Two shy people… didn’t think he’d meet the woman of his dreams.
Especially when that woman is the computer geek who lives in the apartment next to his.
Charlotte Harper spends more time on her computer than she does with people, and working from home makes it difficult to socialize, much less meet men and her last relationship ended up ending badly.
Of course, there is the sexy firefighter that lives below her, but he barely looks at her when he breezes by, grunting a hello. Not that she does much to catch his attention. So, when she stumbles on an adult chatroom, and sees the handle, ‘sexy firefighter’, she has to say hello.
As they talk on line, they also begin to talk in person, not knowing they are also conversing online.
That is until some of their in-person chats mimic those online and when they put two and two together, sparks fly.
But when a stalker comes out of the woodwork, will their new found relationship survive?

A wonderful story for Gavin and Charlotte. Both have trust issues and decide to look at a dating site. The storyline has suspense, romance, and humor. The characters are witty and believable. I loved the story and the author.
I just love how Jen Talty can pack so much into a quick read and have it flow so naturally and make you feel like you read a longer book. Gavin and Charlotte and awesome they both like each other but are totally shy about it and wont act on it. There is plenty of awkward moments, lol moments, times were you want to smack their heads together and a good amount and suspense and surprises while we see if they can realise they are meant for each other.
This book was a delight with romance, suspense, humor, wonderful leading characters and online dating conversations! What more could you ask for? Gavin Nash, dedicated firefighter, has recovered from the burns he suffered on duty and knows it is time to get back in to the dating scene. After he was burned, the woman he was dating bailed and he was hesitant to start dating again. He decides to try online dating that was recommended by his coworker. He immediately is interested in a woman on the website…and also the woman who lives next door. Charlotte Harper is a computer programmer and works from home. She has had to block one man on the dating website, but is interested in the man calling himself “sexy firefighter”. She is also interested in her attractive next-door neighbor. What are the odds that they are living next door to each other and corresponding on the online site at the same time? When they realize what is happening between them, danger appears as her online stalker makes his move. I loved this story as it is just the right length with charming family characters on both sides as Gavin and Charlotte try to find their chance at love. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation from the author. (by paytonpuppy)
This is a single-bite novella that tackles the good, bad, and funny of online dating – where the bad is maybe more creepy and dangerous than just bad. Charlotte is a shy computer whizz; Gavin is Sexyfirefighter – which really says it all. They are shy with each other in real life, but connect, unknowingly, on a dating site, and then their “real” relationship morphs into something more. Add in a family occasion, a truly creepy stalker, some baggage on both sides – and some wow! heat – and you have a great way to pass an evening before bed (that might give you some ideas for in it). I thoroughly recommend this story!
A little sinister, a little silly, and a whole lot of sexy. Family legacies aren’t the easiest things to carry, whether you’re a golden child or the black sheep. Gavin and Charlotte know this first hand. Bad past relationship experiences have made both of them hesitant to trust others, but there’s a spark between them that they just can’t resist. When online chats in a local singles site move into the real world, what’s the worst, and best, that could happen? I loved these characters. They’re sweet and complex and just so easy to fall in love with. Now I’m going to be madly researching to discover what else is available in this series that I haven’t read yet, ‘cause I kinda went and fell in love with all of Gavin’s family too.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
Great story
This is another well written novella by this talented author. A genre not easy to write successful but one in which this author excels.
The story centers around Charlotte Harper and Gavin Nash.
Charlotte is a computer wiz, living a quiet life, shy, and Gavin’s neighbor. She is intrigued with him but they have never had much interaction. When she decides she wants to date, she signs up on an online dating site.
Gavin is reserved, and self conscious of burn scars on his face and body. He’s been burned before in love and is very cautious with women. He too is intrigued with his neighbor , but thinks she is not interested in him. He too signs up on a dating site. Little did they know that their new online friends are themselves.
The story is sweet , at times funny, with some family dynamics thrown in as well as suspense.
An entertaining story for an afternoon of leisure.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
