Imprisoned, tormented and forgotten…
I’ve never seen the outside of these four walls. I was born in Nightmare Penitentiary, and I’ll probably die here too.
Or so I thought.
When an assassin captures me, I realize I’m far more powerful than anyone knows. I’m a princess. A Druid. The last of my kind. I command the earth and the moon speaks to me. There is royal blood running through these … running through these veins.
Tasked with bringing me back to my family, my captor is stuck by my side. The more time we spend together, the more I learn about the birthright stolen from me and the enemy who stole it. And the longer I’m with my assassin, the more my heart softens.
I never imagined that a harsh, lonely man would bring help. I never thought that leaving Nightmare would put me on a much different path. A path full of hope. Of freedom. Of love. A path that leads to accepting my birthright, with an assassin by my side.
But the future is blurry. There are two roads. One leads to happiness—to love. The other leads to demise. And even I can’t see which one wins.

*I received a free copy of this book which I voluntarily chose to write an honest review for.
Every time a new book comes out in this phenomenal series I get excited. Each one stands in its own but this shared world of Nightmare Penitentiary ties them together showcasing each authors writing style. This time we follow Layne who has been a prisoner her entire life. It was i.Portland to keep her out of moon light which she doesn’t understand u til she is accidentally exposed which kicks her powers I to high gear. Powers she k does nothing about but everyone wants. Cypress is sent to rescue her but he gets a lot more then he bargained for. Makes for a captivating read that you won’t want to put down. A must read for fans of paranormal romance. I totally loved it so I give it 5/5 stars.
*WARNING* story contains explicit adult situations
This was an entertaining story. Layne states that she did nothing to be in prison, but her story is not what I expected. The story has some unsurprising plot twists. I’m not sure it’s a “job” to love someone, but….
Layne Montgomery has not had an easy life. All she know is Nightmare Penitentiary, and that place is what well, nightmares are made of.

So what do you do when all you know if a life behind bars. One where you never get to see the Moon, feel nature, experience life? You start looking for a window to get some freedom, and that’s just what Layne does. She finds a 30 minute window where she can escape to the outdoors, for just a moment she wants to taste freedom. What happens next is unexpected.
Cypress has been hired by Layne parents to bring her home. Layne, once thought dead, truly is a Princess and Cypress is going to get her back to her kingdom. Cypress, an assassin, has not had an easy life, but he is good at his job and he is determined to get Layne home before the bad guys do.
This story immediately pulled me in, there is no warm up it was instant action. Cypress, the cold and calculating assassin, slowly started to thaw as he began to see things through Layne’s eyes. Layne experiencing the world for the first time was both beautiful and heartbreaking. Not only does Layne experience the world for the first time, but without the constraints of Nightmare Penitentiary, her powers start to grow.
This book had twists, turns, I got angry a few times, I was happy a few times. I wanted to kick Cypress a few times, but in the end… I got exactly what I wanted. A fantastic tale with intrigue, good characters, and a fabulous new world. This series of books have been fabulous and this is just another winner to add to the collection!
This entire series is a recommend for me! Happy reading and cheers!
Princess, Druid, prisoner that’s what Layne was . She had seen anything outside of Nightmare Penitentiary since she was an baby. She doesn’t know why she is there or who her parents had been. She was told her name was Layne and she sits in a cell with no windows. Then this guy comes out of nowhere his name is Cypress. He said he is here to take her away to freedom, family ,she a princess, a druid and she had been kidnapped from her family. Does she trust him or is this just another trick?
Oh my lots of action, drama mystery betrayal true love, spice and so much more I could not put it down and the twist and turns are amazing. It’s a must read!
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it. Don’t miss it
A fast page page turner that had me hooked from the very beginning. It’s packed full of suspense, magic, love, action and so much more. The authors did a wonderful job with this book. The characters are amazing and the story of phenomenal!
This one has been out for a couple of days, I loved the story, the characters and the way the authors knew how to grab my attention since the beginning, the same is sweet and fierce at the same time, you’ll fall for the main characters and you’ll want to know. More of them, i highly recommend this one .
This was a great read!
It had me invested and curious to see what would come next. There is excitement, danger, paranormal and fantasy all wrapped up in a big ball of tension and heat! This book keeps you on your toes with two completely different characters that bring out each others different sides and makes you want to know more about them and their journey!
She’s been locked away for all of her childhood, deemed dangerous and guarded twenty four hours a day, seven days a week.
He takes the job knowing it wont be easy. Rescue the girl and return her to her parents.
What could possibly go wrong….
Another installment in the paranormal nightmare penitentiary series.
This time the focus is on a druid. Her powers are different and rather unique. Her soul belongs to both the moon and the earth beneath her feet.
I enjoyed this, but I could of walked away at any point I wasnt constantly gasping for more.
The characters were well suited to both the story, and the series on the whole, and were a good match for each other.
I would of liked more time within the prison walls with both characters, as the majority of the story was out in the real world, but it didnt take away from the story.
Overall a good solid read.
Great world building and I loved the banter between Layne and Cypress! This story kept me interested all the way through. Nothing has been easy in life for both these characters. The both have been missing something in their lives and finally the pieces are being put back into place. It was quite an adventure I was on as I read this story and I enjoyed it all as it unfolded.
Layne has lived all of her life in prison never knowing her true identity or her rightful place in the world. When a stranger breaks her out and takes her on an adventure Layne does not know what to expect. Soon she finds out that she is more than what she believed herself to be and is on her way back to her family to grow and learn what she truly is. Cypress may be a hard man, but his heart softens for Layne. As the two make their way back to Layne’s true home the two must work through their own feelings and figure out their own story.
I enjoyed meeting Layne and Cypress. Their story is an interesting and engaging one. The two come from such different worlds yet they find a way to connect. Layne has never been outside of her prison and must learn to live while Cypress must learn to understand and open his heart not only for Layne but for himself as well. It was nice to watch their relationship grow and turn into something deeper. This is a fast-moving story with strong characters that will grab your attention and keep it until the end.
Prison Princess by Coralee June is a real departure from her Bullet series which I loved. Layne has been a prisoner for her entire life. She doesn’t know anything else. With no clue as to why she is there she is shocked when a stranger comes to break her out. Cypress is a trained assassin who was paid to rescue Layne. While on their journey from the prison Layne learns she is a Druid Princess. As their journey progresses she learns she has exceptional powers. The journey to her parents is one that is not only dangerous but her feelings for Cypress has her powers going haywire. Initially this was an ok story but as everything unfolds as to why she was in that prison and just how powerful she is, this story turned into something much more. I loved Layne and Cypress’s relationship. The more it grew the more I enjoyed it. By the end of the story I had a big smile on my face and was pleased to the utmost. 4 stars for me.
This story has a very interesting mythology and the storyline dumps you right in and doesn’t let go. It’s hard not to love Layne and even when you want to shake Cypress, he’s endearing. I enjoyed this quick fantasy read and would love to see more with these characters and this world!
I think I am on a roll of reading some really good books and Prison Princess is one of those really good books!!! This is the first book in Paranormal Prison and this is the first book that I have read by Rebecca Royce. I love Coralee June’s books and that is why I wanted to read this one. These two ladies had me enthralled with Prison Princess and I read it in a morning.
Layne Montgomery is a Princess and a druid and she knows nothing about herself. She has been kept in the dark so to speak so she can’t access powers that she knows nothing about. Her parents finally found her and Cypress an assassin and a druid was sent to rescue Layne. The Princess has never known her parents.
I loved this story as demonstrated in reading in only 1 morning! I hope these two authors get together again. I want more!!! 4.5 stars.
No spoilers of any kind included.
Prison Princess was pretty good, it kept me interested from the moment I started the story right up until the end.
So yes I will recommend this book to anyone searching for a good story to climb into.
I enjoyed this book and I can see it easily being a series. The mc was innocent in some ways and hard in others. The guy was a lovable jerk. This maded me interested in the rest of the prison series.
