Roman “Quick” Webb is one badass bounty hunter on the crime-filled streets of Atlanta. He’s fearless when it comes to carrying out his dangerous job alongside his longtime best friend and business partner, Duke. However, there is one thing that has begun to cause Quick concern and it’s the dreadful thought of living out the rest of his life alone. Seeing his best friend and his son fall in love … love and sharing the special connection that only true soulmates can, has made him all the more aware of what’s lacking in his life.
Love.
Dr. Cayson Chauncey has been wildly attracted to the big, tattooed hunter for almost a year, ever since he performed the surgery that saved Quick’s best friend’s life. Cayson must’ve mistaken Quick’s gratitude for something more, because the one time he tried to make his desires known, he was harshly rebuffed and left on the man’s doorstep feeling stupid for hitting on an obviously very straight man.
Cayson never dated a man who was willing to come out of hiding and be with him. Now at almost forty, Cayson is intent on no longer being anyone’s dirty secret. Having experienced countless disappointments, and having taken a stand not to fall for any more tricks, Cayson is more than a little skeptical when Quick comes around asking for a second chance to prove himself. The gorgeous man had already made it clear he was definitely uninterested in Cayson… or so he’d thought.
Dr. Chauncey stirred up Quick’s suppressed, most carnal desires from a place deep down inside of him. He’d reacted so badly the first time that now his sexy surgeon wanted nothing to do with him. It was going to take a fair amount of patience and a whole lot of wooing involved as Quick sets out to convince Cayson that he’s worth another chance and that he is the brave lover who Cayson has been looking for.
With a scorned ex and a very dangerous job thrown into the mix, Cayson’s happiness and all of Quick’s promises may not be as easy to keep as they’d hoped.
PARTS ONE AND TWO IN THIS SERIES CAN BOTH BE READ AS STANDALONES. THERE ARE NO CLIFFHANGERS IN EITHER BOOKS.

AN ITCH FINALLY GETS SCRATCHED
Roman “Quick” Webb meets Dr. Cayson Chauncey when his friend Duke has to have a kidney transplant. He falls for the doctor but fights it and his inability to carry on a conversation in the doctor’s presence. The two go through a lot as Cayson is upset with the way Quick treated him when he went to check up on Duke at Quick’s house. Add in a crazy ex and the sparks fly to get these two to together. I like the way Quick came to Cayson’s rescue while admitting that he was bi-sexual. Forgiveness goes a long way.
**********Contains Spoilers**********
I really enjoyed this book, it was way better than the first as it didn’t seem as rushed, as Quick & Cayson actually seemed to get to know each other, even if it was still a short timeframe it just seemed more realistic than the fast pace of Duke and Vaughan’s relationship. Cayson struggles to believe that Quick is actually interested in him, and isn’t just messing with him, as Quick basically kicked Cayson out of his house, all because Cayson was flirting with Quick, Quick seemed like a complete homophobic a*sehole but really he just couldn’t handle how Cayson was making him feel, especially in front of Quick’s son Vaughan. Cayson has also had real sh*tty luck with f*ck buddies in the past, I wouldn’t call them relationships as he was never offered anything other than s*x. Cayson’s on & off friends with benefit Dr Joe (extreme closet case that will most likely never come out) can’t handle Cayson’s rejection, when he gets together with Quick, or he just doesn’t like being told no constantly and it turns violent. Man when Quick loses control of his anger he’s a complete beast. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the books in this series. I’d definitely recommend this book, series & author to everyone.

I loved Quick & Cayson!!
Cayson stole my heart during the hints to him in Promises Part 1 and his story was even better! I felt for him and his pain and loneliness. While his connection with Quick, starts off a bit rocky they find their way together and boy is it awesome!!
I loved Quick’s gruff and badass exterior while he nursed a damaged heart, ego and past. He snaps at Cayson but then does all he can to woo him back. Their chemistry sets the pages on fire and I loved the dedication Quick gives Cayson once he gets over himself.
Add in a classic suspenseful thrill with some danger thrown in and you have an awesome, hot and gripping read! I’m loving this series and can’t wait for more!!

Audiobook review:
Story – 4
Narration – 4
Good story and good narration.
Promises Part 1 did not end in a cliffhanger but it left me really wanting to know more about Roman “Quick” Webb and his attraction to Dr. Cayson Chauncey. Promises Part 2 didn’t end on a cliffhanger either. I’m not sure why the author titled the books in this series the way she did but I’ve listened to the first three and none of them end in cliffhangers like the titles might lead you to believe.
At the end of book one I knew that I really, really wanted Quick and Cayson to get together and I’m glad they did in this story. There are quite a few misunderstandings that have to be cleared up before they do. Cayson has a nasty ex-boyfriend who’s in the closet and that comes into play in a big way near the end of this book.
Like book 1, there’s lots and lots of really hot sexy time. Once again, I found Aiden Snow’s voice to be very pleasing to listen to and I look forward to his narration of the next book in this series. Unlike book 1, book 2 didn’t give me any clues as to who book 3 is about but I listened to it and my review will be coming soon.
A copy of this audiobook was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.

All I can say is WOW!!!!
I really loved Cayson and Quick’s story. One man who has so much love to give and
another who needed that love. A lot of obstacles, but love is worth fighting for.
