A high school reunion is about to get down and dirty and a whole lot more complicated in this new erotic romance from NYT Bestselling Author Katee Robert.Jake Davis had it all in high school—a scholarship to his college of choice, a promising football career, and the gorgeous prom queen for a girlfriend. And then he lost it all when he was injured right after graduation. Ten years later, he’s … graduation. Ten years later, he’s mostly made his peace with that, and now runs a company that provides women with dates for special events. Imagine his surprise when he discovers that the ex who left him in the dust needs a fake boyfriend for their high school reunion…
Jessica Jackson used to be the mean girl to end all mean girls. But life didn’t turn out like she’d thought it would, and now she’s twenty-eight, single, and works as an insurance agent to A-listers instead of being the A-lister like she’d always dreamed. She can’t go back to her home town and admit just how thoroughly she’s failed, so she lets her friends set her up with a fake date for the reunion.
The second Jessica realizes that her fake date is Jake, she tries to call the whole thing off. The problem is the chemistry between them is even hotter now than it was when they were teenagers. Against her better judgment she lets herself get drawn into Jake’s arms again—and into his bed. But time doesn’t heal all wounds—sometimes, it actually makes them worse—and if Jessica and Jake can’t learn to forgive each other, their second chance might not last the weekend.

Back in the day Jessica Jackson wasn’t the best person, she was going places and those around her were not going to hold her back. She burnt a lot of bridges back then, made a lot of enemies, and looking back at it all now she is not proud of her actions. With her impending reunion she knows the right thing to do is return home and make her appearance, being the Prom Queen and all, but she is certain that no one will be happy to see her there. Her life didn’t turn out as planned, and she hasn’t really accomplished all the things she set out to do, she doesn’t even have a date that she can bring home to show off, so her friends suggest she hire one. So, she reluctantly takes their advice, thinking a date can take some of the heat off her, but when her date shows up at the airport to pick her up she gets the surprise of her life… it’s her ex-boyfriend… the one she left behind!
Ten years ago Jake Davis watched the love of his life walk away and never look back, all the promises she made going along with her, as well as the future they planned. She wanted to make a name for herself on the big screen, and so sticking around town wasn’t going to help her do that so she just walked away. He has since then moved on, going into business for himself, a business that helps women out with dates for special occasions, and when an application from his latest client lands on his desk he gets the surprise of his life… it’s his ex-girlfriend in need of a date for their reunion. No way is he passing this one off to his employees, he’s going to handle this one himself.
I really enjoyed this book, the story line captured my attention right away, and held on tight the whole way through. Jake stole my heart, I am a sucker for alpha male characters who are protective and willing to do what it takes to win the girl…and he totally won this girl! It was a great second chance romance story that warmed my heart and gave me the feels, I highly recommend this one!!
Everyone remembers that girl in high school …the one who thought she was better than all. The cheerleader, prom queen, homecoming queen,…mean girl. Fast forward ten years to the reunion is she still that way? Or has she had a change of heart? Maybe you wondered why she acted like that.
Jessica and Jake..,,the golden couple star football player and homecoming queen…dated throughout high school…expected to marry but they didn’t. Come find out why and if their second chance is actually that. I really enjoyed this look back into high school life. Memories it stirred up that were long buried.
I highly suggest reading them in the order Carrie Ann Ryan gave us Dropout, Honor, Trouble, Rock Star and ending with Prom Queen.
Then of course start over again.
