Volume 2 in the ponyplay erotic romance trilogy: The Copper Horse
London
1907, twenty years into the zombie Plague
After being kidnapped into slavery by a powerful crime family member – Erik Dal, Reuben is slowly adjusting to his new life. He is now Copper, Erik’s proud stallion, serving in any way his master might require – from pulling a cart, to pleasures in the bedroom. But his journey has … in the bedroom. But his journey has only begun, and as he becomes increasingly attached to Erik, his devotion will be evaluated. From getting bred by another owner’s human stallion to Erik marking him forever, each of Reuben’s decisions makes him more of a pet and less of a human.
Becoming Erik’s horse isn’t just about getting pampered, wearing hooves and tack, or providing the master with pleasure. It becomes a violent game of prize and punishment, but when Reuben understands he too has leverage – Erik’s attachment to him – he becomes an active player in the negotiations of his stay at the mansion. But with his master’s grand annual birthday party approaching, his loyalty will be tested like never before, and the tasks he is to perform might prove too much.

Pussnbooks.net Reviewing the darkest erotic books we can find.
I’ve just finished this book and have to say I enjoyed this one just as much as I did the first one. Maybe even more.
All of the characters are back and we get to learn more about them. We even get a glimpse into what happened with Chestnut from Erik’s POV right at the beginning which I loved.
Sadly that’s the only thing we see from Eriks POV though, and to be honest I felt sorry for him here. I mean I know that he’s been a proper prick at times but when someone betrays you and breaks your heart like that, it’s awful.
Anyway, there was quite a bit going on in this book. More info on the upcoming revolution, more of Erik’s friends to meet and lots more “pets” to wrap your head around! I loved it.
REUBEN – Reuben has come such a long way and is slowly starting to come to terms with his sexuality. He’s starting to fall head over hooves for Erik and I have a feeling it’s reciprocated.
He never wants to leave Erik’s house and is hoping to temp Erik into keeping him forever.
He’s such a gentle wee soul, pretty innocent really with a lot of love to give. You can’t help but love him.
Unfortunately, his happiness comes to an abrupt end when he’s out pulling Erik in a cart one day and meets up with Jacob (the friend that sold him to the bad guys in Bylondon). Reuben panics and freaks out a little. Erik punishes him by removing his mask in public and lets strangers mock him.
As per usual, whenever Erik thinks Reuben being naughty, I was screaming at him to just let him explain. Sadly, Erik didn’t listen to me *sigh*, they never do.
Anyway, Reuben has changed both physically and mentally. He’s grown into quite the man/pony and I love to see him flourish.
We get to see him interact with more pets like himself, and there is one particularly sexy breeding session that is sticking out in my mind right now. (Yummy Coal!)
ERIK – We get to see a little more of Erik’s friends and family in book two. OMG, what an amazing bunch of characters. I enjoyed reading about every one of them.
His brother makes a couple of appearances (he’s a boob) and during his birthday party, we get a look at what life is really like for him. The man knows how to throw a party y’all!
He’s still very quick to react though and punish needlessly in this book but we also learn that he is indeed a man of his word and is not too proud to apologise when he realises he is wrong.
I love that I can see a softer and kinder side to Erik. He goes out of his way a couple of times to do something very meaningful for Reuben and that makes me think that he really does care for him.
I also believe that even though Reuben tries to hide it, Erik knows exactly how much he enjoys the things that they do together.
SEX SCENES – A lot of the sex was between Reuben and other pets. I found it all fascinating and very hot. I’m not gonna lie, I’m learning a lot from this author.
FINAL THOUGHTS – I really enjoyed this book. In particular the stories of the other characters like Jack and John. I love how Reuben is evolving in his sexuality and how his confidence is growing.
There were a couple of really dark moments as well and they just pulled at my heart. It was so well written.
At the end though? Holy crap, I’m desperate to start the next in the series. What a way to end it, lol.!

Continuing in the timeline and set in 1907 London, Reuben/Copper is continuing to acclimate to his new home with his master, Erik Dal of Bluefinger. Originating from meager means, Reuben wasn’t properly schooled in books or etiquette, but he has an intense need to please and do a proper job. In this installment, Reuben experiences a transformation in how he views his role as a pony and companion to Erik. In his attempt to make strides, Reuben tries to earn his master’s affection and wants to be his one and only pony.
As pony and master, Copper and Erik are quite charming together at times. When Erik spoils Copper or treats him with dignity, Copper feels enormous pride. However, Copper still has some sticking points about his situation that earns him severe punishment. Yet, when they roleplay, the kink is intensely hot and oh so perfectly dirty! The breeding scene was off the charts and what a perfect birthday party.
What I loved about this story is the forged connection between Reuben and Erik. Reuben truly has a heart of gold and is at the mercy of the enigmatic and mercurial Erik. I also like how Erik is unabashedly open about his kinky predilections. In addition to the pony play, a broader story arc affecting Bylondon is developing and I’m curious to see how it ends.
Pride is a kinky story about acceptance of oneself. This book would appeal to kink-seekers and those that enjoy elements of steampunk. I look forward to reading the final book in the series.
