Connected through time
This book is the perfect next step in this series. With another sister about to awaken and another mating about to occur, the danger just keeps ramping up. It is pretty ingenious the way the author keeps the angst and infighting going up until the very end. It really managed to keep an edginess to the story that kept me wanting to read more. I especially liked the way the Dragons and their mates seem to run a parallel life when it comes to how the siblings interact. This book is full of the action and adventure we have come to expect from this author right along with the HEA that we couldn’t do without. I am really looking forward to the next book in the series. Will Ian win, will the siblings continue to rub each other the wrong way, will the next mated pair struggle to connect? Only time, well and the author’s muse, will tell. Either way, I will be sure to put the next book on my one-click list.

OMG what a fantastic story. After reading the first book it’s time for book 2. Loved Lauchlan and Faye. She and her sisters are brought from the 1700’s forward in time. Her sister is awakened with a kiss but Faye has to be woken up a different way. As Lauchlan sheds a tear it slides from his face onto Faye’s lips. This black dragon has finally awoken his mate but will they find their way to their HEA? This is filled with magic, dragon shifters, action, adventure, drama and steam. Highly addicting from the beginning to the end. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Primal Mates
By M. L. Guida
Lauchlan is a Zalarian dragon shifter living at Stormholme Castle in Scotland. He’s a black dragon with magical powers and is concerned that, because his powers involve inflicting mental and physical pain, he may be turning evil like their sworn enemy, Ian.
His fated mate is Faye, a woman from the 1700’s who was brought forward in time, along with her two sisters. She was in a spelled sleep and it was up to him to awaken her. His older brother Rory had awakened her older sister Arya with a kiss, but Lauchlan was told that he would have to awaken Faye in a different way. He was at a loss as to how to wake her until a tear slid down his face onto her lips. That was the key to her awakening.
Faye is, of course, confused to be several hundred years in the future and something has happened to her sword; it now emits a sizzling beam when she points it at someone. She inadvertently blasts her sister with her sword and is horrified, thinking she killed her. Fortunately, Lauchlan’s younger brother, Fergus, has the gift of healing and is able to heal Arya. When Lauchlan tells her that he’s a dragon, she refuses to believe him, until he shifts. She also has problems believing their stories about Ian, but soon learns that he exists and he’s just as evil as they said. Can she save Lauchlan from his evil?
My problem with this book is that I have too many questions that weren’t answered, like I was missing too much of the back story to really be able to sort everything out. For example, Lauchlan’s mother was one of the Fates on the planet Zalara; who was his father? He was “hatched” in Scotland rather than being born. Huh? Does that mean his offspring will also be hatched or will they be born normally to a human mother? Who is Ian and how did he become so evil? Why were the three sisters brought forward in time? Since this is the third book in the series, perhaps some of these questions were answered in the first two books, but if that’s the case, the author should have warned that one needed to read the prior books first or she should have given some of the back story as a prelude.
Because of all the questions I had, it detracted from my enjoyment of the book and I can only give it a three- star rating.
