In PROMISE OF A NEW BEGINNING…
After having her heart broken by a country music star, Savannah Braden has sworn off men. She takes a break from her fast-paced Manhattan lifestyle for a weekend at a survivor camp to rebuild her confidence and readjust her priorities. But when she meets the handsome guide, Jack Remington, she’s drawn to everything about him—from his powerful physique to his brooding stare—despite the big chip on his shoulder. Powerless to ignore the heated glances and mounting attraction, Savannah begins to reassess her hasty decision.
After losing his wife in a tragic accident, Jack Remington found solace in the Colorado Mountains. This solitary existence allows him to wallow in his guilt and punish himself for having made a decision that he believes cost his wife her life. He never expected to want to return to the life he once knew–but then again, he never expected to meet gorgeous, stubborn, and competitive Savannah Braden.
One passionate kiss is all it takes to crack the walls the two have built to protect themselves, and allow love to slip in. While Jack fights his way through his guilt, and struggles to get back into the lives of those he left behind, Savannah is there to help him heal, and together they nurture hope that they’ve finally found their forever loves.

One passionate kiss is all it takes to crack the walls that Suzanna Braden and Jack Remington have built to protect themselves. Will they allow love to slip in? Oh the walls we build thinking they protect when in reality they keep people out. You got to read this book Jack and Suzanna are fun to get to know.
Savannah has to escapes the hustle and an ex boyfriend in NYC. She goes on a weekend retreat to the mountains. Jack is hiding away giving survival courses. Savannah is sweet and Jack is angry since the death of his wife a free years back. The chemistry is so strong. I love Addison Cole’s sweet books.
This story has a HEA, no cliffhanger.
*I reviewed this book voluntarily, having made no commitment to provide a review and receiving no compensation of any kind for this review.
Jack and Savannah are absolutely amazing. Jack is the wounded, gruff mountain man. Savannah the sweet and lonely city girl. When they get together there is nothing but sparks and nothing is going to put out their fire. This book quickly became one of my favorites of Addison Cole’s. I love all the Braden’s but Jack and Savannah are one of the best stories!
The instant sizzle between Jack and Savannah is amazing and neither is looking for a relationship! Jack is seen as a very angry man, he’s not a bad guy, it’s just how he’s dealt with his grief. He’s also shut everyone out until he meets Savannah and wants to return to his old self. They meet when Savannah goes off on a retreat to figure out why she seems to keep picking the wrong guy. With her help, he learns he can and deserves to love again and starts to reach out to heal old wounds and reconnect with all the people he’s turned his back on. Wonderful story and a perfect match for Savannah! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I love the Braden’s and this series. How many of us wish we could have a new beginning? This is a great story about overcoming guilt and sorrow. I don’t even want to know how I would react in Jack’s situation. I enjoyed reading this and seeing how he works through his feelings. Savannah and he are perfect with and for each other. Love the interaction of both their families. I always thought I would like to have a big family. They crack me up at times. If you haven’t check out this series, I hope you will. I received an ARC of this book, but my opinion is my own. I can’t wait till the next one comes out!
As always with Addison Cole, this book is a absolutely sweet read! Savannah, who has been cheated on for the last time and swears off men, has met Jack. Jack is dealing with his guilt and haunting past. They are both caught off guard by their feelings, but the author weaves a story of life and reconciliation into one beautiful story!
I love Addison Cole’s books and how she stresses the bond of family. Promise of a New Beginning continues the story of the Western Braden. Savannah Braden a high power lawyer who goes on a survival weekend and meets Jack the owner/guide x-military of the survival company. Jack a widower who has been withdrawing from family and friends due to being guilt ridden from his wife death from a car accident is attracted to Savannah. Savannah went on the survival weekend after she found her boyfriend with another woman. She is attracted to Jack but he is gruff with her and but protective. I loved Savannah in the other Western Braden’s series books and really enjoyed reading about her in Promise of a New Beginning. Addison Cole wrote a beautiful story of strong family bonds and wonderful romantic story. I received a free copy of this book for an honest review of it.
I really enjoyed the way this book started and especially loved meeting Jack Remington and Savannah Braden. These are two head strong individuals but they are also both dealing with sadness and anger from the past especially for Jack. I always appreciate a strong hero and heroine and these two definitely fit the bill. I also like to see our friends again and this time we got to spend time with not only Savannah’s family but Jack’s family as well. Jack had a lot to overcome and I appreciated how Savannah dealt with helping him through what he was working on and he also rekindled some relationships from the past which truly made me happy. ‘Fate’ was definitely in play in this book as well, if it hadn’t been for fate they might not have met and these two definitely needed to meet. In the end, I’m glad that Jack finally got the closure he needed and two amazing people found each other. There was a line from this book that I thought was perfect, “You have ten minutes to be angry, ten minutes to be sad, ten minutes to be anything other than thankful that you have an eleventh minute to look forward to.” Great book!
When someone that you love is ripped from your life in an instant, you feel that you cant go on. You don’t want to go on. The feelings of guilt and self blame are real and debilitating. This Sweet with Heat novel is such a story. It will pull on your heartstrings, make you grab a tissue or ten, and keep you so enthralled that you will read it in one sitting.
Former Special Forces Officer and Survival Guide Jack Remington lost his wife two years ago. He hasn’t looked at, much less thought of another woman since. That is until a strong, tough NYC lawyer Savannah Braden finds her way to one of his survival camps while trying to work on her own relationship issues.
A master storyteller, Addison Cole weaves a very true to life tale of Jack fighting his way back to life and love. You will get to visit with old friends from past books in this series, and you will get to see the dynamics of growing up with five brothers and one sister. Both Jack and Savannah come from families like this, as well as Ms. Cole herself. You will get to see and feel the love and support that close families have and the controversy of hurt feelings and misunderstandings as well. This is truly not to be missed book, and i cant wait to read the next one in the series.
Promise of a New Beginning is another great emotional novel from Addison Cole. Ms. Cole certainly knows how to push all my buttons. One minute she has me laughing and the next I am in tears, but I never stop reading one of her books until I have reached the end. Both Samantha and Jack have to overcome their past hurts and losses. Will they be able to help each other heal? I love how their families supported them, especially Jack’s when he had so little contact with them. Do not miss this powerful book about the healing power of love.
“I just got lost for a little while.” Yes, you did, Jack. Lost for two years in utter sorrow and guilt. So mired in despair that you couldn’t sleep in the home you had shared with your wife. In stumbles Savannah, a high-powered lawyer who dominated in court, but crumbled when confronting her repeatedly unfaithful boyfriend. But what she lacked in guts with her ex, she lets fly with Jack. Both have misconceptions they have to amend. And we all know the heat generated in a contentious relationship.
I became interested in this couple from the beginning. Their frequent banter made me wonder what the end result would be. Both had a stubborn self-protective instinct, but both cared deeply about the other, even when it was painful. They both needed a course in relationship survival.
I was greatly heartened by the way both Jack’s family and his in-laws continued to love and support him when he couldn’t love himself. I love Savannah for giving Jack the space to be what he needed to be, and then be able to open her heart when he was ready for her. And I applauded her handling of her ex (finally).
I voluntarily read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book and the views expressed are my honest opinions.
This is such a beautiful story, both Jack & Savannah have loved & lost before, in different ways. There was so much emotion both characters went through. Savannah was dealing with a broken heart after a horrible break up & Jack was still mourning the loss of his wife. Jack enjoyed living alone, working as a guide to lead people on trips in the wilderness. Savannah went on the trip to boost her self confidence up. During that trip they both grew closer than expected. This was such a great read!
My oh my! Author Addison Cole has crafted a wonderful and emotional story that will have you laughing one moment and grabbing tissues the next.
Savannah Braden and Jack Remmington have both experienced loss and heartache. When Savannah signs up for a weekend retreat to focus on herself, the last thing she expects is to feel compassion towards the bitter and harsh tour guide. Will this weekend retreat be able to do more for Savannah and Jack then they could accomplish alone in years?
If you enjoy stories with characters who have so much depth to them they feel real, a compelling story that will capture your attention and a love story that will blow you out of the water, you will love Promise of a New Beginning.
How long is too long when you’re grieving? When you’re racked with guilt & pain? Jack Remington’s live fell apart when his wife went to the store on a rainy night & didn’t come back. Jack was first at the scene & the guilt of not running this errand for his wife ate him alive. He’s isolated himself from everyone he loves, & that loves him, for two years now.
Savannah Braden is tired of being cheated on. She can’t believe she keeps taking her boyfriend back. Not this time. This time it’s over. She schedules herself a four day survival course out in the mountains. It’s going to show her that she’s tough enough to kick him out. Then she sees the pilot/instructor of the course. Their chemistry is intense from the beginning but the guilt & anger just roll off him.
I loved the way the little things affected Jack during this story. His interactions with young Aiden brought his tenderness & concern to the surface. Savannah has him longing for love again. His conversations with Lou & Pratt had him opening up for the first time in years & willing to move on. Savannah realizes that this isn’t something she can fix for him. He has to come to terms with it himself. She did regain her confidence during the time together. This was another fantastic story!
Jack and Savannah have both loved and loss. A heartache is a heartache whether it be brought on by tragedy or the progression of life. Can two people beaten down by their emotions learn how to trust in their hearts again? Promise of a New Beginning is two steps away from a second chance. As two strangers forge a new path to love, each has to let go of the win that seems to hold them back. Cole ponders the power to move forward when life wants to hold you back. Profound. Passionate. Unpredictable. Compelling.
I think I found my favorite couple so far. I’m not sure what was it about Jack and Savannah that had me captivated but they held my interest for beginning to end. I couldn’t help but to fall in love with Jack. He lost a huge part of his life and it was really hard to read how much he was struggling to cope with everything. Even though it all happens in a space if a week the story didn’t seem fast paced. It has all the FEELS one would want in a book about second chances at love and life.
I can’t wait to see what happens next because I have a feeling Hugh has something special in-store for us.

Jack Remington is a wounded soul. After the death of his first wife, he retreated into himself and cut himself off from family and friends. He starts to find his way back to himself when he meets Savannah Braden. Savannah is a strong independent woman who has stayed in a bad relationship for too long. The two have a connection right away. The story was great seeing the two learn more about themselves as their connection grew stronger. I received an advance copy of the book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Another outstanding book by Addison Cole. This one has all the feels. The relationship between the rough and rugged Jack Remington and the sweet but sassy Savannah Braden has all the makings for a great book. Jack has suffered horribly after losing his wife. For the last 2 years he’s been basically hiding out in the mountains, giving survival guided trips to strangers, but ignoring his own family. Then Savannah shows up and by the end of the trip, Savannah has reminded him of the importance of family and shown him all the things he’s been missing out on by not living.
I loved catching up with the amazing Braden and Remington families. This story will have you flipping page after page. You won’t want to stop until the end, and then you’ll be disappointed that it’s over!
Promise of a New Beginning is just amazing. I have loved all the Sweet with Heat: Weston Bradens books but this one is probably my favorite right now. Savannah is amazing. I love how she isn’t afraid to go out on her own and find herself again. She is so sweet and caring. And once she meets Jack you can just feel the chemistry rise. I love how she doesn’t push him and is patient with him over everything. Jack is just trying to survive the guilt he holds inside. You just want to hold him tight as he starts to live his life again. Savannah and Jack are perfect together. They just get each other. Promise of a New Beginning is a beautiful healing story that I couldn’t put down. I love this book and series so much. You don’t want to miss out.
Addison Cole has a way of getting to the deepest emotions of loss and of love. You will cry and you will laugh, and you’ll cry some more, this book is that touching.
Savannah Braden needs a break from life after breaking things off with her jerk of a cheating ex so she escapes to the mountains to a survival training camp so she won’t be tempted to go back to the jerk…again. Maybe she will develop the strength and knowledge that she deserves better. Savannah just doesn’t expect their leader to be such an insensitive clod. It’s obvious everyone there is hoping for a little emotional restoration, yet it seems their fearless leader is in need of some healing of his own.
Jack Remington walked away from his old life and his family two years ago after losing his wife to a tragic accident he fully blames himself for. Surviving in the mountains is what he knows and now teaches to others. With his newest group he wasn’t expecting a tall, fiery and scrappy woman to reach deep into his soul and pull him out of his anger and guilt. But Jack doesn’t feel he deserves friendship or companionship much less love after what he did.
Jack has a real battle ahead of him if he ever wants to join normal society again much less let love back into his heart, but it seems Savannah’s unconditional love may just be what he needs to mend the fences with his family and move past his devistating loss. I highly recommend this entire series.
I was a little surprised at the level of ‘heat’ in this book. The first half was a little more graphic than I expected.
I received an ARC and voluntarily offer this review.
