Emotional and heartbreaking rollercoaster. It had all emotions imaginable, joy, love, death and friendship.
And mostly love. It was fabulous read.Love the style of writing where each chapter starts from counting “ days when..” Quite unusual.
Very well written with well developed characters, I was rooting for them.
The story you will remember for long time.

An epic long 2 part novel. 4.5 Stars. What a thorough approach to human relationships, conflicts, loss, guilt. The book’s characters have been very well developed and described, the scenes and dialogues have been portrayed with great detail and care. There were many tension points, turmoil, action, intense drama and witty, but also teary resolutions. I loved Brennan’s relationship with Liz’s little girl Savannah. This novel is an all-rounder. Good editing enhanced the experience. It is a substantial work that I would gladly recommend, along with some tissues for the weepy moments.

This is the first book I’ve read in this series and even though I haven’t read any of the previous books I wasn’t lost. But after reading this one, I want to read the previous books leading up to this finale. Each book in the series is a stand alone book so you won’t be lost reading them out of order. However, each of the previous books build upon each book prior to it.
A great story line and wonderful characters. You emotions will be taken on a wild ride so have your tissues ready. A book you won’t want to put down once you open the cover and read the first words. This story pulls you in and holds you til the end.

Promise Me Forever by Katherine L. Evans is a poignant conclusion to the Return to New Orleans Series of books. Each of the previous six books (all stand alone stories) build upon each other with the lives of all the characters intertwined in each. Promise Me Forever wraps up this series that spans many years and the relationships and friendships of this tight knit group of people who have been through everything together.
In this book Ms. Evans, will surprise you in ways you might not expect after reading the previous books in the series. You will experience an entire gauntlet of emotions throughout these beautifully written pages. You cannot help but get caught up in the lives of all the characters and feel like you are experiencing everything that happens to them. It is intense, sorrowful, heartbreaking, but also beautiful, joyful and captures true friendship and love. Keep tissues close. The previous six books lead up to Promise Me Forever but this can be read stand alone. It is richer with having read the previous books. If you haven’t, you will definitely go back! I received an advanced reader copy of this book, but this review is my own.
I have not read the previous books in this series but having enjoyed these two I am definitely looking forward too. OMG the emotions and chemistry is strong from the start.. The characters are well developed and are engaging and the flow of the storyline just completes the best read had with this author.
