As Alpha of the Lonestar Wolf Pack and Mayor of their small Texas town, Jacob Sanderson has more than enough on his plate to handle. When women from his pack start getting killed, he knows his best resource for solving the murders is Sheriff Alexandra Littlefoot. Now, if he can keep his hands off her, everything will be fine.A bad shooting and the loss of a partner caused Alex to leave San … San Antonio. She sees being sheriff of the small town as penance for her sins. Working with Jake isn’t exactly what she would call ideal, but he insists on helping with the investigation. Close working conditions make it impossible to ignore their attraction, and one kiss leads to more than either of them expected.
After one night together, he knows this is no casual encounter, and walking away is impossible. He knows she’s his mate, and while she isn’t a wolf, he knows she has some connection to the pack.
As secrets rise to the surface, the killer’s violence escalates and threatens to destroy not only their fragile new love, but the entire Lonestar Pack.

Fast pace, steamy, romantic suspense. Interesting world building, with what Alex is. Hoping Caleb, Morgan and Dillon will get stories.

This is the start of a new series and is the first book I have read by this author. It’s a great plot and lays out the groundwork for the new series very well along with having a murder mystery and romance included, this makes for one fast-paced story. The plot has some twists and turns that held my interest and also added some suspense to the story. The main characters have great chemistry and some steamy scenes. It’s a delightful easy book to read. I’m looking forward to reading more by this author and in particularly in this series.

This is one roller coaster ride of emotions. The characters are well developed and engaging and the storyline flowed smoothly with enough twist and turns to keep me committed to turning page after page. I love well written PNR books and this one hit the spot. If this what the series going to bring I will be going to get the rest that will follow.

ONE FLAMING TREAT!!!
Crap! Man, talk about kicking it up a few levels on the blazing charts. This is one tough cookie, I think I found my idol. You’re totally awestruck with the badass heroine as she races against time. A rollercoaster of unexpected circumstances and mishaps propel all of your emotions bursting to life beautifully. An intense storyline and gripping plot holds you tightly on a razors edge and total focus riveted on this page turning bombshell. The characters chemistry is whirling hot, spinning tightly, luring you into the churning vortex until you feel the impact. The way Melissa has the scenes playing out with such realism it gives the illusion your along for the ride. The characters are intriguing, authentic and realistic with such depth and qualities its easy to relate. The scenes are written with such realism its easy to picture each scenario as they play off one another in perfect balance. Fantastic job Melissa, thanks for sharing this little gem with us.
I really enjoyed this story! It was well written with great characters. It pulled me in from beginning to end. Alex has taken over as Sheriff in the small town and Jacob is the Mayor. He is also the Alpha of the wolf pack but Alex doesn’t know that shape shifters are real, or her connection. I really enjoyed the way that this story developed. We get to know Jacob and Alex as they are getting closer as well as the story of the murdered girls. There was plenty of action/intrigue as well as funny moments between the characters. I loved the banter that happened between them, and not just the 2 main characters. I’m excited to see more in this series and get some of the secondary characters’ stories. This was just a fun and entertaining read. It’s not too long and so was a fairly quick read for me but it didn’t feel too short either.

Jacob is the Mayor and Alpha of the Lonestar Wolf Pack. Alexandra is the new sheriff in town, coming from a big city police department, shamed after her partner is killed. She was an orphan and it turns out more to her than meets the eye. There’s murder to solve and an intense attraction to manage, and a mating to complete, even if she isn’t a werewolf.
I have to say I have a lot of mixed feelings about this story. This series has a lot of potential, I liked the couple and the other characters, Melissa leaves a good foundation for future books in the series but it also comes across as incomplete. There’s a jumpiness to some of the scenes, making me wonder if too much editing happened or was it missing from the beginning. I was also surprised by some of the editing issues considering this is a re-release of ‘The Alpha’s Saving Grace’ published in 2016.

I liked this book but I felt it was lacking. There wasn’t as much action as I hoped there would be. I didn’t feel like we got enough from the characters or the full story.
Jacob Sanderson is Alpha of his Pack and mayor of Sanderson, Texas, and he feels a strong connection to Alexandra Littlefoot, the new sheriff of his small, peaceful town. But there’s something sinister happening to young girls who have ties to the Pack. As Jake and Alex work together to discover who’s behind these horrific crimes, it becomes obvious that Alex’s connection is not only important to Jake but also the Pack.
This is an exciting and intriguing tale, filled with drama, suspense and hot, steamy passion. The characters are well-drawn, and the storyline is extremely engaging. It’s an attention grabber from start to finish. You’ll find it an intriguing, easy read that’s hard to put down. I highly recommend this wonderful series starter and can’t wait to see what’s coming next!!
Alex is the new chief of police in Sanderson. Jake is mayor, and asks her to investigate three murders. They are fated mates and fall in love. Good book, well written.
