Is Colton Ford just another wolf dressed in sheep’s clothing, or is he the real thing?Colton all but wears a sign that says ‘No Women Allowed’ after his failed marriage to Pam. Pam promised him the world but never delivered. It’s no wonder when he meets the beautiful and intelligent Julia, he doesn’t let his heart pave the way. Colton’s love of his horse ranch, his students, his brothers and his … brothers and his money keep him happy. He doesn’t need or want anything else. When Julia walks into his life, Colton decides it’s best to proceed with caution, and the feeling is mutual.
John is sexy, successful and perfect fiancé material…when he’s not controlling, delusional and downright creepy. But how do you dump a guy your loyal and loving father fixes you up with, without breaking two hearts? When Julia goes MIA to her estranged sister’s place out of state, John goes ballistic. Especially when her sister works with dreamy-eyed Colton, and Julia finds herself spending a lot of time with them. But it’s difficult to keep someone safe when you don’t know they’re in danger.
Gun-shy, self-protective, and hiding from the truth, Julia is in no position to open her heart to anyone. Particularly when she has to look over her shoulder for her stalker fiancé every step of the way. Fearful and scarred, Julia doesn’t know what to do when her hormones wake up just at the sight of Colton. It seems no matter what door she opens, both the wolf and the sheep are there. When Julia’s past finally catches up to her, John demands her to do the one thing she can’t do…or die.
…
Her loyalty and all-consuming love were the reasons why I chose her…until she made me a promise she didn’t keep.
She was the one who waited for me while I was overseas. She was the one who loved me the way nobody else did. She’s also the one who broke my heart by not keeping her promise.
I thought I was done with women for good…until Julia came along.
Afghanistan changes a man in a way nothing else can, and the women flock to me like magnets because of it…but I don’t want any of them. The way they look at me, I’d like to tear their eyes out.
Julia doesn’t look at me like I’m a piece of meat. She also doesn’t see dollar signs when she finds out I’m a Ford boy.
Problem is, Julia doesn’t want anyone any more than I do. She’s running from something, but she won’t tell me what or whom….and then I find out the hard way.
….
Sure, running away is the cowardly thing to do. But if you were in my shoes, you might have done the same.
Colton is the type of guy to steer clear of, at least that’s what my sister Liz says. He’s got this smouldering look that makes me lock eyes with him. But then we both look away. And it’s all good, because another man is the last thing I need…especially another man with major issues.
When Colton finds out what I’m running from, he teaches me a thing or two about men, and not in a way I would expect.
He’s full of surprises…especially that one kiss that leaves me breathless. It’s the last thing either of us wants…and the first thing we both need. He promised it would never happen again, but evidently his body and his heart are at a crossroads. I’m suffering from the same affliction.

Love triangle? Or a man and woman finding love whilst a mad man obsessed with her wants her back?!
Colton is definitely avoiding women, they are nothing but trouble. After the last woman in his life took his heart and pounded it into the dirt! Students, horses and and his brothers are all he needs in his life.
Until he meets her…..
Julia needs somewhere to hide, she’s hiding from a possessive fiancée, at first it was ok, he was there for her when she need him, but things are beginning to jiggle her.
So she runs to her sister. Liz works in a bar.
That’s where she meets Colton, he’s cute, sure, but no now way is she looking for any entanglement. She’s just escaped one man, she doesn’t need another one tell her what to do!
Being almost the baby of the family (Wade is the youngest) Colton might have served in the military, he might have the muscles and the tattoos, but I got the impression it’s all for show, he seems like a good guy who hasn’t found the right woman yet.
Julia I thought at first a little bit of a pushover. Letting your friends talk you into things that you don’t feel comfortable with. Even Liz takes advantage!
First book in a five book series. Doesn’t end on a cliffhanger, so don’t think you’ll need to read the rest.
It was an easy read, a few little points I was unhappy about, but nothing that really spoils the book.
The couple sort of flirt around one another, shy away from each other, but they are drawn towards each other. Nether want to make that first step, they are both hurting from past loves…..
Love her sister she was there even she needed her, and looks out for her.
Only thing I did have issue with is her friend told her to leave her ring at home and wear something sexy! (you would think she wants her friend to cheat on her fiancé?)
Colton’s brothers did have me chuckling, and hooked, so I need to find out if they get their stories.
And what happens when John the fiancé turns up?
I received a complimentary review of this book from Voracious Readers Only. It was the first book I received from them and also the first book written by Sandra Alex, and I must say I was not disappointed. Having not read anything by this author before I was unsure of her writing style, and as such it took me a couple of chapters to adjust to it. However, after the first two chapters I could not put it down. If you like classic romance with steamy chapters, this is the book for you. There were a couple of grammar errors that I noticed, but this really does not take anything away from the story. Based on this book, the author is a great storyteller and I can’t wait to read the next release!! I strongly recommend this as a read or gift for young adults!
This is book 1 in the Ford Brothers Series and I can’t wait to read the next one. A strong woman who gets away from a toxic relationship, a man whose relationship has ended and is nursing a broken heart is where Colton & Julies’ story begins. It’s a story that will grab you from the beginning and you won’t want it to end. Heartwarming, funny, and action-packed, this book is fantastic. I received this as an ARC from Book Sirens and give my honest review.
This book is the love story of Julia and Colton. The plot had a lot of different twists that were definitely entertaining. I couldn’t put it down and finished the book in one day. I definitely recommend this book.I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
This book has a good mix of humor and romance. Love at first sight mingled with a second chance to find real love. The characters are easy to like except for the creepy ex. I wasn’t expecting his outcome, but it was a good fit for his character. Once I started reading I wanted to finish it. Can’t wait to read about the other four brothers.
I enjoyed this story, it was an easy read.
Julia has left her controlling ex and is visiting her sister when she meets Colton. He’s been burned by love before and stays clear of women but Julia takes his breath away. When the ex comes looking for Julia, Colton feels the need to protect her.
This book is exactly what you expect, a love story between two people who have both had bad relationships. Julia’s sister and friend along with Colton’s brothers provide some light relief.
The story is good although there are a few mistakes scattered through the book, but not enough to ruin the story.
I was confused by the relationship with Julia’s dad and her sister Liz. Thirteen years after kicking her out he turns up as if nothing happened, I found that a bit hard to understand, especially with his relationship with Julia being so different.
I also got a bit tired of all the ‘sweeties’ from Colton and the ‘I love you’s’ after only a few weeks.
I received a complementary copy of this book via Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review.
ONE MAGNIFICENT WHIRLWIND!!!
Fantastic! Sandra doesn’t disappoint and nor fail to bring everything she has to share, showcasing this spectacular piece of perfection, laying it out with immense talent, ingenuity, style, fervor, vivid imagination and unique insight for detail. Cognizant of the instant realization and charged atmosphere, along with a bevy of astonishing twists and shocking turns, testing our characters in ways they could have never envisioned. Anarchy, escapades and havoc run amuck, kicking this gem into a roaring tempest, blasting it into a frenzy with a life-altering denouement. Sparks fly as drama, intrigue, misgivings, accusations, turmoil, secrets, peril, mounting suspense and precarious situations along with a boatload of chaos while dodging calamity, you have one prize winning masterpiece. A surging vortex of fervent events and distressing circumstances, blow this bad boy wide open. The attraction and chemistry sizzles, alluring and mesmerizing, binding them to one another beautifully. The dynamics and countenance in layer upon layer that you peel back with each page your drawn into this web so deep until everything else ceases to exist. The characters are complex and authentic with depth and traits that blend and flow smoothly transforming into genuinely relatable personalities. The scenes are strikingly sharp with abundant details and descriptions creating a colorful backdrop that makes the storyline pop. Remarkable job Sandra, thanks for sharing this little treasure with us.
This author is new to me. I enjoyed this story a lot. I loved how protective Colton is. I look forward to reading about his brothers especially Wade. I would love to have a big brother like Colton.
First by this author and I really enjoyed this book plenty of action and swoon worthy moments
Super hott story! Leaves you wanting more! The twists and turns are agonizing. You want them to just be together but they’re fighting it! Great plot and the characters are relatable. Can’t wait to read the next book!
This is the first book I have read by this author and I really enjoyed it. Julie visits her sister after things take a sinister turn with her fiance. Colton works at the bar that her sister works at and there is an instant connection that neither can explain.
When danger lurks Colton will do all he can to keep her safe. It’s a super sweet read. Can’t wait to catch up with the other brothers!
I recieved a free review copy of this book and im leaving a voluntary review.
I didnt think i’d like this book when i started it but i was engaged from the first chapter. I like the connection between the two main characters. The writing style is so descriptive it pulled me into the scene as i was reading it.
I recommend this book to anyone who likes romance, a little suspense and friendship
He was nothing to do with women after he had his heart broken. She has a stalker and will not risk getting close to anyone just in case. They may be prefect for each other but their pasta may make it more difficult. Will he keep her safe? See if he can

this is my first book by this author and I loved it. Romance and suspense what more could you want! Chemistry between Colton and Julia was great!
I found this book an interesting read. The story line was good and I liked the characters, Colton and Julia. Both of these characters come with relationship disasters. Does Colton or Julia give up or give in to love? I liked meeting the Ford brothers and I am interested to see where this series goes from here.

This book was a an awesome read. I enjoyed every page. Who doesn’t love a prince charming and white knight! I liked the story, the characters, how it was written, the hot scenes and the HEA. I’ll be reading more from this author.
I think the author tried to make this a suspenseful read but it didn’t quite come together for me. While I’m a fan of dual POV’s with multiple ones, like in this story, it’s hard to adapt to the different personas. It just didn’t work. I feel those of her father & friend were a little unnecessary, perhaps that could’ve been woven into the story differently. As for John I’m not so sure. Maybe we could’ve been left thinking what he was up to. There were enough hints. At times the dialogue was a bit verbose & even immature. Julia was portrayed as a good girl & being a teacher it achieved that but it fell flat for me. Because of her chastity it would’ve been more of interest if her fiancé was a cheater as well as being obsessive.
Sorry this is a bit negative but I did persevere & finish it but unfortunately it was a hard task.

I like that the solution for the stalker. The plot is fine. The characters are decent. The biggest let down of the book is the actual writing. First person should only be done by one person–two if you actually change voices. But having four povs makes it boring. The father’s pov could have been switched to Jon with all the information George gives coming from a warped lens. Colton really doesn’t need a pov. It would actually be better to leave it up to Julia without knowing what is going on in Colt’s head. Mary’s visit adds nothing and neither does the fundraiser. Sandra just needs an actual editor or if she already has one a better one.
Proceed With Caution is my first read by Sandra Alex. It is our introduction to the Ford Brothers.
This is a sweet, slow burn romance about two people trying to escape their pasts.
Julia heads to North Carolina under the guise of visiting her sister and nephew, but in reality she is trying to run from her very controlling ex-fiancé.
Colton cannot put his failed marriage behind him and move on.
Circumstances have Colton coming to Julia’s rescue. Bringing them closer than either imagined.
This book is about family, the ones we are born into and the ones we build. Finding the person who will believe in your dreams and encourage you to go after them. And, the person who you trust enough to give your whole self too.
This was a sweet romance read. I enjoyed the book, characters, and plot line. Colton is the perfect book boyfriend and there is more to him than meets the eye. He is just who Julia needs to break free and become her own person. The heat between them sizzled just right. I did find the terminology strange at times- giggle for men and some wording redundant. However, I believe Sandra is a newer author. And, in the whole picture of my review it did not put me off the book, I still enjoyed Julia and Colton’s story and would recommend. I also look forward to reading the series and seeing them all find their HEA!!

This is a semi-sweet love story between Julia and Colton. Julia’s problems are much more serious and current than Colton’s making him less sympathetic. What I expected to happen didn’t, but I was not expecting how it all played out. The relationship between the brothers was good natured and fun and sets up the rest of the series. I did enjoy reading this book.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Book Sirens and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review. All opinions are my own.
