In 1877, at the height of craziness in Dodge City, Kansas, four women sit in jail, awaiting their fate. The marshal has no idea what to do with them, and certainly can’t let them back out on the streets. Too dangerous. He tells the women they have two choices. They can either join a wagon train headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico as mail order brides, or be sent to the state prison. When the women … the women agree to his plan, he hires a brothel owner whose business just burned to the ground to chaperone the ladies on the wagon train.
A brothel owner as a chaperone? There’s bound to be trouble for Adelaide, Cinnamon, Becky and Miranda with Miss Nellie in charge.

I have been provided with a review copy of Prisoners of Love Books 1-3: Adelaide Cinnamon Becky by the author for an impartial review. This box set has the following titles Adelaide, Cinnamon, and Becky. I’ll update my review as I finish each title.
Adelaide
This is the first book in the Prisoners of Love-Mail Order Brides series and what it was a great way to introduce these characters. In this book you get to see Adelaide and Miles find their way with each other and find their happily ever after. This book just had me so emotional with what these characters had gone through I was just trying not to cry whenever something sad was mentioned. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next in this series.
Cinnamon
Becky
These books are an okay read but there are so many grammatical errors in them. Amazing they made it past proofreaders.
Three little novellas that were such fun to read. All the characters have a great background to bring to the story. 1880s Western about women offered an opportunity to begin their lives over on a wagon train.
Good read
I had a hard time putting this one down.
strong characters which kept me wondering how the story would end. Liked this book more than I thought I would from the cover. good historical look into how things were many many years ago. Good read.
I like hearing about everyone in the situation and the different points of view of the same event. Always interesting how the author can think out 5 stories at the same time and keep they separate, but intertwine them too.
Great story, well told. Worth reading!
In 1877, at the height of craziness in Dodge City, Kansas, four women sit in jail, awaiting their fate. The marshal has no idea what to do with them, and certainly can’t let them back out on the streets.
He tells the women they have two choices. They can either join a wagon train headed to Santa Fe, New Mexico as mail order brides, or be sent to the state prison. When the women agree to his plan, he hires Nellie a brothel owner whose business just burned to the ground to chaperone the ladies on the wagon train.
Adelaide is a recent widow who just lost her child Mary & her husband on the same day. Miles Ryan is returning to his parents’ ranch & has been threatened by the wagon train master that he and his two recalcitrant daughters will be left behind at Fort Dodge if he doesn’t find a wife to control the girls.
Miles takes one look at Adelaide and decides she’s for him. Unfortunately, it’s not until the deed is done that she learns she is a mother once again.
Cinnamon who prefers to be called Mindy before they even leave, childhood friend, Jedediah Nelson, newly ordained preacher headed to Santa Fe, and in need of a wife, proposes to Mindy. Mindy is the daughter of a prostitute & has never felt good enough for Jed & dreads how his new congregation will take to her.
Becky Davidson has been on her own since she was thirteen years old. The last three years she has been travelling the country with Dr. Snodgrass a quack doctor who ran off leaving Becky stranded & owing money. Before they leave, Becky is befriended by Mace Jensen, the Santa Fe County sheriff who is escorting three recently captured outlaws to Santa Fe. Once they arrive at their destination, friendship grows between Becky and Mace, as she works with him in the jailhouse and dodges every man Miss Nellie presents to her as a potential husband.
Not my usual genre but I love the author’s Regency novels & I found myself engrossed in each of these three short stories & read each one in a sitting. Each is well written & the characters well fleshed. I found myself lost in the three stories & each of their journeys to their HEA. I’m looking forward to the other two women finding their HEAs too
Didn’t like it
I enjoyed this book very much.
It was okay but just didn’t keep my interest.
It’s a good book if you like that kind of book
Enjoyed these stories very much. Wish the last two were available at this time as well.
This is a new twist. Go to jail or become a mail order bride.
Kind of cute. Nothing outstanding, but I’ve read a lot worse. I’d recommend it for anyone who wants to do some light reading.
Great reading, not always predictable. Love historical aspects.
Easy read, very good. Interesting characters.
Each story was entertaining. Worth the time
Very entertaining…..like reading about the wild west.
