June and Day arrive in Vegas just as the unthinkable happens: the Elector Primo dies, and his son Anden takes his place. With the Republic edging closer to chaos, the two join a group of Patriot rebels eager to help Day rescue his brother and offer passage to the Colonies. They have only one request — June and Day must assassinate the new Elector.
It’s their chance to change the nation, to give … nation, to give voice to a people silenced for too long.
But as June realizes this Elector is nothing like his father, she’s haunted by the choice ahead. What if Anden is a new beginning? What if revolution must be more than loss and vengeance, anger and blood — what if the Patriots are wrong?
In this highly-anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller Legend, Lu delivers a breathtaking thriller with high stakes and cinematic action.

This is action packed and keeps readers at the edge of their seats! I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
I really enjoyed this 2nd book in the Legend series. We get a bit more action than in the first book, and we get to see more about the Patriots and the Colonies. I enjoyed seeing both June and Day’s perspective and opinions on how their lives are changing. I will warn readers that there is somewhat of a cliffhanger at this one so you will want to …
Wow what a change from book one and I did not really care for it.
I think the only thing I really enjoyed in this book was the aftermath of the Fall of the US and what happened to it and how things run now. I honestly thought it was one of the more realistic ones I’ve read. That was the driving force for me to see how this book ends.

I loved this sequel. Marie Lu became my favorite author after reading this and I was so disappointed when my local library didn’t have the next book because I was so hooked!
Prodigy is the second book in the Legend series by Marie Lu. It begins just days after June and Day escape the Republic and Los Angeles. Day is presumed dead, and the Republic sees their prodigy, June, as a traitor. They are on the run, turning to the Patriots, once the very people June viewed as the enemy. But desperate times call for desperate …
A worthy “bridge” installment in the trilogy, revealing more layers to the characters and their backstory as well as providing enough suspense to come back for the third and final installment.
This is the second book of the Legend trilogy. I stayed up all night reading it a few years ago.
All around fantastic book, which I highly recommend. This book provided an interesting take on how rising sea levels would result in another American Civil War. Great dystopian book, for sure!
