I love the Bratva Alpha Men. Nicolai is an over the top bodyguard with hidden feelings for Marissa.
He discovers a plot against Marissa and takes matters into his own hands.
What follows is so many twists and turns and deadly and volatile scenes.
There was action, dominance, and of course love wrapped up in a fabulous story!
Two people that are not meant to be together are forced to weather a storm of epic proportion. Marissa is graduating and turning 18. She is left in the dark of the mafia world and very happy with that. But when her bodyguard kidnaps her to save her things come to a head for everyone involved.
Nicolai has been Marissa’s bodyguard for four years and has been in love with her for almost just as long. But he knows nothing can come of it. She is only a child. But when he finds out that someone is going to be kidnapping her to auction her off, Nicolai will do everything he can to protect her, including capturing her himself. But things don’t always go as planned.
Priceless is not a typical mafia story. It broke my heart reading this story with all the twists and turns. Marissa and Nicolai are a beautiful couple, and I loved them. I am interested to see where else we go with the characters we met.
Nicolai has been Marissa’s bodyguard since she was twelve years old. Now she is turning eighteen and her father has done something awful to betray her. After receiving a call that will change both their lives forever, Nicolai goes on the run with Marissa. Marissa is kidnapped but Nicolai will do anything to save this woman he is coming to love. Will he be able to get to her in time? Will they be together despite the age gap or will they be torn apart? A story that truly has it all.
I received a copy of this book and am leaving a review.
I love this author’s writing and who doesn’t love a good Bratva story?! This is an intense, suspenseful and a captivating story about a young woman being trained on how to obey and submit. Nicolai has been Marissa’s bodyguard since she was a teenager and now she is graduating high school Nicolai has to keep a tight reign on his salacious thoughts pertaining to Marissa. The chemistry between the two is off the charts but still Nicolai holds back until he is forced to act. She is wretched from his protection, will he be able to save her in time? Will she be able to submit to Nicolai when the time is right? I can’t wait to see what this author has in store for us next!!
Nicolai Morozov takes his job seriously. How he responds can affect someone’s life or death. It’s not long before his alpha/dom comes out – he’s very intense. Marissa Rykov starts her first day as an adult with a mystery. But then her light seems to dim a little and she seems a little timid. She needs the right person to make her light shine again.
On one hand I’m glad that the story is split into two parts because it makes my decision easier as to where I want to stop – you would think so anyway. Having the two parts helps so as not to make the story seem too long. If the author filled in all the gaps than you might not like the length. What she’s done here makes it just right.
There’s plenty of emotion here. There’s anger, frustration, sadness and hope. Maybe there’s light at the end of the tunnel. Nicolai is her protector and her savior. Marissa might just be his savior too. There’s heat here as well and some of it seems more a tease for the reader. If you’re a fan of the Bratva romance than you should check out Ms. Henry’s work if you haven’t already. The only thing I can’t tell you is whether there’s a follow up for the book but she has other series that will give you your Mafia/Bratva fix.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I loved this steamy and exciting read. Nicolai and Marissa’s romance quickly pulled me in and kept me perched on the edge of my seat with plenty of twists. The chemistry was electric and the emotions raw and powrful in this story of forbidden love. Nicolai was intense, determined and devoted. In other words, he was exceptionally swoon worthy. Marissawas strong and spunky. I found it super easy to become invested in this couple and was rooting for their love to suvive all the drama, tension, danger, lies, betrayals and secrets that threaten it.
Priceless (Ruthless Doms #1) was a great read by Jane Henry. Nicola is Marissa’s bodyguard. He knows she’s barely legal and definitely off limits. But he still feels as though she is his. They have an intense attraction that is hard to fight. There are forces that will do anything to keep them apart. I enjoyed reading this book and cant wait to read more by the author.

STORY:
So so. I don’t doubt it could be good for most, but for me, I could not get into it. The way it started had me excited, but my excitement started dwindling. It jumps forward with months so I disconnected with the timeline. The cover dragged me in with promises of really dark, but I didn’t really get dark or at least what I consider dark as everyone is different, it was more on the mild side. Individually, I like Nicolai as his whole bravado was appealing. Marissa, was ok her age sometimes showed as she started out at 17 with a birthday to 18. I think for me it’s both characters together that gave me a so so read not sure I just did not connect to the story.
SEXUAL CHEMISTRY:
Sexually, I was turned on, but good sex in a book doesn’t guarantee I will love the story.
SECONDARY CHARACTERS:
A lot of players that brought the story together, however, I lost interest.
OVERALL
So so and I did not get fully into the storyline as I wanted to because the characters together were not connecting for me.
TRIGGERS: kidnapping, selling of women etc…
****I don’t equate these stories to real life. It’s about personal taste and what you would or want to tolerate with the books you read. I know we all have different opinions and preferences with what we read. I based my book reviews on my preferences and what I like, and while these preferences may not be the same for others, I hope this review was still helpful.
So much pain and heart break. Nikolai was steadfast in his resolve to protect and keep Marisa safe. Betrayed by her father she is taken in the run to avoid the unknown (not knowing he has sold her to auction). Ambushed and taken from Nikolai she spend 3 months through training and torture to prepare for virgin auctions. Nikolai came back from death changed his identity and appearance to infiltrate auctions to find his girl. So much craziness. To finally be together. Loved how fierce he is in his protection of her and his affection of her.
Priceless by Jane Henry is a Dark Bratva Romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross. This is the first book in the Ruthless Doms series.
This book does come with a caution “this dark romance contains mild dubious consent, elements of violence, and kinky, sexual scenes. If such subject matters offend you, please do not listen. “
I absolutely love Jane’s books! I loved the taboo forbidden romance between Marissa (18 years old) and her body guard Nicolai (31 years old). I was pulled in from the very first chapter and couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next.
I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series Beyond Measure so I can get Tomas and Caroline’s story.
Kai and Wen did an amazing job on the narration. They both really know how to bring a story to life. I look forward to listening to more of their work in the future.
I would highly recommend this book if you like dark romances, Bratva or mafia romances, forbidden romances, or romantic suspense.

It was an interesting way this story run – A very good tension arc through the whole story, wonderfully written and well developed characters result in a captivating reading time.
A Violently Intriguing and Worthy Read… “Priceless” by author Jane Henry had been popping up in my Instagram and Goodreads profiles for a while and at first glance, I was honestly skeptical. In all the dark romance books I’ve read over the years, amazingly I had never read a Bratva book. I’ve seen them, read the descriptions, had plenty of them pop up in my various recommendation notices, but never went beyond that. Somehow it seemed almost sacrilegious to me to tread on such territory. I’ve read other mafia romances and felt similar, mainly because the idea of delving into something so deliciously dark and dangerous is tantalizing and the thought of it ending up being cheesy or not truly befitting of the focus troublesome. It is the Russian mafia after all, and well, I want it to be worthy of the realities of what a story such as this is based on. However after some deep-dive Googling about the subject matter, and the promise of what the world of Bratva was really all about, I finally pushed beyond my skepticism and took a chance. And my leap into the literary unknown was rewarded as “Priceless” is definitely worth the read.
Split between the Atlanta and Boston Brotherhoods, this is the story of Marissa, the barely eighteen daughter of a Bratva leader, and Nicolai, son of the Atlanta Pakhan, and loyal Bratva brother and bodyguard to Marissa. It is a winding, exhilarating story of betrayal that has you watching helplessly as Marissa gets sold into the sexual slave markets by her own father to satisfy a debt. A tale of survival, emotional strength, ceaseless loyalty, and fierce determination, you will read breathlessly while Nicolai gives up everything he is and has to rescue Marissa from what her Father set into motion.
It is a violently uncomfortable, realistic rendering of part of this world. And while there are portions of this book that will give you pause, especially during Marissa’s three month conditioning and its aftermath on her mind and soul. You will come to quickly see they are necessary for scenarios at hand. Nicolai has no choice but to embrace his role of “master” within the blurred lines before him if he is to save the woman he loves. Marissa has no choice but to comply with the role of “slave” she is thrust into, despite its damage to her psyche. And together they must fight for themselves body and soul as the lines blur further as they battle against all of the outside forces hell bent on doing them both harm. All while also battling against the very real risk of losing themselves to the parts they must play to ultimately survive.
It is a spine tingling and worthy read. And surprisingly what held my attention and garnered my admiration the most about this book was the attention paid by Henry to code by which Nicolai, his father, and even the Boston Pakhan adheres. I am an unbending loyal person, something that is often as painful as it is rewarding. However, the very thought of the level of loyalty demonstrated within this story. The family protection and unyielding care they have for each other is almost admirable. It’s something I have only every dreamed of, a code of ethics, while violent and unyielding, that is pure and steadfast. It is a concept sorely lacking in American culture nowadays; a familial bond so unpolluted it transcends understanding and allows a level of trust and individual submission within the group beyond what should be possible. It is a fanciful concept that left me falling in longing for something sadly not attainable in our modern American world.
A wonderful and worthy read, I am now a Bratva fan for sure.
Marissa was Nikolai’s responsibility to protect her. When she turned 18, He took her away for her safety and now she’s kidnapped under his watch. But who in the Bratva wanted to sell her into slavery? It’s a dangerous mission for him. Marissa has been his everything, wanting , lusting after her. Now it’s time for him to save her from being sold and make her his own. This story is action packed, with danger, mystery, betrayal , trust, steamy and sex.
Kai Kenneticutt and Wen Ross narrations were right on. Having all the emotions, and accents for each character flawlessly.

Priceless: Ruthless Doms
A Dark Bratva Romance
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
Jane Henry does it again, she delivers another impressive Bratva romance novel. I enjoy her writing style and the way she grabs your attention and captivates your mind from start to end. She brings you into the dark world of the Bratva, the Russian mafia, a brotherhood who live by their own rules. There is an intense camaraderie between them and a code of honor. “Priceless” is Nicolai and Marissa’s story, Nicolai is Marissa’s body, the daughter of ranking Bratva boss he has protected her for years, he gets info that her father sold her for a owed debt and Nicolai vows to keep her safe and takes her away. They are hunted and she is captured and he is left for dead. He comes back from the dead and sets out on a mission to get her back. I loved how far he goes to get her back, loved how well plotted the story was, it is action packed with plenty of drama, angst, twists, intense & suspenseful moments and some devoted love with some D/s situation with mild kink. I loved the climatic ending and how every played out. Thank you Jane Henry for another fantastic story and ride on an emotional rollercoaster ride.
I listened to the Audible edition, Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross are fantastic narrators and voice artists. They bring these characters to live, give them their own voices and personality, as well as heart and attitude. They do a great job with accents too, Wen’s Russian is one of my favorites, but this book brings out even more, all well done. You can hear how much heart they put into their work as they project the emotions of the characters and the drama of the story into their performance. These entertaining storytellers are always a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fantastic listen
Priceless: Ruthless Doms
A Dark Bratva Romance
By: Jane Henry
Narrated by: Kai Kennicott, Wen Ross
A better title could not have been chosen for this book. Not only does it fit in with the story, but it’s truly Priceless. This spinoff of the Wicked Dom’s series starts off with a bang. It feature Nikolai, bodyguard to Marisa. He has been with her since she is 13 and being older, has never acted on his feelings. Now that a kidnapping is threatened, he takes matters into his own hands to protect the now 18 year old girl. When she does get taken, he proves that love knows no boundaries. Marisa may be young, but growing up Bratva has given her a perspective most her age don’t have. Now these two are faced with danger, and what comes out isn’t pretty. Jane Henry continues to be one of my favorite romantic suspense writers. This book from the very start promises to be on the dark side, full of danger and intrigue, unexpected twists and turns and igniting a romance to fall in love with. She is provocative and original and keeps me coming back for more.
Her choice of Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott is perfect for these Bratva series books. Ross continues to have an amazing Russian accent, able to give each character his own spin on a voice. I love that he adds sighs, yawns or laughs in the story, making it more realistic. Kennicott gives the young Marissa a youthful sound, yet add a hint of wisdom in her. I love this team and can’t wait for the next one!
