even though this is the second Sisters of Fate story, it can easily be read as a stand alone – the story gives background on the other sisters as it is relevant – and the focus of this story is more on the possibility for Primrose, and her Rafe.
Set in Canadian sort of provinces in a terra like planet, Rafe lost his twin sister three years ago when she went hiking, after they took their Law licensing exams.
He has spent three years working with Search and Rescue trying to find her, and devoted his own life to working with the Ski Patrol and Search and Rescue groups.
Primrose helps to troubleshoot problems with mates coming together, along with her 3 sisters – and of course, she is a goddess, but does not like to advertise this – it seems more linked to her duties, than a prestige thing for her and her sibs. Since their calling is to help protect and bring together the mates for the Guardians, the lower their recognition is, the better they can do their duties.
Rafe and Primrose seem to have an almost immediate buzz – he is human, however, and she never put much stock in the reality of Mates, so they are both a bit befuddled.
Primrose may have powers, within certain parameters, but she does not herself have a means to help Rafe. She does have a source who might be able to help make inquiries, if they can get a concrete enough lead to follow.
The fundamental challenge seems to be can both partners in this equation trust the attraction – and can they trust it enough to realize it is a long term equation? Can her man accept she is not some super genie with unlimited powers, but just a gal with limited powers in limited situations – and can her accept and not be threatened by that?
What might they accomplish together?
A steamy adventure, that tests the boundaries of Fate and trust.
