I am prey. This is not pity talking, this is an acknowledgment of a fact.I am small and weak; I am an omega. I am a prize that men war over. For a year I have hidden in the distant corner of the Empire. But I am running out of food, and I am running out of options. That I must leave soon is not a decision for today, though, but a decision for tomorrow.Only tomorrow’s choices never come. For tonight … tomorrow’s choices never come.
For tonight brings strangers who remind me that I am prey.
Publisher’s Note: Prey is an extra spicy fantasy romance with three stern protectors, a wolf-shifter, and their sweet but stubborn mate.

The newest book, “Prey: A Fantasy Reverse Harem“ by “L.V. Lane” is a great way to introduce yourself to the world of Omegas and the Alphas that are relentless in their pursuit to find one!
Bella represents the epitome of how an Omega is meant to react and submit to ‘her’ Alphas, acquiescing to her mates and their dominance. Now, not all Omegas respond or behave in the same manner; however,
Bella’s behaviour gives the reader a solid foundation when they further
explore Ms. Lane’s brilliantly written ‘Controller’ series. Belle also has an inner strength that makes its appearance in the protection of her pigs against Nate, through the act of defiance when she is determined in her attempt at a rescue and when Belle wants something badly enough. There is a strong sense of camaraderie between the three alpha brothers Silas, Dax, and, Nate (and, eventually with Bram) with many humorous and sentimental moments that have the reader either laughing out loud or shaking their heads, at their antics I can’t wait to to see what Ms. Lane has up her sleeves next!
The writing and editing of the ARC version of this manuscript was clean, with no typos that I found and pretty sentences. The world building was the least well done part of this novel, with the fantasy setting not being vibrantly described at all. That was a little disappointing after how vibrant the world building was in the Controllers series by this author. The characterization was okay, though the heroine was not as vibrant or complex as a lot of the omega heroines in the Controllers series. The development of the romantic relationship between the heroine and her harem was fairly good, though I would have been willing to trade in a few of the sexy scenes for ones focusing on characterization and relationship development. The plot and pacing was quick and exciting, with me turning the pages quickly to find out what was going to happen next. This novel had low angst and high stakes, which tends to be one of my preferred narrative structures for a romance novel. This story used the Mating Bond trope common to omegaverse romance. It also used the Forced Proximity, Partner in Trouble, and Road Trip trope. The world building was three stars. The plot and pacing were four stars. The development of the romantic relationship was four stars. The characterization was three stars. I rounded up and gave this novel a combined rating of four stars. This book ends on a Happy Ever After ending instead of a cliffhanger, so that is a big plus. I recommend this novel to readers who enjoy speculative fiction m/f omegaverse romance with some dub-con elements. I would like to read more novels set in this world. I plan to buy myself a keeper copy of this novel.

Belle is young woman, living alone in a small cottage deep in the woods far from anyone, hidden by her father when she revealed years ago that she was Omega… a year after the death of her father she is facing starvation and hardship. Silas, Dax and Nate are young men, Brothers who are soldiers of the Imperium Guard, hunting a criminal when they come across Belle’s cottage seeking shelter during a storm. Belle flees in fear of being found and claimed but its too late, they catch her and drag her back to her cabin, she is now their Prey, Hunted, caught and soon to be claimed and mated by the alphas. But when deadly threat attacks unexpectedly Belle show just how strong a weak little Omega can be. That is not the only adventure and threat facing our new band of mates more lies on the horizon, including the daunting trip home and the new looming threat.. Their oldest Brother, Bram. Will Bram challenge his younger brother (By two minutes) for the rights to mate Belle? Will he take Her away from the younger brothers by force? Will they even make it home with the threats of marauders on thee road? This book has everything you could ask for in an Omegaverse story. It was easy read and very engaging. It also has a HEA (sorta) but it also preludes to another adventure, but that is another story!

I fell in love with L.V. Lane’s writing after reading her Controllers series, so I’m always excited to see what she comes up with next. Prey is a new omegaverse reverse harem story from Ms. Lane. It’s set in a different world from the Controllers series and is quite a bit lighter in tone, though it still have some darker parts. I believe this is the first reverse harem story by this author and she did an amazing job with it. RH is kind of a hit or miss for me, more often on the miss side, because I find it hard to connect with all the men. Additionally, the individual characters are often not well developed and only the main guy has any depth. L.V. Lane created an amazing cast of alphas, starting with the dominant first alpha Silas and ending with my favorite half wolf shifter Nate whose antics kept me thoroughly entertained. There’s a surprise thrown into the mix as well, which I’m not going to spoil. Belle is such an awesome female character. Despite being an omega and, thus, technically, submitting to the alphas, Belle is a spunky, strong heroine with a lot of sass. That sass often lands her in the most delicious trouble with her alphas. This is probably one of the hottest books by Ms. Lane and that’s saying something. It’s chock full of steamy alpha/omega action and everything that entails. Despite being on the lighter and steamier side, there’s still a good relationship development arc for every character and it showcases their emotional connection. There’s also some action which throws a bit of darkness into the mix. Overall, this a must read for any fan of omegaverse, especially those looking for something on the lighter side.
This is my first book by this author and I sure am glad that I finally got the pleasure. The writing was refreshingly smooth, straight to the point, and there’s a well-balanced feel to it: the male characters are distinctly different from each other (pretty important in RH, where they sometimes all look the same), there’s action, a little bit of background, there’s smut (seriously hot smutt), and it’s also kind of a primitive road trip.
The omega, Belle, is offly sassy, enough to keep the alphas busy, and the alphas are epic: dominant, forceful, animalistic…so delicious!!! I loved them all, my favorite was the most brutish of them all, Dax, and I felt like perhaps he didn’t get so much attention as the others did, specially Nat (the younger, naughtier one), who was terribly wicked and fun but I have a weak spot for burly behemoths *grin*.
There’s a lot of smex, so be prepared for a lot of body fluids, the scenes are wildly erotic (which is not always the case in erotic romance) with that edge of animalistic sensuality so belonging to this genre.
The only thing I disliked was that the heroine is described as “skin and bones”, so it made me feel a little bit off with regards to her being a figure representing fertility and sensuality; sorry but I can’t visualize it, I keep feeling like she’s going to faint at any given time due to fluid loss or too much rough, vigorous sex with more than one huge alpha…I also keep imagining myself feeding her a sandwich or a stew to make her stronger. Such fragility in my mind clashes with the idea I have of what an omega should be like, but that is my personal pet peeve.
I would highly recommend this author to those readers who love the omegaverse, I will be looking forward to reading more of her work.

I love it!
Perfectly dark!
Perfectly sexy! I mean, four Alpha in a rut are perfect, right
Silas, Bram, Dax, and my mutt wolf shifter Alpha, Nate… Just delicious!
Perfect omega! She’s a damsel in distress but still have sass and warrior in her tiny little body. Love love Belle!
And perfectly promise to have another book in this world!
I have read everything this author puts out and I can’t get enough. I seemly love this latest book. The storytelling, the characters, the world-building, the new setting — I loved it all!!
I’m not quite sure if the author will be taking the reading along in a new series (I seriously hope so because there’s some characters I would love to read about) or if this is just another glimpse into a A/o dynamics world, either way I loved it.
Please keep in mind, this is a A/o story so there are strong themes here that are not for everyone. The author stays true to the characters’ dynamics throughout (though the reader may want to punch the alpha-holes). It’s something I appreciate. I really hate wishy-washy characters. I really hope the author writes more about this new world and time because I want to know more about what the Blighten is. So many questions.

What a great story! Got our sweet and brave omega Belle, and our overbearing Alphas! They can be sweet, rough or just over protective! Who doesn’t like all those characteristics in an alpha. This was a deliciously yummy Omegaverse story!
This is my favorite book in this series of books.
I just really loved reading about how feisty Belle is and even knowing she is an Omega doesn’t change her perception and fierceness for everything. I also love that although they are all Alphas they allow and even encourage her disruptive natural nature. It was all so endearing.
This book is so hot and steamy, it’s a panty soaker.
This is a great read, full of action, danger with romance added. As a rare omega, Belle is found by three alpha brothers, Dax, Nate, with Silas as the first alpha. The mating is both rough and sensual with all three claiming her. Having found a rare omega, they head home where the fourth alpha, Bram will also claim her. I especially loved Belle and the attitude and defiance she displays throughout the story, adding a heavy dose of humor to the story, along with Nate who is referred to as whelp. Silas and Dax are the more serious ones. Along the way there is danger from a rogue, Oswold and his group. I loved the book and hope there is another part to this story as I have some unanswered questions that would make another book.
An Omega story with both heat and heart
In all honesty, I am not a fan of the Omega genre books. Most of them barely have coherent story line and skirt too close to abuse for me to enjoy. Why did I then read this book? Well, the blurp was really well written and intriguing. And am I glad I did! I finished the book in 24hrs – could not put it down. This book is technically very well written, draws you in and manages to put you right there in the scene with the characters. I loved the dynamic – that was real caring moments, heroism – by both our male MCs as well as our little Omega- and with the heat that you would expect from this type of book. Yes, there are a LOT of schmexy scenes. But it is more than that, the characters grew on me and I loved to see how they developed within the relationship. The suspense element added to the book. If this is your go to genre, this book will not disappoint. If this is not your normal cup of tea, give it a try- it may just surprise you!

OMG!!!!!
This book was FANTASTICAL!! Words can not express how much I loved this book!
I was introduced to Alphas and Omegas by L. V. Lane and I am totally HOOKED! I received a Beta copy of this book and couldn’t be more proud and happy to be a part of it and more to come.
Every time I read one of L. V. Lane’s books, I’m taken to new heights and explore things so out of the norm that I want them to be real lol. She has a way with words that allows her readers to picture the scenes as they are happening. I’m not going to even tell you about all the feels you get because trust me when I say you will be hooked! It gives me a different experience every single time I need a change in my reading.
I have NEVER read a book like this one before! I’m not giving anything away because I highly recommend this book (and potential series) to anyone that needs and wants more when it comes to a romance book because this is not your average one.
The title of the books explains it all! Belle was on here on, no male guidance, trying to run a farm by herself, and to top it off, she was an Omega which means she was very vulnerable without a male figure in her life. I won’t lie, she had spunk and a sassy attitude that she never had to worry about before, that is until…
Along came…well I suppose you will have to read the story to find out what happens next and to see if Belle gets her HEA or more than she would have ever imagined.
Phenomenal storyline and characters to make one heck of a read!
This book Prey is yet another home run for L.V. Lane! I have not read a book or series of hers that I have not throughly devoured!!
I love Omegaverse especially RH because they are so sexy, hot and so many knots. This author is also one of my favorite Omegaverse writers and you will never know what story she will pull you into!
This book is about Belle (a rare omega) left on her own after her father dies. Belle tries to run the farm on her own; however, one night three Imperium Guards show up while hunting a dangerous man and his rogues who leave nothing but death and destruction in their wake.
When they meet Belle they know she is a rare Omega and are required by law to claim her. So Silas and his brothers Dax and Nate (wolf shifter) do so. While they try and bring a headstrong Belle to heel (with a lot of hot spanking) there is danger lurking as Oswold and his rogues try to hunt and eliminate them while putting Belle in extreme danger.
To keep Belle safe, Silas heads home for help from his brother. Bram happens to be the first born and ruler of his family; however, he does not hold the first Alpha title, Silas does. In order to keep Belle safe and protected, he must become leader of his family, this means make his brother give up his title and bend a knee to him or fight and winner takes all. There is so much at risk because if he loses…Belle may be lost to him and his brothers forever!
What will happen next? To find out you must read this fantastic book and you will differently not be disappointed!
Thank you again L.V. Lane. As always I can’t wait to read what you write next.
This is a RH omegaverse with one alpha being a wolf shifter. The alphas are brothers on a mission who happen across an omega barely surviving on her own. I loved that the omega wasn’t afraid of the alphas or her attraction to them. I would recommend this book!
Belle is alone in the world, hiding, and nearing a time when she would have to leave the shelter of her home. The only problem is that she’s in hiding because she’s an Omega and a prize Alphas war over. She is too scared and too attached to her cottage to leave.
Silas, Dax, and Nate are Imperium Guards. They are hunting traitors to the crown, when they stumble upon a lone cottage before a storm—not only do they find shelter but an Omega Prey.
This book is HOT! I didn’t want to put it down.
L. V. Lane is a master crafter of steamy and suspenseful stories.
If you enjoyed the Controller series, you will love the Alphas in Prey!
I liked it but I’m not sure about this universe. It was well written. I didn’t care for the FMC.
