When Grace Quincy (“Q”) lands a job as the lead scientist and engineer in the CIA’s Clandestine Operations and Properties group, she becomes the Quartermaster for U.S. reconnaissance–the creator of spy gadgets for Jayce Jackson, special agent with a license to kill. As charming as the famed British double-O, Jackson is one-hundred percent all-American, from his dusty cowboy boots to his unending … unending Southern charm. His conquests in and out of the bedroom are the stuff of legends, yet Q daydreams of being something more to Jackson. At the highly sought-after event, Nebulas and Novas, Q gets tangled in Jackson’s latest mission and the mysterious disappearance of NASA’s green glass Moon stone. Q must trust her wits to survive the dangerous operation, thwart Dr. Faust’s sinister plan, and save the sexy spy she loves.

This book is a little bit 007 but with a romcom flare.
I would think as an author writing a romcom could be rather tough. What you find humorous your readers may not find humorous. What you find quirky and different may not resonate well with your readers. But when you find that sweet spot, you create a fun, lighthearted, and amusing story.
That’s exactly what this author did with this book. But what I love the most is that it is completely unique. She has crafted characters that you don’t see in typical romcoms or even contemporary romance.
You have a group of four nerds, one which is female, and three geeky guys otherwise known as the Killer-B’s. And the female heroine, otherwise known as Q, is not only brilliant but beautiful as well. Smart, loves her job, and her mother truly believes she’s gay.
But that could be further from the truth since she has a huge crush on our hero, 007. When Q finds herself embroiled in a bit of his spy case, she’s glad he’s there to pick up the pieces as they work together to bring down the criminal.
The story is loaded with humorous sexual innuendo, outrageous flirting, and delightful scenes that made this book a real pleasure to read. Fresh and witty and a great reading experience!
Grace, otherwise known as Q, is a brilliant scientist working for the CIA’s secret Operations and Properties group. Her job: creator of spy gadgets for America’s special agent, Jayce Jackson. Working so close with Jackson makes Q crazy because she’d like nothing better than to snuggle up night and day with Jackson. But she doesn’t want to be another conquest to him, so she keeps silent.
Q stays behind the scenes, letting Jackson do what he’s good at but when Jackson gets distracted on a mission, they team up to bring down the evil Dr. Faust. Suddenly, Q is out of her depth and has to trust her instinct to not only save the world from a sinister organization, but Jackson himself. Can she rescue him from the clutches of Dr. Faust while capturing Jackson’s heart or will she just be the flirty Constellation Girl?
I’m a huge fan of Bond and spy rom coms so the premise appealed to me right away. Q and Jackson are fantastic characters with depth. Jackson is more than just a sexy spy who tumbles into bed with any pretty face. Sure, he’s funny and his comedic timing with sexual innuendos was spot-on. It’s the way he cares for Q and reveals parts of himself only to her that melted my heart.
Q, on the other hand, is sweet, a little dorky and full-on Einstein smart. It’s so refreshing to have a heroine that’s wicked smart and capture the heart of the sexiest man in the room. A great message there.
If you love spy romantic comedies with sexy dialogue with plenty of action, pick this up today. I can’t wait to read the next in the series!
Disclaimer: I received an ARC from The Wild Rose Press via Netgalley in the hopes I’d review it.
Favorite Character/Quote: Q (Gracie). She’s clumsy, beautiful and smart. She has hidden talents which Jackson brings out in her. She grows as a woman in this story and I want her creating fun gadgets for me.
My Rating: 5+ stars

Q is a Bond-type girl who, with her quick wit and saucy sense of humor, designs gadgets to keep her sexy spy, Jayce, safe. Tongue-in-cheek, the two of them fill the pages with playful banter and double entendres, all the while taking down the bad guy.
Sit back, relax and prepare to be entertained.
Funny, Flirty, and Action Packed!!
If you love the action of a Bond movie combined with the humor of a romantic comedy, you will love Promise Me the Moon! I fell in love with Q (Gracie) and her handsome spy Jackson, but the secondary characters are amazing as well. You’ll cringe at Gracie’s family’s good intentioned meddling in her love life that always seems to just barely cross the line, or in the case of her mother, blow right past it!
One of my favorite series is the Tara Holloway series by Diane Kelly and Promise Me the Moon strikes the same tone. You’ll turn page after page waiting to see how Gracie will get herself out of danger, swoon as the tension between Jackson and Gracie ratchets up, and laugh at the witty humor sprinkled throughout.
I can’t wait to read the next one!
