tasked with meeting Siverath (the dragon king her father defeated), and his son Xalanath together. She is afraid to meet with them, but travels into the human city. Surprisingly Siverath is friendly and Xalanath is suspicious of her. She meets many humans and a few non humans and makes friends. Can she complete the task her mother was unable to do years ago?
