Ivan Everley, 13th Baron Rothvale, would admit he’s the last person on earth who should have custody over a priceless collection of art. British law affords him the title of ‘Lord,’ but underneath all the trappings he’s just a regular guy, despite being a world champion in archery, and certain…proclivities of a private nature. But Ivan’s public celebrity is merely a sham—a carefully guarded … guarded secret borne out of the pain of betrayal. Even his cousin Ethan Blackstone doesn’t know the truth behind the man he considers a brother.
Lord Rothvale has a plethora of problems piled up to his aristocratic eyeballs, but that doesn’t stop him from complicating his world further when a beautiful art conservationist shows up to appraise his inherited collection of paintings. Once Ivan gets a taste of Gabrielle Hargreave, mistaken identity or not, he can’t think of anything but how good the green-eyed beauty felt in his arms.
The chase is on, and Ivan’s dominant side isn’t taking ‘no’ for an answer—but yet, Gabrielle might just teach our discontented lord a thing or two about life, and about himself, and help them both discover the undeniable truth in what it means to find something genuinely… priceless.

The Blackstone series by Raine Miller is one of my most favourite series so I was elated to find out there was a spin off series featuring Ivan and Gabrielle and I can honestly say I haven’t been left disappointed by Priceless. Ivan and Gaby are both damaged people. First of all Ivan mistakes her for an escort. An impression Gaby’s behaviour at that time only reinforces. After that single encounter he’s obsessed with her and just as he’s given up all hope of finding her again she turns up at his estate in Ireland little suspecting that the owner of the paintings she’s come to assess and the man she had an erotic encounter with at an art gallery is one and the same.
The chemistry between these two characters almost sets the page on fire. Ivan may be a lord but he’s definitely not a gentleman between the sheets especially with that dirty mouth but for all they have a dom/sub relationship they are evenly balanced in other ways and I feel that Gaby might turn out to be the strong one in the relationship despite neither of them seeming to believe they deserve to be happy. I think there is still a lot to find out about these characters and what made them the damaged people they are. Why does Ivan only have meaningless encounters with escorts? What shameful secrets drove Gaby from her home in the US? Hopefully these questions will be answered in the next book.
Absolutely fabulous read! Raine has written a story that had me captivated from that first encounter with our lead lady Gabby.
Ivan’s character is swoon worthy, I’m not sure if it’s the accent ( yes I’m picturing it in my head) or his arrogance. He may seem laid back but I guarantee there’s more to this man. Like puzzle I’m trying to put it all together. His initial meeting with Gabby is one for the records, the case of mistaken identity leads to one of the most erotic encounters of his life. When she flees he’s on a mission to get her back.
Gabby is also one for secrets, I’m dying to know what hurt she’s hiding. Her encounter with Ivan left her embarrassed and ashamed. What the hell did she just do?
When these two meet again it’s explosive. Ivan under the wrong assumptions puts his foot in it. Gabby is hurt and runs. That seems to be her MO, running.
But fate has a way of making sure the people that are on your path are put back there. These two will rock your world.
It’s a huge YES from me.
Ivan Everly (Lord Rothvale) is our hot, alpha Baron dissatisfied with his semi-aristocratic fame and all the disloyalty that comes with trying to find a suitable girlfriend. He is filthy wealthy and is sick of women only wanting his money, title, or a chance at a slice of his infamy. He sets up his dates thru an escort service. Which by a happenstance of mistaken identity, he ends up in a closet with our darling Gaby at the Mallerton gala in London. A couple of fireworks between the two then a bomb threat interruption splits them up into opposite directions – without exchanging REAL names. (This is a scene that coincides with the Blackstone Affair book “All In” where Ethan and Brynne run into their own exploding issues – another must read Miller series.) So enthralled with his mystery date – Ivan begins the search to find her with no luck.
Gabrielle is an Art student in London – uniquely specializing in painting restoration and artist authentication. Ivan needs a specialist to catalog all the old paintings laying around his estate. He arranges for a random art student (he assumes a male) to come to his Donadea estate in Ireland to do the work. Gaby shows up, they recognize each other, and he is a complete dick to her. Thank God for Finnegan (my fave English Butler). Gaby escapes back to London in tears and a fever.
The rest of the book is Ivan chasing Gaby around the Blackstone Wedding and eventually into his bed – and there are some sweet sexy times along the way, but you need to read them for yourself! They both have trust issues from the past that I am assuming will rear their ugly heads in the next installment.
I just had to re-read Priceless in anticipation of Raine Miller’s upcoming sequel in the duet – My Lord. Oh, am I glad that I did! RM is a fabulous storyteller and when Priceless was published (yes, 6 years ago) I gobbled it up in all its Blackstone Affair goodness! This is an absolute must-read and one of my all-time favorite stories from Raine. I was distraught that we have had to wait so long for the next installment – but we are almost there – My Lord drops next week!
Extra tid-bit: Raine’s Rothvale historical series also ties into this story. The Muse is the story of Graham and Imogene Everly – Ivan’s ancestral title bearer. That romance revolves around several of the paintings mentioned in Priceless. In fact, the Epilogue of The Muse is all about the auction of the T. Mallerton paintings in present day – with mini “Easter Egg” descriptions of the models of the paintings. Ties everything together in a nice little bow – once we get our hands on “My Lord”!
Ivan and Gabrielle’s story is enthralling and captivating. Ivan is a dominating, arrogant entitled aristocrat and during their first encounter everything goes wrong. Ivan has to search around to find the woman who captivated him that night. Gabrielle has a Master’s degree from the University of London and his intellectual match. They both met their soulmate and this story will take you on this beautiful journey of discovery. Raine Miller spins this magnificent sensually charged story which will leave you breathless and restless for the rest .
You can feel the heat emanating off the pages in this scorching book. Mistaken identity has never been so hot.
Ivan (Lord Rothvale) is attending another fundraiser. He shows up late and mills about while waiting for his escort to show up.
Gabrielle is an art student helping at the fundraiser; showing/talking about priceless art and the restoration process.
Their attraction is instantaneous but a fire alarm cuts off their dalliance.
Eventually their paths cross again and this time there is no escape. So what happens? You’ll need to one click to find out.
I am ready to sink my teeth into book two.
Move over Ethan Blackstone I need to make room for Ivan Everley the new man in my life and heart. You have to love a broody bad boy who doesn’t have time for romance or love until he meets the one and in this case, the one would be Gabrielle Hargreave. These two meet under unusual circumstances and it’s lust at first sight. A case of mistaken identity leads Ivan and Gabrielle on a rollercoaster of a ride. Watching these two hide their attraction behind their distaste for each other is more than entertaining. It’s romance as it should be. You can’t help but fall for this couple and want to know what the future holds for them. It has the sizzle factor so be ready for some serious snogging. You could say that Gabrielle is a saucy little minx and Ivan has definitely met his match. Cannot wait for the conclusion of this duet.
Priceless (Rothvale Legacy, #1) by Raine Miller is book 1 in the duet. It is interconnected with the Blackstone Affair series but can be read separately.
Gabrielle is an art student who studies art and Ivan is a former Olympian hiding from the media. When they meet Ivan mistakes Gabrielle for Maria (his hired escort), and Gabrielle mistakes Ivan for “Mr.Ivanhoe” the guest she is supposed to show around. They immediately have an instant attraction, luck for Gabrielle she is able to make her escape before things escalate. Ivan needs a someone to take the painting he inherited off his hand, Gabrielle is given the job. Ivan treats her so poorly she leaves, as fate has it they run into each other again. Gabrielle and Ivan are both hiding secrets, can those secrets destroy them or bring them together?
The book is told in dual point of views and moved fast from the moment they first meet. Gabrielle is running from her past which is made know from the beginning and Ivan is also running from his past those who won’t leave him alone. The author wrote the story well, the chemistry flowed easily from the characters. This is a mix between enemies to love and forbidden romance. I love a good forbidden enemies to lovers and the author wrote it well without it being the main focus. I have read the Blackstone Affair series and love how the book is truly about building the romance and this book reminded me off that in the best way with great steamy and sexual attraction scenes.
After that ending, I need to know more and will what are they hiding!!!
This spin off from the Blackstone Affair is devine. Once again Raine Miller will make your toes curl and set those butterflies off in your stomach. Beautiful writing, strong characters and an exceptional storyline makes this first book in the Rothvale Legacy a tantalising read.
Art student Gabrielle Hargreave quits her new job when she realises her new boss Ivan Everyley is the devastatingly handsome stranger who seduced her at an art gala. Gabrielle flies back home and thinks she’ll never have to see Ivan again. Too bad Ivan’s the best man at Gabrielle’s best friend’s wedding. Ivan’s smile is devastating to Gabrielle’s resolve and she knows she’s in very deep trouble with this man.
Drama-filled, angsty and steamy! I can’t wait to read My Lord, Book 2 of The Rothvale Legacy series.
Ever since Ethan Blackstone, I have been enthralled by this author’s stories. I especially love her period romances, but billionaires in love are my weakness.
This lord Rothvale is one wicked lord. His brutish ways in the first half of the book make for a very exhilarating read, for sure. He might come off as a dominant with a short fuse, but his bad experiences in the past lead to an exciting misunderstanding with lovely and spirited Gabrielle.
I confess I loved that hot first encounter in the midst of the National Gallery, followed by a string of hot-headed dialogues in scenes where chemistry sparks and their future seems doomed. I really liked the scenario of a rich lord who needs his works works of art appraised and the young woman being the expert in his domain. Naturally, lots of ardent desire and naughty bedtime get in the middle of that mission. Yay.
It is fun and entertaining, even though at first Ivan is a rascal, he manages to redeem himself and fall at her feet. I love a besotted man who pleasures his woman in all kinds of ways! I also loved the scenes with Brynne and Ethan.
Luxurious and sensual, with a couple who hides disappointments and hurt in their past. I am curious about those. It ends on a suggestive tone that makes bold promises for the second book.
I have been dying to read about Ivan and Gabrielle since the Blackstone series and wow.
When Ivan meets Gabby in a case of mistaken identity they are off to pretty intense start. When they meet again Ivan is not too happy and lets Gabby know exactly how much. While she runs for the hills never to have contact with him again Ivan is now obsessed with finding her.
The plot is fantastic and I devoured this, Raine has delivered a fabulous book and cant wait to see where the story takes us.
Priceless is part one of a duet and the first installment in The Rothvale Legacy series. It can only be adequately described as something of the marvelous. Raine Miller knows how to write an intriguing and captivating story that grabs your attention from page one and pulls you in until you can’t do anything else but lose yourself within the pages for a few hours. I’ve devoured this beautiful, sensual and steamy romance like my favorite kind of treat. It was fast-paced and masterfully crafted. From the poignant writing and great dialogue to the breath-taking scenery and charming, multi-layered characters this book had everything I’m looking for as an avid reader.
Raine is indeed an exceptionally talented and eloquent storyteller and that’s why she’s one of my unicorns and an auto-buy for me since I’ve read her fantastic Blackstone Affaire books. I’ve desperately wanted to read Ivan and Gabrielle’s story from the moment we’ve been introduced to them as Ethan’s aristocratic cousin and Brynne’s bestie. I saw a great potential couple coming and was eagerly waiting to find out more about them.
Lord Ivan Everley, the 13th Baron Rothvale, has inherited a priceless collection of paintings. The irony of it is that he doesn’t know anything about art. His interests lie elsewhere – archery, women and dominating kink in the bedroom. The former Olympian is a recurring guest in tabloids, much to his annoyance and displeasure. To him, carrying a title of nobility in the 21st century feels like a heavy and inescapable responsibility. His life is complicated but it gets completely turned upside down when a beautiful American art student and conservationist shows up at his Northern Ireland residence, Donadea, to appraise and catalog his collection. Once Ivan gets a taste of the lovely Miss Gabrielle Hargreave he won’t be able to stop thinking about the exquisite beauty. And when the dominant Lord Rothvale wants something he goes after it and doesn’t take ‘no’ for an answer.
What I especially liked about part one of Ivan and Gaby’s story was the unconventional and unique way they first met and that they were complex and mysterious characters whose back stories have been only touched on the surface but were obviously crucial in shaping them into the people they are today. They’ve been hurt in the past and therefore have major trust issues to overcome. While Ivan feels totally comfortable in his sexual preferences as a dom, Gabrielle is ashamed of her desires although she instinctively wants to submit to him. Ivan was captivated by Gaby and wanted to peel away her layers and discover her secrets. But scorching hot passion in the sheets wasn’t the only thing they shared, there was also a strong sense of connection. Something that scared them both but felt inevitable nonetheless.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed part one of this duet and can’t wait to find out more about Ivan and Gaby’s pasts. I’m interested to see how Raine is going to develop their dynamic and what she has in tow for these wonderful characters. If you’re a sucker for a strong Alpha hero who happens to be a sexy British Lord with a panchant for kink and a sweet, sassy and smart heroine who’s afraid of opening up her heart then you’re going to love this story! I highly recommend Priceless and encourage you to pick it up. You won’t be disappointed! 5 stars.
I’ve decided to re-read Priceless for a second time in preparation for the release of My Lord. And guess what? I was as bewitched by Ivan’s and Gaby’s passionate and highly intriguing love story full of mystery and suspense, as I was a couple of years ago. There’s something so beautiful, captivating and marvellous about Raine Miller’s writing. She is one of a very few authors in this industry who are able to make my heart and soul soar. No matter if she writes historicals, contemporary or sports romance, she always delivers a great story I could lose myself into.
Ivan Everly is the 13th Baron of Rothvale and owner of a priceless collection of art. Most of it is stashed in his Irish residency Donadea where he likes to escape to in order to have more privacy from the Londoner tabloid press. He might be a British Lord on the outside, but on the inside he’s just a regular guy who’s more interested in women and booze than in art or his title. Though his appetite runs a little on the kinky, dominant side. As a former olympic gold winner in archery, his public persona is only a sham. His private life is a carefully guarded secret, full of betrayal and pain he doesn’t share with anyone. Even his favorite cousin and best friend Ethan Blackstone.
When a beautiful American art conservationist, shows up at his door to appraise his inherited collection of paintings, Ivan’s life takes an unexpected turn. Once he gets a taste of the gorgeous Gabrielle Hargreave, who’s the perfect submissive to his dominant side, he’s entirely addicted and determined to have her, no matter what. Gaby soon realizes that running away from Ivan is pointless, when fate seems to put them on each other’s path again and again. Will their secret arrangement end up in a desaster or will it be the beginning of something priceless?
Ivan Everly is probably one of the most intriguing and controversial heroes Raine Miller has ever written. He’s a man with many faces. At times, he was confident, sexy, determined and even rude. But he could also be very sweet, compassionate and caring. I still believe that there is much more to him than meets the eye and can’t wait to find out more about what made him the man he is today.
Gabrielle Hargreave was the epitome of a loveable heroine. Even though she was funny, smart and strong on the outside, she was guarding her heart with everything she had. Some past bad experiences have made her skeptical towards man and not trust them easily. This is the reason why she desperately tried to stay away from Ivan Everly, but in the end couldn’t resist the strong pull between them. After all, he made her feel beautiful and desired like no man has ever before!
I loved these two with all my heart! Their sexual chemistry was out of this world. Some of their scenes were so hot and sensual, they made me crave a cigarette and a drink. And I’m not even smoking! Even though Ivan and Gaby didn’t have the best start, they were simply inevitable! Their compatibility inside and outside the bedroom was remarkable. Now I’m waiting with bated breath for My Lord, to see how their story continues.
I strongly recommend Priceless to all Raine Miller fans and those who are looking for a highly entertaining story with the right amount of heat and suspense! Let Lord Ivan and his Gabrielle take you on a journey you won’t be able to forget. 5 stars
5 Star Review Priceless (Rothvale Legacy #1) by Raine Miller
Ivan Everley, 13th Baron Rothvale, just his name sent shivers up and down my spine when I read the blurb for this book. Ivan is Ethan Blackstone’s cousin and is an intriguing man.
Ivan appears to have it all, but does he? There is so much more to him than first appears and as he and Gabrielle (Gabby) Hargreave explore their relationship I was riveted. The banter was witty, the chemistry intense and I was fully invested in the story that Ms.Miller wove.
What is it about Gabby that immediately draws him in and fires his determination to have her no matter what? Despite her initial misgivings, what’s a girl to do when a powerful and wealthy man sets his sites on her but fall head over heels and spiral out of control?
Raine Miller’s writing style is effortless and she had me totally hooked in this book from start to finish and I cannot wait for the next book in the series. If you are looking for a book that is hot, spicy, romantic and humorous, then look no further than Priceless.
This is Book 1 in the Rothvale Legacy Series and my first read by this author, and I must say that I quite enjoyed the storyline, the characters, and her writing style. It is a captivating, steamy romance between Lord Ivan and art conservationist Gabrielle. Witnessing them fall in love is magical. These adorable characters are flawed, the connection strong, the chemistry combustible, and the unique plot makes for an intriguing read. It is a wonderful love story with enough drama, excitement, frustrating moments, sweetness, some twists and sizzling chemistry. Overall, it is a page-turner with engaging secondary characters and a happy for now ending. A great start to the series.
From the moment Raine introduced us to Gabrielle and Ivan in Naked, I wanted their story. After the little incident at the Malerton gala, I craved it. Now that I’ve read the start of their beautiful and tumultuous love story, I need more.
Like all of her stories, Ms. Miller pulls you in. You can feel the instant chemistry between Ivan and Gabrielle, you can feel the pain they’ve had to endure, and you can definitely feel the connection they form. The mystery of Gabby’s past is driving me (and probably Ivan) mad. I want to know what is making her so skittish and making her run. I cannot wait to read what Raine has in store for them next.
Another Gem by Raine Miller! I became a fan quite quickly and now I want to devour all her books. This was my 2nd time around with Priceless as part of the read along group in The Raine Miller Romance Readers group. Reading as a group and discussing the plot is an amazing experience, which really opens your eyes to the little things you didn’t pick up on.
Priceless has a connection to The Muse but is a total standalone. I loved going back and forth between the two worlds and felt the experience of Priceless was enhanced having read The Muse first.
Gabby and Ivan are an amazing couple and Priceless is a captivating contemporary love story to lets you escape reality to a place where dreams can come true. It is full of emotion and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for them.
