Mercy what can I say about this 2nd book other than “Wow” just wham bam thank you ma’am action from page 1 to the end as Rosalina and Anthony try to find out who, why & where they took her cousin and when they do their going to pay. This book had me flipping pages so fast I couldn’t read it fast enough it was just so good. This may be a quick read, but it packs a punch. I can’t wait to see what she writes next. Definitely worth reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book
Rosalina has dealt with more horror in her life than anyone can imagine. Losing her parents she becomes head of the mafia. Forced into a marriage to keep her position, her hostility towards Anthony slowly builds into a mutual fire which may consume them both. The story is full of secrets and action. I cannot wait to read the rest of this tale.
Omg so not sure how the hell I managed to NOT review this ah-mazing story by the latest goddess of indie romance -BUT, I’m here now;) where to start? This had all I wanted and more, engaging from start to finish, strong kick a$$ female lead that shines so bright she burns all those around her! One line legit, slayed me. Of all the lines, lol, this one is seriously me #accurate
“I couldn’t help but taunt him some more which was my downfall most of the time”
Rosie is my spirit animal;) Michelle I’ve seen you promote & lift up other amazing authors, and guess freaking what? It’s YOU that will be promoted and lifted up now! Keep up the twisty fierce mafia goodness!!
Wow. This story was amazing and even more wowsome (yes, that’s a made-up word, deal with it) knowing that it’s Michelle Brown’s first publication. The plot is tight, the characters are fluid, the story progresses at an even pace, Rosalina is fantastic, and I cannot wait to read the next story in this series.
I love the mafia genre and this book offers an extremely unique perspective. Michelle Brown really added a level of complexity and put the focus on a strong female lead while allowing chemistry with the male lead as well. Not an easy feat! Are there parts that are pretty common to the genre? Of course. However, Michelle really focused on character development which I greatly appreciated. She also knows how to add to a story so it’s not just linear, there are more aspects to focus on enhancing the book overall. I’m addicted to this book, was unable to stop reading it and can’t wait for the next so I know what happens!
I’m looking forward to what Michellle Brown brings in the future. I have a feeling it will only get better.
First of all hands off to this author and her debut novel it is a wonderful read especially for the first and of a series. Yes it is a series so don’t even go there you have been warned. I love the strong female character. I also want to know her and see more of her human side where Tony is concerned not only that some of the choices she made just made me shake my head. And while I really want to love Tony I have no clue as to the who and why of him and while yes there is darkness, I felt the author was teasing us and holding back. I do love these two together and they make for a mafia couple worth reading about. The hint of more to come keeps you on the edge of your seat since both seem to have secrets.
I want more and that being said doesn’t mean this wasn’t an awesome read. I did enjoy the story and of course I will be back for more. Believe it or not I am not a huge fan of dark and dirty although I do like a taste now and then but this I have to admit that is what I expected and want more of too, along with the emotion that goes with it. This is a wonderful first debut novel and trust me you want to read it. I personally just see this as the tease this author is dangling to get us hooked before she let’s her wildly dark side out and we are done for. Loved it.
Short but action packed. Reels you in right off the hop leaving you wanting more. Awesome characters and love the strong kick ass female lead. Can’t wait to see what happens next. I was gifted the book from a contest,as well the second one, and I’m sure glad I won!
Reading about Rosalina was such a joy. I love that Michelle created such smart, badass, sexy, and most of all lethal character. I love mafia books and to actually read one that is not the guy as the head of the family is fantastic. I was amazed how this book was based on a female character that becomes the mafia Queen which is brillant and epic. I love when female characters don`t always need to be saved but show that they have the power to take over an empire. I love that eventhough she was born a female that didnt stop her family to groom her to the most lethal ASESINA! I highly recommend this book you will enjoy all the side characters and story build up. You will also see the hot chemistry between Rosalina and Tony which is fire!!!! I cant wait to read more!!!
Pretty Killer is a good book. It keeps you interested in the story and the character’s are series but funny. Rosie and Anthony is quite interesting, their flirtatious but deadly relationship is going to be good to see it progress. I need the next book to see what’s going to happen with them.
Pretty Killer is Michelle’s debut book and she should be proud of accomplishment.
If you love a deadly and badass heroine, look no further! Roasalina Maria Velasquez, also known as the La Asesina Bonita, The Pretty Killer! She knows how to torture, slay, shoot and use killer heels without falter.
She is doing what she was taught to do, and what her father, El Jefe, wants her to do. She is deadlier than most men, because she is a woman living in a man’s world.
Pretty Killer is short and fast-paced story, but highly intense, and action packed!
Super dark and gritty mafia suspense romance. The author’s words grabbed my attention from the very first sentence and I read it straight through. If you’re a lover of the darker suspense and mafia romances, this book is a must read.
I’m going to keep this brief as without giving away the whole plot it’s hard to go into details here.
“Pretty Killer” is a short read that packs a punch.
I did enjoy this but it was really in my opinion just to brief overall to give the subject matter its due.
That really is what let this down how short it was.
So Rosalina is Pretty Killer a girl shaped by her past and life experiences.
Her background has helped mould her into the woman she is today.
Shes also the new heir of the Mexican Mafia after her fathers passing.
A job she has been in training for at least half her life.
In contrast, when she meets Anthony De Los Santos, a major member of the Cuban mafia and her future all rolled into one sparks fly.
Also, A softer side beneath her harsh exterior is slowly revealed as Tony manages to burrow beneath Rosalinas skin.
I really enjoyed the dynamic between this pair it will be interesting to see where it goes.
So I found this to be an enjoyable read that kept me entertained.
This is quick, low angst insta-love with no OW action.
and just so you’re aware this does end on a big cliffhanger.
Thank You to the Author for providing me with an ARC of (Pretty Killer (La Asesina Bonita, #1) ) of which I have reviewed voluntary.
All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
This was a great debut. Michelle did a fantastic job, I loved the storyline and the characters, well most of them anyway. The only thing that could make it better was if there was more. This was a novella, but I felt that a full length novel would have given us more depth, and also more Tony and Rosie. Job well done Michelle!
Amazing debut! So honored to beta and see this book come to fruition. Nothing is more fun to read than a strong, lethal woman in power brought to her knees by her perfect match!!! Anthony is a quiet force that oozed sexy, let me tell you. I giggled at the power play, each reluctant to submit fully, the tension off the charts as they circled each other like a predator stalking prey. I loved how all the unknowns started to come to light slowly, knowing that you are being fed breadcrumbs to what comes next. Perfect doses of action, heat, and amusing quotables that need teasers STAT!! I fell in love with these characters and I cannot wait to see how it turns out!

This book has a great storyline, I enjoyed the characters. Personally, I felt it needed more description. Otherwise, it was an appealing story that packed quite a bit of a punch.
Rosalina is a tough young woman who is thrown into the position of boss when her parents die. This is something she has been trained for her whole life.
Anthony is sent to Rosalina with a business proposition.
I enjoyed both characters, though I would have liked more time to get to know them better (for them to get to know one another better) before they jump into any kind of a relationship.
Rosalina Maria has had a messed up life at 8 she watched her brother get shot and her sister viciously raped. That’s what happens when your father is the head of the Mexican Mafia. And now she the only heir to her family’s name. She sent away to become a kick butt/take no names killer. Blood doesn’t bother her, she enjoys inflicting pain on those who do her wrong. And now she has the biggest fight yet to come.
Dude this was a fantastic book. It’s got killing, Romance, fighting and some serious sexy time. It’s a fabulous book from a debut author. Looking forward to more books in this series. I need to know what happens. And that cover! Good gravy it’s awesome.
