What a awesome storyteller!!! This is a whole new spin on the legend of dracula. This tale is the story of his brother Radek who was cursed like his brother vlad, but radek’s curse is to become a monster every midnight who can kill by showing his face, the curse will cause the black death to all who look upon his face. When Juliet is sent to investigate and find out how someone as young as radek has amassed so much wealth and power she becomes fascinated with this sick twisted cursed man and is slowly becoming enslaved to his nightly visits and his total possession of not only her body but her soul as well. This book isn’t warm, fuzzy or romantic. It’s a totally erotic lusty read with strong language and details, but it is done so well !!! Ana has written awesome characters with great detail and flame worthy chemisty!!! This tale is only beginning and Drac has made his apperance, but theirs more to come for him and radek. Who will come out on top! I Can’t wait to see!!
Next up in this series: Prince Of Obsession
I can’t wait for the second book!! Loved it.
Prince of Midnight (Dracula’s Bloodline Book 1)Kindle Edition
by Ana Calin
I received a complimentary copy from the author and am leaving a fair and honest review.
Using both myth and legends – Ms. Calin creates a highly charged erotic horror story with nor the usual son of Wallachia, not Vlad as the romantic hero or anti-hero seducing Mina and/or Lucy but his brother, Radu (one of two brothers to our beloved Drac) the Handsome. Rather than a vampire, he is something darker, more mysterious sympathetic monster.
Juliet is an intrepid reporter in a slump – professionally and romantically and treading water. Her less that loving boss sends her on a paparazzi trip to interview Radek, a Romanian (technically Wallachian) prince involved in investments. After seeing him, odd things happen to her. Soon, she finds herself whisked away to a castle in the dark woods of the Carpathians.
He releases something in her, allowing her a erotic relationship like she has never had. And then things go bad.
The writing is a little raw and at times disconcerting, Radu is at times horribly modern, at others incredibly archaic or Victorian. And Juliet is a tad wishy washy. The villain is kind of recycled. But it is a mark of Ms. Calin’s talent that the book is still enjoyable.
3.5 out of 5 rounded up to a 4 for Amazon ratings.

Juliet, a young and hungry journalist gets sent to Europe to meet a prince, little does she know that he is more than a normal prince, he has a dark side.
Radek, is the brother of Dracula. He has a very different curse to Dracula, still dangerous though. He is a handsome man, well in daylight!
I liked both the characters and the story. Loved the sex scenes and their growing connection.
The pace really picked up near the end and my heart was pounding.
I felt it could have been even better if the characters were developed a smidgen deeper.
I love a paranormal read and this is an enjoyable romp. Diving into book 2 now.
3.75 stars
I found myself consumed by this book. It starts off fairly slowly and there is an edge of horror about it initially which just helps to strengthen the plot. Our MC’s are interesting, Juliet is a journalist and is determined to show Radek in a poor light as a greedy millionaire with only his own personal gain at heart. She travels to the Carpathian mountains to the home of our most famous vampire Count Dracula, which is now Radek’s abode, only to discover things are not as they seem.
This was an interesting way to retell the story of Castle Bran, the plot is well developed and I became engaged with the characters and of course the romance that develops.
If you enjoy PNR then this first book of the series is well worth the read.
oh my, this is definitely a book to escape the world from.
As soon as you start reading you are caught up with the romance between Juliet and her hot vampire prince, Radek.
I loved this book. Great story telling, fab setting and really good characters.
Hot, handsome, prince whose also a prince, what’s not to like 🙂
4 Cranky Stars
This was a quick and satisfying read. It was dark, sexy, and compelling. It’s like a mixture of Anne Rice, with it’s intense, old world, obsessive love. And more modern writing, like JR Ward.
At times, the wording and feeling of this book reminds you of late 1800’s Romania with castles, and long corridors made of stone, flowing capes, and candles. At other times, it reminds you of today’s technology with modern expressions and phrases. I love the leading lady. Juliet is not a mindless waif. She’s aware of herself and that not all love is good love. She knows her relationship with the prince is unhealthy and she readily admits that. This gives the story some turbulence, which is a good thing.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars. I am definitely going to be reading the next installment.
A vampire hot romance.

Upon her arrival, things are not as they seem! She discovers many secrets within the castle walls and with the Prince. It is action packed and a thrill to read! On to the next book~
Prince of Midnight (Dracula’s Bloodline Book 1)
Juliet is a bottom feeder journalist who believes with a good story she could rise in her career. What are you do when you went to rise? That’s correct; you go hang out with the Prince of Midnight (Radek), who is also the brother of Dracula. This kind of story is hard to review without spoiling it for others.
The author did an excellent job in the world and character building. The characters exciting to learn about in the story itself was an easy read am I quite the page-turner. It was extremely fast paced in my favorite; there were no parts that seemed long-winded.
I would recommend anyone who likes any kind of fantasy or vampire type storylines. Even if you don’t, I would totally pick it up and give it a try. It’s a lot different than most in this genre.
Darkly fascinating
I really loved being caught up in this story. Sensual paranormal romance, I loved the interaction between the two brothers. Love Juliet and Dracula’s relationship, an gripping erotic vibe in that castle in the Carpathian Mountains. I think the characters are the great strength of this book!
Definitely worth reading
Although paranormal romance isn’t my typical kind of reads, this book was definitely worth reading. Prince Radek (Prince of Midnight) is handsome, hot and powerful. A mixture that made women unable to resist him. Juliet the young, ambitious journalist couldn’t resist him either. However, unlike the other women she fell in love with his dark side too. This is a very good written paranormal romance with few very hot scenes which I liked them so much.
I highly recommend this book, it was full of twists and turns that made me unable to put it down.
This story is absolutely off the charts. My reviews are a bit longer, but I don’t do spoilers. The writing and flow of this book is amazing. I absolutely recommend this book. One thing I can say I love the Prince of Midnight.
A must read in a new series starter
Juliet, a novice journalist, picks on Radek, a reclusive prince, at a press conference earning his undivided attention. As the story progresses secrets are kept, emotions turn deadly and danger seems to come from all sides. Prince of Midnight is a wonderfully twisted tale of betrayal, love and suspense. Ana Calin has taken a turn at the legend surrounding Vlad the Impaler and his brother Radu. In this mentally stimulating and suspenseful tale the reader is introduced to the Prince of Midnight and given a lovely taste of what to expect in this must read new series starter.
I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.
Wow!! Intense, adventure, wonderment, sex, and no sense of where the story might go from one moment to the next, unable to put the book down until you’ve read every last page! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what comes next from this author! Highly Recommend and comes with an easy 5 stars!
