I grabbed up Prince: A thrilling, action-adventure romance. (Dirty Players Book 1) because I wanted a light royal romance… and it wasn’t really what I was looking for, but I did manage to finish it AND I read the sequel too.
I would describe it as Princess Diaries meets Oceans 11 but it’s got more of the cheesy Disney-ish fluff than I expected and too much dramatic suspense for my normal tastes.
However, the book’s redeeming quality is that Tia Louise writes characters that I want to be friends with, and Cal is totally my book boyfriend and I want Zelda to be my new BFF. She’s strong and clever… and he’s just super hot and a prince!
Cal and Zelda are amazing!!!!! This story and audiobook was phenomenal! This book has so much… chemistry….. angst….. mystery….. love…..
Zee is so wonderful.. She deeply cares for those in her life. She wants to do the right thing even when she has messed up. Cal is so swoony and real. He wanted Zee… he fought for Zee… he worked to keep Zee safe… he was one of my favorite heroes.
Natalie Duke and Gary Furlong did amazing in the narration. Gary was the perfect Cal!
Loved it so much!
I just re-read this…AGAIN. I’m not sure how many that makes. Lol. Love love love this series!Tia Louise is one of my favorites!
* I received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review. *
Prince was previously published under the title ‘The Prince & The Player.’ It is the first book in the Dirty Players Series.
This book was written different than I am used to. I read the blurb, but I guess I did not remember the two storylines so when I began reading, I was so confused. I was not expecting the story to follow two different couples. I was expecting Rowan and Zelda to be together so when he kept talking about not being able to take his eyes of Ava I was really lost.
If I were to change anything, I would have given both couples their own book. I know that Zelda is set up to be with Rowan, but I feel we still could have kept the plotline and told their story separately. Besides that, I did enjoy the book but heads up Zelda and Cal’s story ends on a cliffhanger and continues in the next book.
Tia Louise has a great writing style and has some unexpected twists and turns. Some of her books are thought provoking.
Wow!! What an incredible story!! I love how Tia was able to weave both stories in this one novel. I was on the edge of my seat reading this book and loved how the scene was set for future stories. Zelda is such a complex character and I feel we haven’t even skimmed the surface of what we can learn about her. There is so much more to all the stories we read in this book, and I can’t wait to continue reading this series!
Not one but two sexy princes and two con artist sisters. Loved Zelda and Ava and their interesting lifestyle. What’s not to love about sexy Princes? I gotta say I was a Cal gal from the beginning and I loved his and Z’s romance. It’s was fun and sexy. Ro and Ava insta love was a little too sweet for me but still good. The royal intrigue and bad guys after control of the throne was thrilling and the danger intense. Great characters and storytelling with intrigue, drama and romance. Ends in a cliffhanger. On to the next book!
This book was fun and interesting read. I really enjoy this author’s other books so when I went in, I knew it would still have the same steam and romance, but different from her other books. This book has multiple points of views and follows several different people. The beginning begins with Zelda and her sister Ava who are con artists and they get caught by someone who threatens to hurt them if they don’t help him take down the prince. It kept me on the edge of my seat throughout with different twists and turns sometimes frustrating me because I was dying to know more. I loved each character as they all brought something unique to the story. It does end on a cliffhanger, but I will definitely be reading more to see what happens next.
Prince by Tia Louise was fast-paced and addictive.
The storyline is unique and draws you in. The twists and turns, the hint of the unexpected is what keeps you turning that page.
I can’t wait to see how the rest of this series unfolds.
Another great book by Miss Louise! I can’t wait to see what comes next!
5 SEXY ROLLERCOASTER RIDE STARS!! Wow, what a ride this was!! I absolutely loved Rowan and Zelda their story was fast paced with everything we look for in a book. This author is one of my favorite authors she know how to keep us connected to the story.
I loved this book! I’m totally hooked into this world.
Fair warning – the story twists and turns. You are left with a happy ever after AND a cliff hanger.
Never fear, this series is complete and available for purchase, so if you find yourself falling for the good guys, or the not so good guys, or the in-betweens,
The story kicks off in two different continents. Two divergently different families. A glimpse of two orphans running from abusive foster care. The concerns of a young prince watching his father while he fights for their principality.
The story speeds forward several years. Our young orphans have been on the run for a bit now. They’ve gone from sleeping on beaches to running low bit cons. We have two leading ladies. Both feisty, smart, cunning, and vulnerable. We have a ring leader. His role in the deeper plot is still veiled. He isn’t trusted by the girls, but he’s necessary.
Then there’s that moment where the con woman gets conned. In the middle of her “job” run by fellow grifter Seth, an older French gentleman pulls a trick from Hitchcock and “accidentally” looses a valuable casino chip down Zelda’s dress. Zelda, being the quick study she is, attempts to turn the gentleman’s play on him. With the help of her sister Ava, they manage a swift swap out and the girls are off with their loot.
Until the next day when they are hunted down by the mysterious gentleman and talked into a larger game.
This brings the ladies to meet King Rowan and Prince MacCallum. Zelda is supposed to woo and wed Rowan as part of her job. However, Rowan isn’t as he was described to Zee. He’s not the evil ruler and he falls in insta love with Ava. To make it more complicated, Zee finds herself falling for Cal.
As the ladies spend more time with the King and Prince they begin to suspect and then know that they have been pawns in a larger game than was sold to them.
Zee tries to extract them from the job, but the plot twists again, swiftly. They find themselves racing against newly discovered enemies, old coworkers and an assassin.
Just as the dust clears and we find that our main characters are safe in the moment, Zee begs Rowan for a favor that will save and protect her sister, but leaves Zee on the playing field to draw out the bad guys.
I was flipping through the pages so quickly as the last scenes in Rowan’s book played out that it was like running into a glass wall when Zee just vanishes.
Ms. Louise writes a very gripping love story and intrigue plot. She teases you with a bit of the next book in the series, but it’s just enough to let you know Zee is still on the move, but Cal is a few steps behind her.
The build up of the mystery, the unveiling of the larger plot, the character arcs combined with the flip flopping of whose love story this book’s is kept me glued to it. The writing is wonderful, the plot is engaging and the characters are deep with more to be revealed.
The series is complete and published, so please, dive in. The cliffhanger will only last as long as it takes you to get the next book.
Overall Grade: 1/2
There is an interesting narrative quality to Tia Louise’s rebranded Prince, book one of the Dirty Players series. Unlike other romances with dual POV where the hero takes one chapter and the heroine takes another chapter, Prince offers a dual POV with two different stories. When you pick up this book, it feels like you are getting a “two for one.” Two romances are encapsulated in Prince, and it makes for a wild ride of romance.
The story follows two sisters, Ava and Zelda, and two brothers, Rowan and “Cal,” a future king and his princely brother. Until these two meet Ava and Zelda, they are taken with fast women, playboys of a sort. As their worlds become entwined, a story of intrigue and suspense acts as the backdrop. From sultry moments and heartbreaking romance, you can’t help but fall in love with Louise’s Prince.
What Tia Louise does well in Prince and her romance-writing ilk is create chemistry. While it would be easy to say that the chemistry I speak of is only relegated to the bed, that isn’t the case. She crafts soul-mate-esque couplings that make sense from the first meeting. This is no different in Prince. You love to love Rowan and Ava, and you fall as deeply for Zelda and Cal. However, Louise always loves to complicate it, and by the end of Prince, there is still more to come, found in book 2 of the series, Player. Keep that in mind as you read this story.
If you love royals and suspense and fire between the sheets, then you want to pick up Prince. Today.
Prince by Tia Louise was previously published as The Prince & The Player and now available with a new look. I am a big fan of this author and her versatility in writing. In Prince, we meet the royal princes, Rowan and Cal, and down on their luck sisters, Zee and Ava. The story will take readers on a wild and twisted ride that is full of surprises.
Zee has always taken care of Ava and will do anything to protect her. When she is forced to seduce a prince and humiliate him, she is determined to do whatever it takes. Then she meets his brother Cal. She is intrigued and attracted to him. What was interesting is we get Zee’s point of view and her feelings for Cal, while also Rowan’s and his time with Ava. But with an uncle out to get the princes, time running out for Zee and undeniable chemistry between the couples, how will it all end? So excited to read the next book in the series!

Happy reading!
Love at first sight…with twists and turns…
I love royal romances!! This story played out like the old Hollywood romances I watched as a kid.
Our heroine is a grifter. She and her merry band of thieves have their con worked out. Little does she expect to be caught and blackmailed into an even higher stakes con by a mysterious stranger.
He wants her to win the heart of a prince…well, king actually. But what no one could predict was her target falling for her sister. And our heroine falling for the brother.
Told from the viewpoint of Zelda and Rowan (the target), we get to watch this con go anyway but as planned.
Royal intrigue, sexy distractions, hearts wanting what they want, not what they need.
I floved this book…and can’t wait to dive into the next.
This isn’t Zelda’s happy ending. She meets her prince, but it is her sister Ava’s love story we see unveiling before our eyes as Rowan finds the woman he wants as his Queen.
Intrigue, passion, suspense, wit, this book has all my favorite things!!
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
What an incredibly unique twist on dual POV. This book follows 2 couples, actually 2 sets of siblings, Zelda and Ava and Prince Rowan and Cal. While it really was supposed to be Zelda and Rowan that’s just now how it works out, although the POV is split between them. Rowan is drawn to the younger sister Ava while the chemistry between Zelda and Cal burns hot. This book is very twisty turny with lots happening. It’s a great story with some fantastic characters. This book definitely ends on a cliff hanger so excuse me while I go read the next book….
**I was generously provided with a copy of this book in exchange for my fair and honest review**
5 Stars
Zelda and Ava have had a tough start in life and when we meet them present day, they are doing what that have to, to take care of themselves. Zelda is older and always protective of her younger, more beautiful, sister. When a con goes a bit sideways and Zelda is forced into an extreme con job, involving a King, she brings Ava along with her. What follows is two parallel love stories. Zelda, the less innocent sister who believes she is the more “forgettable” one and the King’s brother, Cal, hit it off. It throws the entire plan into chaos, but the best kind! Ava, the always noticed sister who still believes in dreams, meets the King and there is instantly a connection they cannot deny. This story will tug your heartstrings and make you believe that love can really conquer so much, except pure evil must be stopped. There is a cliffhanger, though parts of the story are resolved.

I got my hands in this one and I can say that is was interesting, it has 2 POV and are 2 couples, very different that what we are used to, but at the end I really love it, the chemistry between the characters, how everything evolved and how it started is going to keep you wanting more, and I’m going to say that you are going to have to pick one favorite couple because I did , i highly recommend this one as I assure you that you are going to enjoy it as much as I did
I read this one in one sitting. The story captivated me and kept me enthralled. The drama, anticipation, angst, all added to the feel of the story. The characters are complex but lovable and sexy. Amazing!
5+ Princely stars.
I’ve been a big fan of Tia Louise for a while now. I thought I knew her writing style, but Prince surprised me. It’s a two couple romance for one thing, although the POV is from only one of each of the couples, Zelda Wilder and crown Prince Rowan of the far off island Monagasco.
Zelda and her younger sister have been searching for a place that made them feel safe for years ever since escaping their last foster home. Circumstances bring them into the less than stellar clutches of Rowan and his brother MacCallum’s unscrupulous uncle. Grand Duke Reginald Winchester gains their help in a nefarious plot to overthrow his nephew’s rule by promising them financial security.
But, it only takes one meeting for the plan to go awry as Ava unexpectedly meets Rowan before her sister does.
It’s Cal whom Zelda meets first and their attraction is as instant and undeniable as is Rowan and Ava’s. Each relationship has its moments; some romantic, some so hot your kindle might melt, but overall is a story right out of a fairytale merged with
What follows is a melding of stories, thrilling and intense as each couple finds the way to together.
This story will capture your attention from the outset and keep it until the last page. It ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, as there is another book after this one.
I fell in love with both couples, neither outshone the other and I was thoroughly invested in both relationships.
Rowan is dutiful and strong but has some hidden depths that are waiting to come out still. Cal was the actual playboy Prince but once he met Zelda every other woman faded from existence for him. She’s IT for him and he’ll do whatever it takes to keep her safe.
Zelda is the mastermind of the sisters but Ava is no pushover. Her love for Rowan will take her places she’s never been before but can she be all that he needs her to be?
This is a full action story filled with mystery, intrigue, and lots of steamy romance.
