All Giselle ever wanted was a family… who can accept her for what she is, a werewolf. In a world where supernatural creatures are not out and proud, this has been a problem for 16 year old Giselle. One that may prove the answer to all her dreams and wishes. But this family comes with a deadly secret that could send Giselle six feet under instead of back into the system.

I can’t believe how fast I burned through this book. One sitting and before I knew it, I’d devoured the whole thing. Really fun read with lots to like … I’m sure I won’t remember to list them all but here are some:
Shifters.
Foster home / group home setting.
High school/complete with bullies & cliques / identifiable, despite having magic & shifters.
Magic.
Witches.
Old war / family rivalries.
Drama!
Action.
Wit.
A misunderstood villain who redeems himself.
I’d absolutely read more from this author, stoked to have discovered a new fave.
4 stars.
Note:
Narrator is great! Voice stands up to being sped up, pronunciation is great, no distractions.
I have no problem with YA novels but when you have high school cliche, whining, BS, and no real character building plus the main character being a cold, angsty, self centered *itch, no thank you.
What a riveting version of the foster system and foster parents and children!!!
I couldn’t put this down.
Giselle is an endearing character.
***I am voluntarily posting an honest review after reading an Advance Reader Copy of this story.***
I really enjoyed this book. It has a little of everything, teenage angst, romance, mystery, suspense, happy ending. When a juvenile werewolf is taken to a new foster home she is given the opportunity to join a new family and pack but old problems pop back up that make her question what she should do. The author really too the time to create a world that makes sense. Things happen for a reason and are not just stuck in the book for the sake of having them in the book.
I cannot wait for the next.
I received an ARC copy from StoryOrigin in return for a honest review
This was a very entertaining story about werewolves, family, belonging and a murder mystery. I found the story intriguing and I’m looking forward to reading the next book.
Excellent New Werewolf Series!
Giselle Richards dreams of finding a family who will love and accept her just as she is but when she lands in the Martinez household on a full moon she’s sure she’ll be sent packing the very next day. Be careful what you wish for! She’s ecstatic to discover they are all werewolves just like her but hesitant to commit when she learns about the feud between them and a rival pack. A wonderful new series with heartwarming characters, plenty of teenage angst, trust issues, suspense, intrigue, a twist, werewolves, witches, a curse and a feisty wolf heroine. I love the quirky characters, unique storyline and wonderful HEA ending. I look forward to reading the next book. Enjoy!
I received an advance copy and am happy to leave my honest review.
The perfect placement slowly unravels as a past that tore apart the community comes back to haunt again. Different take on shifter lore and community that was intriguing enough that I looked forward to my daily commute. The narrator was easy to listen to and did a good job differentiating the voices.
More a mystery thriller with a paranormal twist than a teen shifter romance (though there is quite a bit of that too, it does stay clean and takes a backseat to the mystery). Definitely YA, as the main characters are young and impetuous and think themselves invincible. More sisterly drama than love triangle tension.
Book 1 in a series, this could be read as a standalone and the central concern in the story is completely resolved. However, there are still A LOT of questions I have about the world that has been created as well as the ramifications of a few things so good thing there are more books 🙂
Giselle has been shuffled from foster home to foster home. When she’s dropped off at her newest foster home she finds she may just have found her forever family. Problem is there may be a war between her new family and the other pack in the area. She is afraid of joining a family at war and wants to figure out if there is a way to stop it. Giselle is fierce, determined and stubborn. However, she makes more headway in finding out what happened than anybody involved. I love her character and determination to right the wrongs that started it all. On top of all that, she has the attention of a handsome witch and the cutest werewolf at the school. This is an exciting and unpredictable book and well worth reading.
I actually purchased this book in 2016 and somehow just got around to reading it. I wanted something a little different, so I popped this one open. Glad I did. I like the main character Giselle quite a bit. There is a bit of romance, but not overly done. The shifters in this story are people with a slight issue. I am looking forward to seeing where this story goes
The angst of young infatuation. Whom should she choose or believe. Giselle has been abandoned by her family and other foster families. She has finally found a home she thinks. She wants to know why there’s fighting among the packs. She’s afraid to believe that she can have a family.
I had a great time reading this well written book. The characters were well developed and felt throughout the pages. I will definitely recommend to my friends.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Pretty little Werewolf is a really enjoyable book, the main character, Giselle has spent her life moving in and out of foster homes when people discover she’s a werewolf. I found the characters in the book were interesting and believable and it’s really well written. All the clothes shopping that Giselle and her new sisters did, got a bit boring but that’s what they’re like. The rest of the story had plenty of action with two wolf packs in the same area and I couldn’t guess what was going to happen which made it very hard to put down, I voluntarily reviewed this book and I recommend it to teens and up, it ends happily but I want to read the next book in the series to find out what happens.
**** SPOILER ALERT ****
In “Pretty Little Werewolf” Salidas deftly balances action and exposition while doing a fantastic job of world building and character development. It started off feeling a bit “Romeo And Juliet” then the author threw a curveball at me. I loved it!!
I couldn’t put this book down until I’d devoured it like a werewolf tearing into a nice rare steak!! I highly recommend this entertaining page turner! I can hardly wait to get my hands in the next installments!!
Q: Will Giselle finally find a pack to belong to?
Q: Can Giselle and krew broker peace between the two rival packs?
A: Grab this book, read it, and find out!
In the interest of transparency: I was given a review copy of this book and I am voluntarily sharing this review.
It is my own honest opinion.
“Pretty Little Werewolf” is the first book in the Little Werewolf Series, that follows the MC Giselle Richard in her journey to adulthood. We first encounter Giselle, who has been lost in the foster care system for years, at her arrival to the latest foster family, with little more expectations than “this is the next one, until the next”. The social worker does not even take the time to get out of the car, and Giselle is dumped once more into a “new home”. Don’t get that wrong, the homes seem to have been pretty ok, and the families average. The problem lies somewhere else, Giselle is in her own words “a freak” that cannot stay for more than a few days to a couple of weeks in the care of the foster families before she “freaks up” and they have enough. This time however she is convinced to have win the jackpot, as in beating her own record, because this time it will only take hours for the family to send her back. Tonight, is full moon, and Giselle is going to “freak up” again. As in on cue the house seems pretty, the “mother” appears nice enough with the two “sisters” in the annoying edge of things. Right them I thought I have figured out…. Cinderella Werewolf … but you know what they say do not ever ass-u-me anything, my presumptions went into ashes right them.
The story is interesting and more intricate that it will appear at first sight. Giselle comes a little to naïve at times, but we should give her a break, the girl has been in the system for so long that normal interaction does not come easy, to say the least, and even the most social aware girl, finds herself drooling a little to much over a boy…. or two. The secondary characters are well drafted in the supernatural world hides a lot of secrets that Giselle needs to unlock carefully, before she makes any decisions that will permanently affect her future.
I pick this book after reading Katie Salidas’ “Agents of ASSET” Series and some other unrelated books by the author. I did not expect to like it that much as I am not a werewolf fan, but I was pleasantly surprised with the story and the characters, this author never disappoints:
Such a wonderful paranormal book. Wonderful Characters.
Full of action and suspense. Loved reading this book.
I really enjoyed Katie Salidas book. This is a great coming of age book of a foster child who has moved through the system so dang often your head will spin. She just happens to be a Werewolf, that could cause problems. We all have our demons don’t we? I love Katies’ works because often they are relevant, in an urban setting with a supernatural spin. Trying to fit in during high school is hard enough let alone being strange. Now a days strange is popular but often just wishing to be normal can be huge too. This book just flows and all the details are there, in her world building, character development and continuity. And Las Vegas what could be weirder than that, I love it. From teens to adults I know you will really enjoy this adventure.
Giselle has lived in one foster home after another for as long as she can remember. All she has ever wanted was to have a family to call her own. Every time she is placed into a home things go great until the full moon and her wolf makes its appearance and back into foster care she goes.
Things may just be looking up for Giselle with the new foster home that she has been placed in. Giselle may just have found the one thing she has always wanted and that is a pack and family of her own. Her new foster parents want to adopt her if she will have them.
Giselle would love nothing more but it this adoption thing has come up real quick like and she is of the mind that sometimes a good thing may not be so good after all especially when she hears about another pack in the area that her soon to be pack is in war with. Giselle wants a pack and family but not if it could mean losing her life. She doesn’t want to start a new life and then have it taken away at the snap of her fingers.
Before she consents to be a part of the pack Giselle is determined to find out why the two packs are at war and to hopefully put an end to all the fighting before agreeing to become a member of the pack. Can Giselle find out what started the war between the two packs?
Giselle is a very snarky little werewolf who just wants to be loved and to feel as if she belongs. Giselle has two very hot dudes sniffing at her tail, a witch and a werewolf. Both are very likable dudes the only problem with one of them is that he belongs to the pack that her pack is in war with.
Pretty Little Werewolf has so much to offer it has werewolves, witches, pack wolves, lone wolves, curses, betrayal, war and a love triangle.
Pretty Little Werewolf is a great introduction into the world of the Little Werewolf. Pretty Little Werewolf was definitely a fast read as I read it in one sitting. Once I picked it up I couldn’t put it down. I love the story of the wolves and I can’t wait to see where Giselle takes us on her next journey in book two of the Little Werewolf series, Curious Little Werewolf.
I highly recommend Pretty Little Werewolf to anyone who are fans of fantasy, werewolves, witches and romance.
Very well written which causes you to feel the same emotions as Giselle. As if being a foster child, a high school student and a werewolf weren’t enough, now a pack wants her to join them. Tough decisions need to be made and hopefully Giselle is mature enough to make the right ones.

Giselle had much to contend with. This was the first day in her new foster home – but it was also a full moon that evening, which called to her wolf and made her a bit uncontrollable, not her best way to present herself to the new family. As she stepped out of the cab and her foster mother Martina greeted her, she smelled a rich earthy scent that calmed her. Her caseworker didn’t even get out of the cab to fill out paperwork! She got away as quickly as possible, it seemed. Maybe she knew she’d be back the next day to pick her up after her wolf got rowdy tonight. Two adopted girls around Giselle’s age raced downstairs and introduced themselves as Diana and Taylor, one passing $5.00 to the other since she had bet the new girl was a redhead. When Giselle wasn’t as friendly to them, Martina looked at her and firmly, with the strength of an alpha, said that they spoke to each other respectfully in their house. Feeling the alpha push made Giselle want to push back with her own strength and dominance. Her face softened, as did the girls’, but Giselle couldn’t keep quiet and told them frankly she had heard it all before. Not a good start to her new-for-now life.
But this time the situation appears to be different when she finds other werewolves whom she can relate to. But with her jaded and insecure past experiences, can she bring herself to trust them enough to want to become part of their pack? And what of the possibility of a war brewing with another pack? What would that mean for her? Because she doesn’t know who to trust, she determines to search for the real cause of the feud between the packs. With help from two friends, Asher and Damien, they may just find the truth she is looking for.
This was a good story about a foster situation where the main character is trying to find a place where she can belong when her situation usually makes her different from everyone else. Her character is strong and courageous, despite the snarky attitude that her treatment by others brought out. The reader can easily respect what she is trying to do as she wants to make things better. When the reader learns about the other wolf pack, the well-paced story line keeps the reader intrigued by a mystery regarding what happened between the packs and why that stirred up a feud. Giselle is willing to put herself out there and find the truth. Will she be able to do that? Will it make things better or worse for her? Grab your copy and get into her story to see where it all leads.
