It takes more than a happy ending to make a really enjoyable book as far as I’m concerned. When a writer is able to deliver an uplifting story with solid characters they are about half-way to a satisfying read. But I like a book that makes me think and learn something about myself as well as about the outcome of the story.
Seeing things from Noelle’s point of view delivered several ah-ha moments that I really enjoyed.
Sappy tearjerker. Absolutely fabulous. Bits of Christian belief sprinkled throughout. Happily, a pastor once said, during his sermon, that only the hypocrites should stay and listen. Noelle is a strong believer who needed to grow more in her faith. Fortunately, her family and friends are willing to accept her whether or not she does. Bad things happen at Christmas just like they happen all year round. Miracles happen all year round as well even at Christmas. A Christmas love story is still a love story. And this one is worth reading. I think that you will enjoy it.
This is my honest review.
clean
Noelle has a guilt complex that has her tied in knots, and keeps her from trusting for good in her life. But when she takes in a golden retriever, things start to look up. It takes a wise father to make her see that she’s worthy of love and God’s grace for her to open her eyes to the obvious.
Great story for dog-loving romantics.
I loved this book! Christmas is the best time of year and dogs are such good companions! They can help you through anything.
it had scripture in it, was pretty true to how Christians think and showed how we’re not perfect. it was real
I love stories that include dogs! This is a fun read for the holidays:)
It was so refreshing to read a romance story that is not afraid to make God an important part of a relationship. I really like that Noelle wanted to keep her faith as a priority in her life and that she was willing to stay single if that is what God wanted. However if she was in a relationship she wanted God to be part of the relationship as well.
I laughed through many of the comments and antics in the book but yet I appreciated the characters and their desire to please God even when it was hard.
Sex – none
Language – none
Violence – none
Religion – lots of talk about God, most definitely a Christian story as indicated in the description
I almost stopped reading, because I thought it was going to be too cutesy and pat. But I was glad I did. This was my first book by this author. I don’t usually read books that are strictly romantic, but this was a nice read.
Nice storyline and easy to read.
I had to force myself to maintain my reading of this book. Too much with plays on Christmas names and the dating setups.
A sweet love story.
I truly enjoyed this uplifting book.
Wonderful story. Loved it.
This book is so much more than just another Christmas romance. It is about personal growth, trust in the Lord, becoming a better person and giving your life and concerns to God. It has a great dog, a heroine named Noelle Holiday and the two Christian brothers – obviously written with tongue in cheek! Be sure you check out the awesome song written by Tamie Dearen. The link is at the end of the story.
This is an endearing book, keeps you busy.
Loved the book, an enjoyable easy read.
Self sacrifice can go overboard, nice to see things work out as they did.
I thought it was a great read! I only wish that it was a little faster paced. But, overall it was a great story.
