Revenge is served…
Twelve people bound by a secret arrive for an exclusive dinner only to find that the other guests are familiar in the most troubling of ways.
Ella Boyer isn’t looking forward to attending the Bayshore alumni dinner with her husband, Noah. There aren’t enough pills in the world to numb her fears of seeing her classmates again … especially after what she did all those years … she did all those years ago.
Her sorority sister Heidi Blanchard, equally guilty, will be at the same exclusive restaurant that night. In the aftermath of their secret shame, Heidi’s turned lying into a sport and has lost her compass for truth. She’s there for a job … or so she thinks.
Bindi Bridges, former guidance counselor at Bayshore, has no idea about the alumni dinner or Heidi’s job offer. She’s at Crave to learn who her husband’s been sleeping with, tipped by an unknown source.
Mason Pace is there to meet a headhunter. His life is about to turn around — a relief, after the horror that happened eleven years ago.
Seven others — each seeking their own redemption and hiding their own sordid sins — are just as ignorant of the sinister purpose behind this elegant event.
Their host? A Hollywood star with glamour to spare and all the money in the world to spend on that most useful of hobbies: revenge and the extraction of secrets.
The only guest not in attendance is the one who deserves to be there most: Casey Davis.
What happened to Casey? And who’s to blame?
★★★★★ “Really enjoyed reading this one. Many twists and turns. I think it would make a great movie, if it was done right. Will be on my list to read again at a future date.” — PapaJim
★★★★★ “This book had secrets, revelations, journeys into the past, crazy twists and turns! It kept me wondering what was going to happen next. I loved the writing style with past and present viewed from different characters in different ways. This could make a really good movie!” — Michele
★★★★★ “This is a great book. Fresh, well written, lots of realistic characters, some who may remind you of people you know, a sad story, unfortunate events, and a refreshing way of telling a mystery. Bad choices, dirty secrets, old friends and frenemies, awkward interactions…. a thoroughly thought provoking read.” — The Swamp Thing
Pretty Killer is Agatha Christie for the modern age. It’s Truant & King at their duplicitous best, weaving a tale with more layers than stratified ground in which a murderer digs a stone cold grave … proving that revenge isn’t always best when it’s cold — and sizzles when it’s piping hot.
Warning: Pretty Killer is a tense psychological thriller that includes adult language and situations. While it is all within the context of the story, some readers may find this content offensive. Intended for mature audiences.

COULDN’T GRAB MY INTEREST TO WANT TO CONTINUE TO READ.
Some reviewer likened it to an Agatha Christie mystery. Not even close. Characters were vapid, not one was interesting or sympathetic. Half way through the book, I wanted to put it down but soldiered on. And sorry I did. Not worth the time spent. How could it take two authors to write such a trite novel?
Didn’t care for the book or the style of writing.
Plot seemed to take a lot of time to make progress in telling the story. I didn’t finish it.
Not very good. Shallow characters. Didn’t finish.
Not my type of book, though I did read it all.
Full of characters you love to hate, I literally couldn’t put it down. Saw the first twist coming but not the others. Love this book!!
This really is a page turner. I loved it! After reading 16% of the book I had to go back and take notes on the various characters. I recommend doing that as there are many depths to these characters and it’s important to keep them straight.
Well worth the read!
Just couldn’t get into it. I am going to wait a while and go and re-read and see if I think differently —
I started it, but none of the characters were appealing. It didn’t hold my attention.
Finally a book with a unique plot ! This is worth every minute of your time. And…. You’ll get to meet a whole bunch of characters you’ll love to hate ! Enjoy!
Enjoyed this book very much! I like the way the writers threw clues out to keep you hooked and guessing until the end.
Did not finish this book. Characters were so annoying and book dragged on.
Excellent read!! Absolutely best thing I’ve read lately. Could not put it down each night!!!! Fabulous story, great backgrounds, compelling from start to finish.
I got maybe a quarter or a third through this book and stopped reading it. Though I might have wanted to know what was going to happen, I so disliked some of the characters, especially, two, though not exclusively, that I just could not take reading the book anymore. Their language was tiring and, honestly, childish in its disgusting prattle. I can understand in a way this lets you know what these characters are all about, but I just got weary of it. So, I would not recommend it unless you were one of the mean, creepy girls in high school and college and then never outgrew this type of personality. Ugh!
Boring
Slow action——too much time spent identifying characters
I enjoyed it and would like to read more of the series. It was original and kept you guessing.
Very entertaining read
This book was awesome. One of the best murder, mysteries I’ve read in a long time. Excellent work. Makes me want to reread it. Thank you.
