Revenge is served…
Twelve people bound by a secret arrive for an exclusive dinner only to find that the other guests are familiar in the most troubling of ways.
Ella Boyer isn’t looking forward to attending the Bayshore alumni dinner with her husband, Noah. There aren’t enough pills in the world to numb her fears of seeing her classmates again … especially after what she did all those years … she did all those years ago.
Her sorority sister Heidi Blanchard, equally guilty, will be at the same exclusive restaurant that night. In the aftermath of their secret shame, Heidi’s turned lying into a sport and has lost her compass for truth. She’s there for a job … or so she thinks.
Bindi Bridges, former guidance counselor at Bayshore, has no idea about the alumni dinner or Heidi’s job offer. She’s at Crave to learn who her husband’s been sleeping with, tipped by an unknown source.
Mason Pace is there to meet a headhunter. His life is about to turn around — a relief, after the horror that happened eleven years ago.
Seven others — each seeking their own redemption and hiding their own sordid sins — are just as ignorant of the sinister purpose behind this elegant event.
Their host? A Hollywood star with glamour to spare and all the money in the world to spend on that most useful of hobbies: revenge and the extraction of secrets.
The only guest not in attendance is the one who deserves to be there most: Casey Davis.
What happened to Casey? And who’s to blame?
★★★★★ “Really enjoyed reading this one. Many twists and turns. I think it would make a great movie, if it was done right. Will be on my list to read again at a future date.” — PapaJim
★★★★★ “This book had secrets, revelations, journeys into the past, crazy twists and turns! It kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the writing style with past and present viewed from different characters in different ways. This could make a really good movie!” — Michele
★★★★★ “This is a great book. Fresh, well written, lots of realistic characters, some who may remind you of people you know, a sad story, unfortunate events, and a refreshing way of telling a mystery. Bad choices, dirty secrets, old friends and frenemies, awkward interactions…. a thoroughly thought provoking read.” — The Swamp Thing
Pretty Killer is Agatha Christie for the modern age. It’s Truant & King at their duplicitous best, weaving a tale with more layers than stratified ground in which a murderer digs a stone cold grave … proving that revenge isn’t always best when it’s cold — and sizzles when it’s piping hot.
Warning: Pretty Killer is a tense psychological thriller that includes adult language and situations. While it is all within the context of the story, some readers may find this content offensive. Intended for mature audiences.

I love a story where you think you know the outcome; but then, surprise! Pretty Killer was a pretty killer read.
Realistic – college hazing – and traumatic scenes that will move you to your core.
Highly Recommended
Boring. After 100 pages it still didn’t hold my interest so I am deleting it from my Kindle.
Really well done; just enough suspense to keep you wanting to know how this could possibly end.
This book is a real page turner. Once you start it you won’t be able to put it down. So many twists and turns and a really surprising ending. I highly recommend!
I literally couldn’t put this book down. I’d love to see this book made into a movie. Loved the way this story developed. So many twists that it kept me riveted.
This book was about an elaborate revenge scheme. An actress decides to get even with the people who caused her sister’s death by inviting them all to a private dinner at an exclusive restaurant. She poisons the food and drink and finds out the truth and leaves the man who was responsible to die.
Juvenile high school mentality leads to an intricately planned revenge a decade later. The story did contain some slow, dull spots, and seemed to drag out a bit longer than necessary, in my opinion.
I recommend keeping track of the characters. It can get kind of confusing, or anyway it did for me.
Every time you think you understand the plot, there will be a twist. So turn that page!
Didn’t really like the ending, but a good mystery otherwise.
wow….lots of emotional stuff. very well written, but so twisted.
Good psychological drama.
Full of twists and turns. Different.
Lots of characters, but because of excellent writing and story telling, you get to know the personality of each, whether like them or not. Nothing’s sure until the end.
This is a current spin on an old Agatha. Be aware, people today use vulgarity- a lot. The cast is basically a group of people you knew in school – the good and bad represented. Author pulls in a current trend – posting to the internet for all to see FOREVER. Well done.
Well-paced, with good suspense, but the overall count of errors and the several chapters needed to wrap it all up after the ‘climax’ made it disappointing.
I prefer that the climax indicates the things I should have noticed earlier in the story, rather than opening new, and conflicting, possibilities.
Not recommended.
I couldn’t read for very long. Lots of characters, my brain couldn’t handle it
Very interesting, I had to stay with it because I was so curious about who everyone was, what happened to Casey and whats going happen at thus dinner party grest read.
Good book but the characters were confusing at times. I kept having to go back and refresh myself on who the character was that was currently central in the book. I’m not sure how to make the character changes less confusing.
