There are many rules a priest can’t break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God.I’ve always been good at following rules.Until she came. Then I learned new rules.
My name is Tyler Anselm Bell. I’m twenty-nine years old. Six months ago, I broke my vow of celibacy on the altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.
I am … altar of my own church, and God help me, I would do it again.
I am a priest and this is my confession.
Priest is a full-length standalone with an HEA. For Mature Audiences Only
Interesting
I just finished reading this book, and I loved it! “Priest” was the first book I’ve read by this author.
Amazingly respectful to the religious beliefs considering the storyline and material. Actually incites some internal psychological debates as in addition to the expected steamy excitement.
WOW!! That’s all that keeps going through my mess of a mind.
I’m still processing but this was an AMAZING love story. I smiled, I fanned myself at the so so hot passion, I cried & then I sighed in awe.
Fabulous story that pulled me in & kept me rapt until the end.
I would definitely recommend this & have already purchased and will be reading the next two books.
I can totally see why some people might not have cared for this book – it was extremely taboo, touched on a lot of things that might make people uncomfortable. I for one, am not one of those people. Halfway through the book, I was wondering why I hadn’t read this book sooner. It was such a wonderful love story, between a man and a woman. At some point I stopped thinking of Father Bell as a priest, and just thought of him as Tyler. Meeting Poppy that day in the church changed the course of his life, made him rethink all the things that had led him to that point. God had led him to be a priest, but he also led Poppy to him for a reason. Did some of the things they do shock me? Yes….of course, but if one believes that God is forgiving, Tyler knew that he would be forgiven for his sins. The love he felt for Poppy was something that only comes around once in a lifetime, and that day he sat in the church listening for words from God…..Tyler got the affirmation he needed from God to know that he could go forth in life with Poppy and serve the Lord, just not in the way he had always imagined.
Excellent read!!
A sexy kinky priest?
This book is sinful. A delight to read if you’re into steamy forbidden romances.
I couldn’t put this down. I loved how it was all told in a male’s point of view.
As this was the first book I’ve ever read from Sierra Simone, I can tell you that it definitely won’t be my last.
Great writing!
I quit listening the audio book after chapter 14. The only think I liked was the narration. I did try to finish but I got tired of the priest wrestling with the guilt. He wants to have sex but it’s not right; he has sex anyway and hates himself afterwards and he with not let it happen again. Well it happens again, and again, and again. I give it 3 stars, in fairness, because I didn’t finish the book and the priest did know how to take care of business. Maybe I will finish reading it one day.
Forbidden love, a hot priest, how can anyone resist the temptation to sin? I absolutely loved this story; Sierra Simone’s writing is amazing, her characters are awesome. The chemistry between Father Tyler Bell and Poppy was so so hot!! Can’t wait to read the sequel, Midnight Mass!
Tyler Bell is not your typical priest, when he meets the woman that changes his life forever
First and foremost Sean Bell has got to be hands down of the filthiest hero’s I’ve read in a long time! I loved how he was so unapologetic for his actions and his ends justified his means. This was a very refreshing character to read and he’s definitely made my book boyfriend list!
Zenny is the little sister of Sean’s best friend but he hasn’t seen her in 14 years. They reconnect one night a function but it’s cut short. A few days later they are reacquainted and that’s where the fun begins!
Sean and Zenny are complete opposites. He’s white. She’s black. He’s 36. She’s 21. He’s a sinner who doesn’t believe in God or church. She’s in the process of becoming a Nun. I wasn’t sure how this was going to work but I was so engrossed with this couple. Even though they are at different points of their lives they learned a lot from each other and made some changes for the better. That’s my favorite thing ever when it comes to book couples. I love to see them grow. Can we just talk about the sexy times real quick?? Lord. Have. Mercy. That’s all I can say!!
This is the first book that I’ve read by Sierra Simone even though I have several of her books waiting on my kindle. This was a well written story that flowed and kept my attention. I also applaud the author for the diversity. I know some people may stay away because of the religion aspect but this book touched on certain aspects without coming over as a sermon and I loved the meaning. We had some tender moments and as a person of faith I felt the same way Sean did at times. I will definitely being going to read “Priest” that has been sitting on my kindle as soon as possible!
“No communion wine, no salvation had ever tasted sweeter than this, and one taste would not be enough.”
Being raised Catholic I was intrigued by this book for a couple of reasons; one being the taboo subject of a priest breaking their vows and that I have never met a priest having looks that would even begin to point my mind in that direction. My computer almost blew up as I frantically searched for “hot priests”, but man oh man, did some “interesting” stuff come up.
I was not too crazy about Poppy. I mean he is a priest. I am all for a good taboo, but dang girl…go to another church if you want to be one with the big JC. She was just not a character that I was rooting for, felt bad for or could even connect with, but dang Father Bell made up for all of that.
Father Tyler Bell. I loved this character. His inner dialogue was fantastic. The author did an amazing job of making you feel his internal struggle. A struggle he had not had to deal with until now, until he met Poppy. You could feel his devotion to his job, his church, the parishioners and his love of God. You could feel his primal needs bubbling to the surface, until he snaps and loses all judgement. The woman that came to him to make a confession will cause Father Bell to betray all he has worked for in life and his job resulting in his need to do some confessing himself.
“One and a half inches of damnation, and all I could think about was sinking deeper into hell.”
Even with the religious tone, there is plenty of sassy “clutch the pearls” worthy scenes. I will never look at a church altar the same way again. Sin never tasted so good!
I was so worried I would not like this book because of the Taboo and religious content. I was sooooo wrong! Super hot and loved every minute of it!
Hard to get into
Hot and steamy
Priest is one of those books you hear great things about, so you add it to your TBR or one click to read later…then when you finally read it you’re kicking yourself the whole time for waiting so long. No? Just me? Well, damn. I don’t know WHY I didn’t read this sooner. This was one of the HOTTEST books I’ve ever read. It’s erotic moment amplified by the “forbidden/taboo” aspect yet it was written so well and so tasteful.
I can say for sure that I will never look at a church altar or pew the same again. Priest is the first “taboo” of this kind that I’ve read and having come from a Catholic background, I wasn’t sure how this story would unfold and what I would feel about it, but Sierra Simone did such an incredible job of portraying a much heated attraction between Tyler and Poppy as well as conveying Tyler’s struggle with faith and dedication to his vocation. Was his calling to be a priest or was his calling to put him in that place and time to meet Poppy? Which was God’s will? Both?
This is definitely going on my Best of 2018 list!
Little racy for it to be about a Priest…explicit language. Think author was trying to keep up with “Fifty Shades.”
I’d never before read a book quite like this one. Very naughty and I couldn’t put it down!
If there were more priest like Father Bell, I would have never left the church. This book was one hot novel. I listened to the audio version and was glad I did. The narration was fantastic.
