Sometimes the worst lies are the ones we tell ourselves…
Ten years ago, I did a terrible thing. I sold my self-respect, my marriage, and my chances for happiness. What was the going rate for these intangible things? For me, it was a check in the sum of one million dollars and a get-out-of-jail-free card for my delinquent brother. A decade later, I’m broken, unemployed, and still single. My … single. My baby brother is back in jail. The million dollars is gone.
My ex-husband wants to trust me again, but the thing is…how can he trust me when neither of us can forget all the pretty, filthy lies of our past?
This is the conclusion of Pretty Broken Girl and the second book in the Pretty Broken Series. It contains hot sex, adult language, and adult situations.

I enjoyed this book and the series so far! I can’t wait to see what comes next
Holy mother of hotness, aggravation, and I have no idea what! I went straight down the rabbit hole of Kota and Sam, and I am still trying to crawl back out!
I love these conflicted raw characters, and their off the charts chemistry.
I was so caught up in the tug of war between them UGH. I may have had some choice words with my kindle.
I mean, is the big bad CEO really holding her emotions hostage over some daddy issues? EVEN when he knows the truth?
Pass me a drink! This one is a doozy!
Luckily, the author weaved a tale where light is visible at the top of the rabbit hole, bringing the fabulous chaos I am invested in together magnificently!
I am soo glad I found this set of books!
Sam and Dakota are trying to mend the gap that they were left with after all the time that they lost since they ended but they both have to learn the versions of themselves and so far she doesn’t like what she sees and he can’t trust her no matter how hard he tries. I’m loving this series so far and please keep in mind they need to be read in order
Sam and Dakota obviously never stopped loving each other because these two were connected on another level. I felt bad for Dakota because while she is at fault for his trust issues, she thought they were moving forward and he just couldn’t let go. I honestly was expecting some crazy fight that would cause her to leave but luckily it didn’t happen because I don’t think Sam would have given her another chance. Definitely a good read.
would like more like this. looked for this author but can’t seem to find her.any suggestions? e

Ten years ago, I’d broken his heart and betrayed us both.
The sequel to Pretty Brocken Girl, and it was even more angsty than the previous book. Dakota and Samuel are taking it slow, trying to make their reconciliation work. Dakota realizes she has to win Sam’s trust again and she swears she will never leave him again. They start to work together again, Dakota assisting Sam with the McGruder acquisition. This time, Sam brought her to work in his office building, where they will have daily contact.
Here she faces several enemies: Sam’s father who is still intent on intervening and bringing Sam to the dark side (his corporation), Sam’s Human Resources Manager Dahlia, who wishes her gone, and Sam’s best buddies who distrust her. All Dakota has is the determination to prove herself to Sam so they can have another chance to be together. They fight frequently, then make up fantastically. There are several kinky “punishments” for infractions, and wonderful love moments. I loved when they got together and start to share their feelings and work at repairing their relation. There are several such moments like these and I savored them. The reading was turbulent because their road was a little choppy and that made it a page-turner. It made me so anxious that I sometimes skipped a few pages, found out what would happen, then skip back and read through. This is, for me, the hallmark of a riveting story.
And this time, we do end with an HEA, engagement ring and all. Loved it!
