“I can tear your throat out right here,” he said, his voice a hushed whisper of threats and spilled blood. “I could kill you a thousand different ways where you sit.” The nail cut deeper. Blood beaded, then spilled down my front, over my breasts. I choked on a whimper. “Now tell me everything.” Few knew Valissa’s secret but it already carried a death toll. One.If the Gods ever discovered what she … One.
If the Gods ever discovered what she was, they would capture and flay her alive.
But in the land of Gods and Monsters, no secret stays hidden for long.
Lissa—drunk on the high of a midnight party that’s rife with mysterious pirates—gets too close to one of the pirates, who turns out to have secrets of his own.
Jasper is no pirate. He is a servent of the Gods. And the moment she touches him, she steals his power.
He kidnaps Lissa, and he’s taking her to one of the most brutal Gods in all the lands … He’s taking her to Prince Poison.
Prince Poison’s mere touch kills and his cruelty is said to stretch beyond even the darkest pits of Lissa’s soul. But when she’s standing in front of this fearsome God, ready to face her gruesome fate, the Prince might see more in her than she ever thought possible.

This was a great read. I thought the story was very well written and flowed well. The story kept me glued to the pages to see how everything would turn out. Sometimes the person you should fear ends up being all you want. I loved the characters and had this read in one sitting. I would highly recommend this read.
Prince Poison is the first book in the Gods and Monsters series and in this book we get introduced to Lissa and the powers she has. We also learn about her life on the island. The storyline and the characters held my attention from beginning to end and I look forward to reading the rest of this story.
Prince Poison: (A Dark Enemies-to-Lovers Romance) by Quinn Blackbird is an awesome story that I have read. This is book number one in this awesome series that I have loved reading and can not wait to read the rest. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about dark erotica, dark and paranormal romance.

Before I begin my review for Prince Poison (Gods and Monsters #1) by Quinn Blackbird, I would personally like to thank the author, the publishers and Booksprouts for the opportunity to read this ARC and I have reviewed it honestly.
A world ruled by ruthless Gods and their evil spawn, a forbidden power cursing through her veins and a darkness standing by inside her soul, Valissa’s life is about to take a turn. Unwilling use of her forbidden powers forces Valissa away from her home and towards the island of the Gods. What fate will await her when she meets Prince Poison?
Prince Poison features, but is not limited to, the following themes:
Gods
Monsters
Demi Gods
Forbidden powers
Evil Gods
Captive
My overall rating for Prince Poison is…
4 Stars!
Quick and straight to the point, Prince Poison was an insightful and alluring introduction to the novella series. Engaging and thought provoking, this book left me wanting more! Luckily, the series is available through KU! Though there is no romance in this first novella, the series promises a dark, enemies to lovers love affair. I’m anticipating smut (oh god, please be smut!) and a case of Stockholm syndrome.
This is my first time reading this author. It’s a short read but at times it seems complicated and easy to get lost along the way. Being the first book of the series, it may just be that there is a lot of setting the scene/world and backstory being told in it. It’ll be interesting to see where the author goes with this series.

Holy moly! This is like the ungodly lovechild of Trudi Canavan’s Priestess of the White and Pirates of the Caribbean. I never knew I needed this. It may only be a relatively short introductory novella, but there is a whole load more to unpick than first meets the eye.
I cannot get over the atmosphere this short serial-starter creates. It’s tense and dangerous, full of magic of the darkest kind. Characters and places are vividly written, splashes of vibrant color setting the scene in a mix somewhere between ancient mythology and the 1800s. It shouldn’t work, but it does. Some things don’t initially make sense, but explanations come in dribs and drabs that flesh out the world and Lissa’s character.
About Lissa. Oh dang, do I love me a good brave-coward character. Yes, that is a contradictory description, but know this: she’s obviously the “hero” and yet she doesn’t run into situations full of confidence and vigor. Her anxieties feel realistic, not overblown or completely forgotten about. And her mental state, well… (view spoiler) This could be interesting.
Beware the cliffhanger at the end of this episode. It is an introduction, episode one, so is short on actual story. I devoured it so fast I nearly got mental indigestion. It raises so many questions. No romance yet, but if the tone is anything to go by it’s not going to be your sickly sweet Happily Ever After…
I didnt think id enjoy this but as a introduction to the main story it couldnt have gone better. It has drama and suspense. It draws you in from the first page.
Highly recommend
Lissa has a forbidden power. She must hide it because revealing it would mean death. Unfortunately one night by accident it comes out. Lissa is kidnapped along with her best friend by pirates with special powers. They are taking her to a God. Prince Poison to be exact, the worst God there is. She also has a Darkness inside her. She shows no emotion most of the time & has terrible thoughts of hurting people, without any emotions about it. What will happen when they get to the Prince’s palace?
